  1. What a terrible thing to say to that young man. soldiers like his grandfather committing suicide. What a self serving statement. He really didn't answer the kid's question.

  2. typical stupid statement from another politician. That shows you what he thinks of the people in his area. for some reason once people get in congress and their brains run out their toes. he evaded the question in an extremely offensive manner that brought shame on his office and position. thanks sjd

  3. Grandpa will continue to get socialized medicine. That is the right answer.

  4. I don't get it -- why are people offended by Kratovil saying we need to provide mental health care to returning soldiers?

    Maybe I am missing something.

  6. Does anyone disagree with what Frank had to say? Are you guys all for soldiers committing suicide or something?

  7. 3:21--

right on -- at least Frank tells it like it is, which the right wing-nuts can't stand (truth hurts them). Look for another effigy hanging real soon now.

  8. Thought folks may want to see the longer version where he actually answers the question about older veterans.... with folks cheering his answer at the end.

  9. Why is he talking to a child about how soilder like his grand pop commit suicide?

  10. Here is why, anon 3:56.

    From NPR -

    February 6, 2009

In January, 24 U.S. soldiers are believed to have committed suicide — seven confirmed cases and 17 more awaiting confirmation.

By comparison, last January there were only five suicides in the Army.

Last month's total is not just the highest monthly total since the Army started counting in 1980; it is more deaths than were sustained in combat last month by all branches of the armed forces combined.

  11. Is it me or are the posters between 3:21pm thru 4:04pm all the same guy deflecting and avoiding the issue: that Kratovil did not answer the question before him, in true Democrat fashion, he evaded by talking about suicides in the military. Get a life. It was an answer to a question not even asked and this little boy wasn't asking about these guys in the Army, he was worried about the upcoming eugenics project called Obamacare.

  12. Even with other version posted Mr. Kratovil still does not answer the question. He gives a no answer answer.

Still starting off with soldier suicides is not an appropriate way to address a 7yr old boy!

  13. Don't mind those posts. The reality is those are all his saff that are posting on here.

C'MON Kevin, polish that resume up boy, maybe the next guy the DNC will send you to is Barney Frank.....

I KNOW you'd like to be HIS staffer...

    Wouldn't you...

  14. With four boys of his own, you would expect Kratovil to know how to speak to a 7 year old but I guess the politician in him is just to much for him to control. I doubt Andy Harris would have given such a non-answer.

  15. The very fact that he claims that returning soldiers are "sick" (as in the head) baffles me. Seriously, I couldn't get past that part of his statement let alone consider the rest of his lame ass oratory.

  16. 3:10 nailed it. Grandpa and every other person over 65 will continue to get their socialized medicine.

  17. Grandpa being a retired veteran deserves his military healthcare. He earned it. Those sitting on their asses collecting welfare or feigned disability have earned nothing yet they benefit the most.

  18. Kevin is Kratovils biggest liability. What a dumb a$$.

  19. The question posed to Frank by little Alex was "how will this bill affect my grandfather who served in WWII?"

Although suicide increase among soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan is a real problem, I have not read of an increase of suicides among WWII vets recently. Frank could not even give a straight answer to an 8 year old.

So easy a caveman can do it!

  20. This is child abuse.

  21. WOw, that video is really is picking up the views, I wonder if Frank Kratovil, Ben Cardin, and Barbara Mikulski will be flying in union people to put a whippin on any dissent.
