Former Salisbury Fire Chief See Suspended From The Delmar Fire Department

Former Salisbury Fire Chief David See has been suspended from the Delmar Fire Department for violations of protocol.

Before Chief See retired from the Salisbury Fire Department, several Firefighters confronted David See about his facial hair. According to protocol, you cannot have such hair as it interferes with oxygen masks as well as a hazard to fire conditions. Clearly I'm not a Firefighter, so we can expect to get the actual details from a Firefighter who can spell this out more clearly.

Nevertheless, it's been reported that David See was sent a letter asking him to remove the facial hair from the Delmar Fire Department and as it was stated to me, he's so arrogant he simply refuses to do it, therefore he was suspended.

It has also been reported that there are now less than a hand full of Volunteers left at Station 16. I have been stating this for years Folks, they relocate, the Volunteers will not follow and I was right. While See & Gordy became VERY upset at me for making that statement twice on PAC 14, what say you now Boys? There are currently less than a hand full of active Volunteers at Station 16 and anyone trying to come on here and state I'm wrong is a liar. There may be names on the roster but there are less than 5 active Volunteers.

Oh, we're nowhere near done with this story. Sit tight Folks, it's about to get a whole lot better!!!! You know those new Fire Trucks that were ordered by the Boys with Big Toys. Well, there were more than SIXTY trips made to the manufacture to inspect each unit. Mind you, that could mean only 6 trips with 10 people at a time but I'm told that's NOT how it happened. I did confirm that the number of trips is absolutely accurate. This does NOT include ALL of the overtime pay for Firefighters having to cover those 60 trips. MORE information you won't read in the Daily Times.

So why didn't YOU know about it. Because See & Gordy HID it into the cost of the purchase and piggybacked the purchase along with other orders so o one would know. Oh wait, it gets better! Yesterday, Comegys didn't want a budget amendment so THIS information wouldn't be made public and or open to public discussion! It failed, you now know about it and I would suggest each and every one of you taxpayers show up at the next City Council Meeting and let him have it.

It has also been reported that the Career Firefighters are livid right now because there's all this talk about layoffs and salary cuts, yet See & Gordy were able to get all these multi million dollars worth of equipment, yet the City can't afford to man it. Oh, now get this! Would you believe that Gordy wants to try to come to the City Council and propose that Station 16 can be run from 5:00 PM at night to 7:00 AM seven days a week by Volunteers. That's right Folks, Gordy and Comegys WILL one way or another do ANYTHING to prove they don't have to provide those 24 hours on and 72 hours off. Comegys & Gordy will do anything to change these shifts and they're scheming any which way but loose to get her done. I don't know about you Folks but there's just no way the Volunteers, (with all due respect) can run Fire & Ems each and every evening.

In closing, there were 8 Firefighters at Chief See's Retirement Party. Three Fire Departments were pressured into putting up $2,700.00 EACH to pay for this party and then Gordy told them they had to pay $38.00 per person to attend. Hence only 8 Firefighters being deeply persuaded into giving up money they had raised through fundraising or some other source to pay for someone most Volunteers couldn't stand in the first place. Sounds like another fishing trip to me. He wasn't welcome in Salisbury and now he's not welcome in Delmar. Karma is a bitch, isn't it. As for Bill Gordy, I also hear his time will be short lived in Salisbury as well. I'm told he'll stick around until a new Fire Chief is on board and then he's out of here. He's already purchased property down south and he plans on going just as soon as he can. I heard he traded the Exxon in Cambridge for property down south.

Make sure you attend the next Council Meeting and challenge these Folks running the Fire Department. The Mayor will face more budget cuts, that's a guarantee. Sooner or later they'll be forced to start laying people off, just like real business owners in the real world. Soon enough taxpayers will place enough pressure on our Elected Officials to do something, yet Gordy is still fighting for a new Fire Boat. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. You know that new Hazmat Trailer. Well, they're ordering a new rig to pull it. OK, you may have known that, yet you can't afford it. However, Gordy is trying to pull ANOTHER fast one. He wants another trailer for another emergency application and when they were going to decide on the lettering, Gordy told them he wanted Hazmat on the rig. Everyone said, NO, we shouldn't have ANY lettering on it so we can use it for the other emergency trailer. Gordy replied, don't worry about it. I'm going to order another rig for that trailer too.

See you at the next Council Meeting Folks.

  1. Shave it off, just that simple. It's a NFPA regulation not to have facial hair obstructing your face mask. It's good to see a Volunteer Fire Department enforcing a rule. Moustaches were fine to a certain extent. Beards and goatees are a no no.

  3. Lets say they get all this Special Operations Equipment. Who is going to operate it? Who is going to show up to the "missions" On paper they have trained people. On paper it looks good. When was the last time the Salisbury Special Operations Team actually had quarterly training as they say they do? Can the Trench Team complete a call if needed? Whos going to show up to work the call. Its time for the county to pick up the slack. Ryan where you at?

  4. David See and Bill Gordy as kids...

"This Christmas I want a pony and a toy train and a redrider BB gun and a $14,000,000 fire palace and a $1,200,000 fire truck and a $800,000 hazmat truck and a $700,000 fire boat..."

Hey Gordo, SANTA IS BROKE! Don't you get it?

Folks, look on the bright side...if the City buys them the fire boat, it might not cost as much to send them out on fishing trips-In the long run we could end up on top!

  5. Yes, Gordy wants a second rig to pull the other trailer. He wants to lettering on the first one right away, claiming he's going to order a second one.

  10. these two guys will never learn. they act like the check book has no bottom. i vote that if these two men want something they should have to pay for it themselves. they are like the politicians, they dont get IT!!! keep up the good work joe. thanks sjd

  11. Getting the grants because someone else will if we dont will not help the NATIONAL DEBT. This country is paying $800,000,000.00 a week to China in interest only, there isnt any money tree. Just the sweat of the American working class.

  18. One of these days you people will realize See never was chief of Salisbury Fire Department. Gordy is the chief, always was, and will continue to be. If Hoppes has any hopes of succeeding in becoming the next fire chief he must rid himself of Gordy fast. Weather or not Hoppes is a Gordy fan there’s a thing called guilt by association.

  19. Gordy threatened station one at one of our meetings to give him the money or loose your charter. What kind of crap is that? Give it or else screw you man.

  20. I commend the Chief of Delmar for making a stand. The fire service has a grooming regulation for breathing apparatus for firefighter protection. Dave See must feel he is above the rules. When he was Chief he would have crusified anyone violating his policies. Just shows that he wa a fake with his firefighter safety bullshit. You dont need him Delmar.

  21. See & Gordo are untouchable or so they think.

  22. This is old news Joe, but pretty accurate. The spending is out of control and there aint nobody gonna stop old Gordo. The same old 3 to 2 with play out again and again and the taxpayers will lose. This time the firefighters will lose too because all the toys they have bought has put the City in a financial pinch. The two ladies tried to tell Gordy that they should not buy so much at a time. Did he or See listen ? NO!
Its no big secret that Gordy is running the fire department and has been for years. The volunteers are angry and frustrated with threats and intimidation. They have been robbed and taken for all yhey have to buy THE BIG TOYS. The Vollies at Station 16 only get a few to come back to calls. Gordy and son have chased them away. A bunch of names on paper and nobody doin anything. Please dont blame the firefighters fo what is going on in Salisbury. They have no voice in what goes on. Theyre just trying to survive in the turmoil of the SFD. Your on to something here Joe and its bigger than you think.

    Well you said a mouthfull.

  26. You idiots put him there and you can take him out. Make your voice heard and let the council and mayor know what is going on. This is a place to start, but you have to come strong with politians. They are the people who can cure your ills and get the spending in check. In this economic climate they would love to hear about wasteful spending. Send the Big Boys packing with their toys.

  27. Well, Mayor Fireton must be on board because he is already cutting cars out of the police budget when they have to beg for one car a year to replace junk with 150K miles on it.

  28. Take a few cars from fire headquarters they only have six out back at any given time.

Wrong its in Crisfield right now what do you think about that?

Have you seen the dozens of cars sitting behind the Salisbury Police Department. That's right dozens of cars. Why do the ranking officers like Mienshien, Webster and Tyler need take home cars.

By the way the 3 of the six behind the fire headquarters have over 150,000 miles on them and they are about 15 years old. Give it a break will ya.

  32. anonymous 7:17, with all due respect, I own 15 cars. 2 of them have well over 150,000 miles on them and they are the two I drive the most. You young punks are so damn spoiled, it's all about the image of being new, isn't it. I drive them the majority of the time just in case I piss a young buck like you off and you decide to damage one of them one way or the other. No sense in running around in one of my 3 Mercedes, right. Be happy there's something to drive at all because if I was your Boss and I knew who you were writing that comment, I'd take your car away for 6 months, no questions asked.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't want to miss making this comment as well. STAY THE "F" OUT OF THE LADDER TYRUCH THEN! You guys are racking up the miles on them like there's no tomorrow and then you come back here like little biotches complaining there's too many miles on things. Perhaps if you used something else to get your coffee and luxuries every single day, three times a day, (at least) there wouldn't be all those miles on those vehicles. Start acting like men and own up to your actions. Oh, that's right, you're anonymous, you're not a man at all.

  34. The worst thing that could happen to the city fire department is that Mayor Ireton appoints Hoppes to fire chief. The best thing would be to appoint someone who is very familiar with the internal problems and resolves them immediately. The bottom line is the troop do not want Gordo and Hoppes in power any longer.

  35. Joe, You missed to point to 7:17am. What they were saying was a rebuttal to the previous comment about the SPD cars having 150,000 miles on them. They are saying 3 of the six SFD cars have 150,000 miles on them so what is the point to taking the SFD cars?? Tit for Tat, but thanks anyway.

And I agree the young punks Little Gordo, should stay off they ladder truck. They are putting way to many miles on it and wasting precious fuel.

  36. The new fire boat is not here yet. The current fire boat is in crisfield for the 2nd or 3rd time this year.

  38. Another Blast From the Past Worthy of a Post!!

"It has also been reported that there are now less than a hand full of Volunteers left at Station 16."

And guess what, it is even less than that handful now days thanks to the Fat Lazy Bum Hoppes and the Worthless John Tull who carried the See Gordy Torch to get rid of the Volunteers in the Salisbury Fire Department so that they could hire more Fahrmon. Yes it's true. Remember the 12 paid fireman from the Federal Grant that the City and County tax payers had to pay for.

Hoppes and Tull have ruined the Salisbury Fire Department. Their spending spree has not ended. They just took possession of 3 brand new ambulances. Did we tax payers just purchase 3 brand new ambulances 3 years ago? You mean to tell me they could buy one a year if it was that desperate of a purchase??? Those diesel ambulances are supposed to last fire departments at least 10 years, not 3. They had one older ambulance that had less that 50,000 miles on it and they got rid of it.
