Thank God Crown Vic Parts Are A Dime A Dozen & No One Was Hurt

This morning a Wicomico County School Bus was driving backwards on Old Ocean City Road and backed directly into a Sheriff's Cruiser.

JUST KIDDING!

This is an update of this morning's Post where a School Bus was in an accident and through comments we quickly learned it involved a Sheriff's Deputy.

We have not received a Press Release from the Sheriff's Office in reference to the details of the accident but no one can deny, the Sheriff's Department has seen its unusually high share of accidents over the past few years.

Rumor has it that Sheriff Lewis is considering Bicycle Patrol for his Staff if they can't stay clear of BIG YELLOW BUSES!

  2. Is it really difficult to avoid the largest, brightest, slowest things on the road? Honestly I have had my share of "road hazards" but Buses have never been an issue for me. Maybe I didn't stick with law enforcement classes long enough.

  5. Bet the deputy was on his cell phone or looking down at his fancy laptop.

Bet he won't be ticketed like the rest of us would.

  6. Bet the Deputy thought all was ok to hit that big yellow thing with "school Bus" written on the side because it didn't have one of those $1850 flashing lasers on top flashing to tell everyone to stay away.

She would probably do a better job on bike patrol downtown than the existing city police person that you only see two times a week.

  24. In recent weeks there have been vehicle vs school bus accidents, I don't recall so much grief thrown their way....it is true police screw up from time to time too! Go figure and here so many thought they were perfect...geesh lighten up people it happens. No children were injured so chalk it up to an OOPS I bet she/he will pay more attention next time.

  25. This pisses me off. If I ran into a school bus because I was texting, looking at laptop, WHATEVER the reason, I'd have the BOOK thrown at me. Reckless driving charge, points on license, jacked insurance rates.

But since it's a LEO, everyone is laughing and saying no big deal? Bike patrol jokes? WTF is that ???

I just don't get this attitude that 'oh well, it was an accident'. Damn right it was an accident! A hell of an accident that any civilian would paying through the nose for, for several years.

Please someone explain to me how since an LEO was at fault, everyone laughs and says no big deal, ha ha.

  26. Completely agree with 10:03. People find it so easy to judge and assume they know what happened when they have no idea. Texting was not involved at all for everyones information and yes when something like this happens disciplinary action is taken. I suppose the next time some jo blow runs into anything on the streets of salisbury we can post pictures all over the blog and make stupid ridiculous comments about them too.

  28. Was the policeman issued a ticket? Seriously, I want to know. If not, why not? If other county workers break the law they are not above the law.

  29. She was drunk with a loaded weapon... wait, no that is the domain of our attorney.

  30. Most officer would love to just get a cheap ticket after an accident. Instead most departments take away several days worth of vaction or comp time. Give me a $130 ticket any day, much cheaper than taking 30 hours of leave.

  31. accidents happen. Just because wicomico county has the greatest sheriff in the world doesn't mean his deputies are just as great. Speaking for myself i have had an accident where I was at fault, shoot professional race car drivers have them all the time.

  32. Welcome to the eastern shore 10:16. Rules only apply here when its convenient to enforce them. Not to mention the near nonexistent integrity from the local population. How ANYONE can think this place is so great only proves the level of ignorance that is present here.

  33. Joe, I don't get it. The fire department goes off the edge of the road with their engine and they get BLASTED by your blog. However, when your buddy Mike's boys (or girl in this case) rearend a school bus WITH KIDS. You laugh it off. Double standard much?

  34. anonymous 8:27, Hey A-Hole, the WCSO didn't just spend $25,000,000.00 in new buildings and equipment, so STFU, JT.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That's it, the next time I respond to an accident I'll make sure EVERYONE gets a ticket. You idiots want to act that way, have at it. Game on...
How many miles and hours do Police drive a day or much more a year, and without an accident? Countless...and then you want to cry and whine? HA!

  36. THIS NOT DIRECTED AT ALL OFFICERS JUST THE ONES THAT TAILGATE...

Time and time again police officers speed up behind me and I panic right away... NOT because I'm afraid I'm going to get pulled over but because they tail so closley behind (what is considered a traffic offense for civilians). It scares me when any one does it but at least I dont have to worry about getting pulled over if I speed up and get out of the way to give myself a safe distance from a civilian driver. So I become paniced and distracted and afraid to speed up and give myself safe distance because then risk of being pulled over for speeding... SO why do they do this and allowed to get away with it? They are supposed to make us feel safer on the road not panicked and distracted...

  37. I bet he/she gets off scott free. It will be determined that the road was wet and it caused him not to be able to slow down in time. But if it were a civilian, they would get a ticket for following to closely and not maintaining a safe speed to avoid an accident.

that was a real mature comment. how do immature personalities get to be a cop?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Just to let all you jerks know, she and the bus driver & 4 children on the bus at the time are all OK and nobody was injured. Regarding the comment about getting rid of the old fleet, that car was an '05 model. To 10:17, the roads were not wet and no determination to that effect has been made.

Looking at all of the other REAL MATURE comments made on this blog by those that are not cops the should show you that the world is full of immature personalities cop or not. You are just pissed off he/she made a good point mature or not.

sorry, i missed any point he ( you ) made, except the one about abuse of power. why are cops on this blog anyway? give up on catching criminals?

  42. i just hope there was no engine damage done, and if so i hope they don't use the same shop as salisbury fire because who wants to pay 5000 for a new engine, but it always seems the BIG folks down town always have the right anwser, how about that 85000 dump truck ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Come on, let's get real here...if a civilian did this, it would have been front page news and the driver would have been cited. The cops in this town get away with so much - speeding being the primary offense, among others. Was this an accident/mistake - sure! We all make them, but cops, district attorneys, and those with enough money for the right attorney seem to be above the law and I, for one, am tired of it. Everyone should be held to the same accountability and the same consequences...
