Quality Care At PRMC?

"Mr Albero

I wanted to see if any of your readers had experienced what I had to endure today at PRMC. I was in the process of getting paperwork completed to have my father admitted per his doctor's orders. The woman I had to deal with had a name I cannot pronounce, I believe La'Reishqua or something along those lines. She was extremely short with me and rolled her eyes everytime I had a question or something clarified. You can never be too careful, especially if you don't want the bills to come directly to you!

To top this off, she was listening to some of the most vile rap music I have heard. I'm not proclaiming to be a hard core Christian, but in a public place and dealing with those who need medical attention, offensive music really should not be allowed. I have called the hospital administration without any success. Since you seem to have some pull within this community, maybe we can show PRMC that they need to take better care of their customers and provide a more pleasant customer service experience- especially when you are caring for sick family members.

Have a good day"

  2. Try Atlantic General! They are wonderful and caring and you will be surprised when you find out about 30% of their nurses live in Salisbury. I live in Salisbury and had eye surgery done down they. They were wonderful

  3. my two year old was taken there by ambulance from her doctors office. when I arrived, I encounter someone at the ER desk who sounds very much like La-whoever. I was told my daughter wasn't in the computer so I'd have to wait 30 to 45 minutes til it was updated so they could find her. I argued that all ambulances are traiged in the same area, and asked her to call the nurses station. She would not and said check back in half an hour. Finally, a very kind security card intervened and allowed my access to the back area to find my child.

  4. I've had three ER visits and one visit to imaging at PRMC and I have never seen anything "bad". I have always been served quickly and everyone has been friendly as well as professional.

With all the complaints I hear the only thing I can say is never step foot in dorchester general or you might go ballistic.

  6. what part of the hospital were your dealing with exactly? She does have a boss and should be accountable

and no Rap music of any kind should be playing in patient areas. Call Karen Poisker's office and she can help you with this problem

  8. Over the years, I've been in PRMC's outpatient lab/dept, same day surgery, inpatient surgery, and even their sleep lab. I've never had anything but competent, compassionate care at PRMC.

  9. I was born there and will probably die there!

  10. 2:21,

Glad you are convinced it was incompetence. I guess no one else saw it that way though. Keep your paranoid rants to yourself.

  11. I work at PRMC and I have to admit that I have seen people get care that was not top quality, but in the same night seen that same person who delivered not so quality care save a person's life. People I work with know what they are doing, our hospital has not won the awards it has by delivering shotty care. Misdiagnosis is going to happen anywhere, even your precious Johns Hopkins, do people think you can't die there too?? PRMC is top notch or I would not associate my name with that place and I have worked at hospitals in the city and all this goes both ways, you can get quality care or $hitty care.

This is the mostvgod forsaken hospital I have ever been to. You are labeled as soon as you enter. Lasiest workers I have ever sen in my life. And you want proof I got it. Over and over and over again. If you don't want to hear how the water is parted then don't get me started. Piss poor quality of a hospital thatvi wouldn't take my dogb to. And that's a fact

  12. There is good and bad...the lab that draws blood has always been excellent. The bad...PRMC misdiagnosed my child's cancer; thank goodness for John Hopkins! Once they screw-up with your child, the trust is gone and is never coming back!

  13. Hmm, well it comes down to we hire people not capable to handle the jobs because of race. So yes it is a race thing, we have to have so many Laquesha's working for the hospital or they lose their funding. It does not matter if she is good or what she does. All they will do is slap her wrist or move her somewhere else in the hospital.

Yes their are qualified people of all races there, but we have to keep that quota so there are more of those rude stupid people there to.

Have you checked customer service on any number of companies? Wow, as soon as you call they have an attitude like why did you call. I dont have to lissen to yo stuff I in charge here.

It is where we are going, and yes I worked at PRMC, PGH whatever you want to call it.

I wish I was Indian, only race that is left alone now.

  14. They Suck period end. P.R.M.C. can pay for all the awards they want. They suck too many people dying there becuase of poor staffing. What do you want this is not the Big leagues. All the great Docs are at Hopkins and Univ Maryland. We got third stingers playing the the biggest game of all LIFE.

  15. My grandmother was at PRMC for a week due to surgery, and as an outpatient for over 6 months. She was treated exceptionally well by all staff (white, black, hispanic, etc...). While there is always a bad apple, you should not judge everyone based on that bad apple.

  16. She (La ? ) who checked me in several months ago. If not, she has a twin in the emergency room checkin area. This gal acted like she could care less that I was there with a broken bone. Everyone else in the emergency was soooo pleasant and so very helpful where as this lazy gal....well, she was more interested in her what was going on in her world! Geesh!

  17. If your injuries are not life threating you should try the private urgent care's that are popping up. I went to one and they are fast and polite. I bet 90% of the people they get got pissed off from waiting too long at the ER at either of the hospitals!

  18. Take your complaint to PRMC, not the public blog. Did you even give PRMC a chance to rectify the situation before you blasted them on here?

    1. Prmc doesn't care . Plain and simple. Ifvthey did you would have a name of a person to call and talk to . Who is itb and how do we get in contact with them and all they do is nothing. Goes in one ear and right out the other. Poorest qualitybhospital I have ever been to. And that's a fact. I have story after story. Wantvto hear them just let me know and ill tell you how the water is parted so please just get me started.

  19. Well people think just a little if you need a trama center you have to go there. And they have excellent trama staff and surgical staff.

  20. I've been a patient at PGH and Atlantic General. I will never return to PGH or Johns Hopkins...Last month I was hospitalized four days at Atlantic General and received excellent care. And I have been an RN for 35 years. Thanks for a safe place on the shore.

  21. AGH gets you in & out quick but not correctly diagnosed in any of my experiences. They serve you w a prescription of antibiotics & pain meds and off you go. You may spend the day @ PRMC waiting to be seen but at least you'll be taken care of before your sent on your way.

  22. Rap is not music. It is reading with a rhythm beat. A tribal beat that makes you wonder what country you are standing in. Twice, I have had to yank the plug out of the socket after asking the employee to turn the volume down. I don'tplan on shopping again at these establishments. A little force is necessary at times.I'll pay the fine if necessary.

  23. personally all i would like to see is PRMC fail fincially and crash and burn .... be glad you dont live in the neighborhood that used to surround that vile place ... PRMC needs to be stopped from growing in size bigger does not mean better and thanks to that monolyth my whole neighbor hood has disappeared around me. i am only 1 of the last 3 families living on center street. that place just disgusts me and so does the city for allowing it to happen in the first place. Id love to meet the person whose idea it was to buy up all of the homes here and kick their teeth down their throat. It seems to me that parking lots are more important in this town than some of the people that have no place to live at all

  24. Someone mentioned the CNA's on staff-when my daughter was born at PRMC I had a terrific CNA who not only cared for me physically but was a great comfort to me when my child was put in NICU.Theres good and bad in all professions but some CNA's are dedicated and working to support themselves so they can finish nursing school.Dont knock them all

  25. PRMC is cutting 11 Telemetry nuring positions and several other critical care RN positions!!!! That place is going straight down the crapper!!!! NO STAFFING!!! Pollish a turd and it is still a turd!!

  26. In the past couple years, we have been to PRMC's emergency room many times. We have had good experiences specifically with Mark Cotter-PA. We have had the worst experiences with Michelle Parson-I think she is doctor. She is the nastiest and rudest doctor I have ever met.
The staff thinks every there is trying to get pain medicine!!

  27. When PRMC had the womens center on pemberton they used to throw into the trash "copy ribbons" that were used to make labels, which had ALL your personal patient information on them. When I found one rolling around the parking lot (I worked in an adjoining office), I called to complain and their attitude was "oh well it happens". Management at the hospital could have cared less. If I were a criminal it could have been fun times of identity theft for me!

  28. Patient care is going to suffer even more at the hospital, they are on a hiring freeze for nurses and cutting positions. They aren't filling positions when people leave any department leaving the place under staffed which means patient care at some point is going to suffer. I was hospitalized there once and over night I heard the overheard paging system call 3 code RR's, and 2 code blues, I saw the same girl in light blue scrubs run by my room at least 3 of those times, by the time she walked back by the third time she looked absolutely exhausted, I am sure she had some kind of assignment somewhere else in the hospital not to just run to these incidents. The administration needs to make sure that hospital is well staffed and maybe people will return there when they hear of the quality service they are getting, most of the bitter employees you meet are that way because they are over worked and under paid, same way as with every other job, but we are dealing with people's lives here.

  30. I've had three experiences at PRMC, all through the ER, one of which went on to ICU. All three times, the ER personnel were just downright rude and the nurses in all areas were the most unfeeling, inconsiderate people I've ever had the misfortune to meet. The docs make no attempt to provide info to the family, and don't even pretend to care. I know these events are their every day norm, but aren't they supposed to even fake some concern? The place disgusts me. I hear so many negatives in the community that I know I am far from alone. Oh, and if you DO go, make sure you check your bills - lots of "mistakes" are made. Just how non-profit IS PRMC?

  31. We had a really bad experience at Johns Hopkins, so I guess it depends on who you ask. It was with a specific doctor who our son was referred to.
