You should look to let the animals with the larger racks live as long as possible so that they continue to mate move their genetic superiority forward. Leaving the spikes, forks and other genetically inferior animals to mate year after year and killing off those having superior genes will assure that future generations have only small racks to look at. Remember, hunters and farmers were the first conservationists.
This is only about a 2- 2 1/2 year old deer. Good genetics. Let him go another 2 years and your will really like to see how he matures. He will be a great deer then.
I saw him in my backyard this morning. In a few weeks he'll be in my freezer.
