ReplyDeleteThe Daily Times is going to press at 7:30pm tonight and they expect the carriers to go out and deliver papers in this mess. They also only pay the carriers 8 cents per paper to deliver them. Do they really think anyone in rural areas expect a paper delivered when there are 4 and 5 foot drifts in the roads. I know right now on Rockawalkin Road there is a car that has been left in the road because the driver couldn't get through. The drifts on the other side of the road are higher than the car.
ReplyDeleteGreg Bassett, Joe Carmean and his reporters should get off their asses and go deliver the papers themselves.
3:40pm That's tellin' 'em! Those at the top who make more $$ should put themselves in that position. The newspaper is a dying industry and they are scraping the bottom of the barrel! Never ask an employee (or contractor in this case) to do something you would not do yourself!
ReplyDelete3:07pm Thank God you were wrong! You can't go by what people put on blogs. WBOC reported 5 people taken to AGH and 2 w/serious injuries, but not life threatening. Glad it was not worse! I can see it both ways about the photos. If someone was dead or critically injured, they should not have their picture taken and some sick people would try to do just that I'm sure. Maybe WBOC was just trying to provide a service so others could see what was involved.
