Dr. Laura did nothing wrong all she did was show her frustration with hypocrites who want special treatment . As for Al "The Racist " Sharpton it's laughable he thinks an apology isn't enough ...where's his apologies to everyone he offends ?
More often than not, you know for a fact that the same white people itching to "publicly" say this word have serious issues (fear, malice, anger) towards blacks. This is clearly lacking when a black comic uses this word. That comic will make jokes on whites and blacks but more often than not acknowledge a universal love for all. The difference is using the word for hateful purposes. Not to mention that many people (such as myself) will use the N-word 'descriptively" when talking about any race. Whites use it exclusively towards blacks.
Whats funny is that when a black man talked about the need to have this discussion (Eric Holder: we are a nation of cowards for not having this discussion) he was skewered in the media and by conservative pundits. These are the same people running to this woman's defense who was out to say the same thing ('we can't seem to have an open discussion on this")
Oh, PLEASE! Give me a break! While she was addressing an issues of a mixed couple, and the wife's concerns over her husban's friends comments over race, she was trying to make a poing that there is a double standard in using the N word - simply, if you are black and use the word, it's acceptable, but if white and do the same, it's wrong. I agree with Joe's comment that it is just wrong all the way around. Now, to be sure, for touting herself as such a learned individual, she could have addressed the issue by simply refrencing the word as "the N word" and saved herself a few headaches, but my guess is that she did it to bring attention to herself and drive up those ratings - think about it - did you hear of her daily before this? Nope - just create some controvesy and bingo! Instant ratings! how about we just all refuse to accept that word, and any other racially made statement as wrong - PERIOD!

ReplyDelete12:19 If that's the best you can do shut up ! Or at least call me a racist .
ReplyDeleteHow is it any different from any hip-hop song? Every other word is the N word and I find THAT offensive but the idiots keep listening to it
ReplyDeleteLet me ask ALL of you something. While the N-Word may be used by some music artists, DOES IT MAKE IT RIGHT?
ReplyDeleteIt is offensive no matter how you look at it.
