Public Plan Would Allow Abortion Coverage

Federal funds are now restricted to specific cases involving rape, incest

WASHINGTON
- Health care legislation before the U.S. Congress would allow a new government-sponsored insurance plan to cover abortions, a decision that would affect millions of women and recast federal policy on the divisive issue.

Federal funds for abortions are now restricted to cases involving rape, incest or danger to the health of the mother. Abortion opponents say those restrictions should carry over to any health insurance sold through a new marketplace envisioned under the legislation, an exchange where people would choose private coverage or the public plan.

  1. Of course it will allow abortions. The authors of the plan favor eugenics. Remember?

  2. Last time I checked abortion was legal and a medical procedure.

Using your logic I guess all cosmetic procedures and elective surgeries shoud also be covered. I guess boob jobs, tummy tucks and face lifts will become everyday procedures. You guys must really think money grows on trees.

  4. It is a legal procedure but I think too many people rely on it as a form of retroactive birth control.

  5. Why shouldn't it be? I'm sure viagra for old republicans will be allowed.

  6. Why should legal procedures be available only to the rich?

I wouldn't ever want an abortion, but I had a friend who had one when her contraception failed and the father was a s.o.b.

She has remarried and had children with the most wonderful man in the world (except mine, LOL!) It made all the difference in her life and I shudder to think what a child then would have endured.

It was a hard decision for her, but I think it's between her, her doctor and her God.

  7. How about required clippings of all Vas deferans? The best and easiest form of birth control. I know someone who gives a great discount.
