Barack Obama drew both praise and criticism this weekend for a speech that seemed to endorse building a Muslim community center two blocks from Ground Zero.

  1. Obama needs to keep his Closet Muslim ass out of this .... it is a crime that anyone would even suggest putting a mosque anywhere near the 911 site .... if the must have it buuld it a few blocks away but not there

  2. The "party of small government" now wants the government to ban the building activities of private citizens because they don't like it. Way to go Obama for standing up for the law. Now I need him to stand up for the rights of Christians faced with similar cases/scenarios.

  3. It is a few blocks away. Are you okay with it now? And what about the strip joint that is as close as the mosque? Is that okay?

  4. Cory, it's already going to be a few blocks away. This is just a manufactured controversy to help the Republicans scare voters in the upcoming election.

  5. So when the president supports the constitution, he is wrong?
Funny how conservatives will worship the constitution as long as it serves their ideals.

The 14th amendment is great, except for those Mexicans.

The 1st amendment is great, except for those Muslims.

  6. Though the Muslims do have rights as Americans in this county to do this you would think that they would respect the fact it is not a popular thing to do and could cause more violence in that area. Bad judgement on the Muslims that are doing this.

  7. He would be more of a muslim extreamist if he did not approve of the right to build that mosque on private property. This is what the consittution is about. This is a hard case, but the correct decision is clear cut and has been made. I do not see us stopping the building of churches in Oklahoma City after the bombings there.

  8. Alex it's funny how your all about the Constitution for this building of hate and against all things Christian . The point here is just because you can build it should you build it ? Who you and the Idiot Tom have an issue with the KKK putting a building on ground zero ? They could do it but it doesn't make it right ! As an American I reserve the right to protest things I disagree with !

  9. "could cause more violence...." The people that want to commit more violence will do so regardless of this mosque.

  10. "just because you can build it should you build it"

The president's job is to uphold the constittuion (as you guys remind us everyday) regardless of whether he thinks it's right or not. It's the same reason he brought up the suit against AZ

  11. what ever happened to turn about is fair play? all those muslims in one place at one time? some radical catholic follower will do the same, then try to build a church there. i say keep going through that cycle until all religions are wiped out.

  12. The second amendment gives you the right to carry a gun. However, it is law that it is not appropriate to carry a gun in schools and bars. You have free speech according to the second amendment, but there are rules about the appropriate time to express your free speech rights. For example, you can't stand up and start shouting out your beliefs in Congress, but you can protest in the appropriate area outside. It is not appropriate to build a mosque in the immediate area of Ground Zero. It is sacred ground much like a Civil War battlefield. No one is saying they can't have their freedom of religion, it just isn't appropriate to build a mosque just to stick their religon in our faces.

  13. 10:23 Well then why did he interject himself into the racial issue resulting in a beer summit ? Where is that in the Constitution ? Obama is not a Constitutionalists and has shredded it !

  14. Alex and Tom I won't let you silence my voice I can and will protest ! Discrimination and slavery were legal too and without opposing voices it still would be and you can thank the Christian church for ending that !

  15. 10:13 I never said that I agree with building of the mosque. Frankly, I find it distasteful and unnecessary, but that does not make it unconstitutional. BTW the president also "questions the wisdom of the decision".

  16. @11:00

How are we "silencing your voice"? I was just merely stating the FACT that is is blocks away from Ground Zero, in a building that already exists (which is a former Burlington Coat Factory). It's not even within view of Ground Zero. Please give your fake persecution complex a rest.

  17. Alex your the only one talking about the Constitution . I haven't seen anyone say it's against the law . If you find it distasteful then your a better person then our President !

    ReplyDelete
  18. 10:56, YOU say it's not appropriate. The law says that it is. That's the point. Thanks for helping to prove it with your examples.

10:58 an arrests allegedly based on race speaks directly to the spirit of the constitution. Not sure about your point there, but I'm sure you will fill us in.
You guys and your hyperbole. Please explain this "shredding of the constitution" as well as explain how many of your rights have been taken away now that we are almost 2 years into this administration.

  19. TOM DAVIS is pro Islam because he agrees with the abuse and domination of women !

    ReplyDelete
  20. 11:36 There was no arrest based on race ! It was about an arrogant black man breaking into a house and a cop investigating it who happened to be white . The cop was the victim where is the apology ?

  21. This is an act of provocation the same group has a Mosque 12 blocks away .

  22. obama is the next thing to cancer.
I get ill just hearing the name.
I now call him "Sue" , it sounds a little better.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Obama is out of touch with the average American .

    ReplyDelete
  24. 12:16, the issues was an arrest percieved to be racially motivated, hence the word "allegedly".

    ReplyDelete
  25. 12:58 What ? The issue was a person saw someone climbing into a window and called the police Gates drunk assumed it was because he was black since he is a race baiter by trade .Obama felt the need to call the officer who had no choice but to investigate " STUPID " ! And that's where the issues lies .

  26. Bottom line Obama stepped in it with he failed beer summit and did it again with buddying up with the people who attacked us.

  27. So i guess the NYC and federal law also side with Al Queda. Get it together.

  28. I think this proves for everyone Obama is a Muslim . Not that I really care but why does he hide it ?

  30. 3:22, and I guess mayor Bloomberg is too huh?

    ReplyDelete
  31. 3:40 typical liberal you can't defend so you change the subject !

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's always fun to watch uneducated, small minded people fight over something they have no grasp on. Keep it going folks! Keep believing this country is only Christian and white!

    ReplyDelete
  33. 4:10, let me slow things down so you can follow with the rest of us.

3:22 said "I think this proves for everyone Obama is a Muslim". "this" obviously being Obama's statements on this issue which essentially run parallel to Bloomberg's on this issue.

    Reading is fundamental.

  34. 4:23...uneducated and small minded?...oooohhhh enlighten us o brilliant one....you are so smart...gosh I am soooo impressed by your comment....since you are so educated maybe you can tell us why the muslim religion is so depraved and it's human rights violations against women are so horrific...this will be promoted in their "community center"

  35. rather funny to see all this hooplah over a Muslim Cultural Center a couple blocks away. Nobody seems to be willing to mention that there is already a Muslim Mosque only 4 blocks from ground zero that has stood there for over 40 years, predating the building of the Twins.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 4:23 Your a clear America hating racist just like Obama .

    ReplyDelete
  37. 1:18 What does that have to do with this mosque issue?
