REVIEW: The Shorebirds aim to wrap up the series win in game four against the Power. West Virginia plated five runs in the first four innings last night to cruise by Delmarva.
FIRST ROAD SERIES WIN SINCE: The Shorebirds have not won a road series since the Asheville series at McCormick field between April 28 and May 1 (3-1). The Shorebirds have lost the last five road series to: Kannapolis (1-3), West Virginia (1-3), Hickory (1-3), Greensboro (1-3) and Lexington (0-3).
TIED FOR LEAGUE LEAD: Mikey Planeta is tied for the South Atlantic League in outfield assists with nine. Destin Hood of Hagerstown and Leandro Castro of Lakewood also have nine assists.
PLAYER TO WATCH: STEVE BUMBRY
Bumbry has three multi-hit games in his last five. He has 22 multi-hit games on the season. Bumbry takes a three-game hit streak into game four against West Virginia. He did not strike out last night for the first time in five games. The 12th rounder for the Orioles in 2009 is batting .355 away from Perdue Stadium (38-107) and just .231 at home (30-130). Bumbry is also hitting better against righties (.292) than lefties (.276).
