  13. They never were going to have fireworks this year - you can't cancel something that was never scheduled to begin with.

  16. We're not ENTITLED to fireworks. Thanks in advance to anyone who steps up and puts them on. Times are tough, and this is an expensive endeavor. If the towns sponsor their tax payers might complain...and most private companies don't have the extra money right now.
Too bad. Maybe next year things will be more prosperous and we'll have choices of where to watch again.

  19. I was surprised that we had fireworks last year after the Jaycees gave them up after what seems like 50 years. It looks like nobody, not even the county government, has the resources to make this happen. Why is that?

  21. What a shame. We can celebrate just about anything else that a special interest group may promote, but we can't celebrate the birth of our country. This has nothing to do with Obama before you start bitching, just what we have come to.

    BOHICA!

    May God Bless America!

  27. According to this website...
    http://wjz.com/local/fireworks.displays.2.758298.html

The Shorebirds are listed as having their July 4th fireworks on July 3rd with a rain date of July 4th...
and Greenhill is on for July 4th at 9pm-no raindate (Always a good show)
They did not have one listed for Hebron, but last years' was great and should be on this year.

  28. It wasn't the radio station that made last years happen it was Frank Hamilton and I heard since he wasn't going to do it this year, it went away.

  29. Hebron volunteer fire department will be having fireworks again this year as in years past. The show in my opinion is impressive and patriotic to the day it represents. Mr. Albero was a visitor to our show last year having a front row seat, so he may be able to share an opinion. Although it seems every year we contend with weather we always manage to make our show go. Please come enjoy the fire works and if you get a chance patronize our carnival which starts up again on June 24.

  33. By an executive order, President Obama has cancelled the 4th of July holiday. In explaining his decision to cancel this truly American celebration, President Obama said, "I just felt Americans celebrating in light of all the injustices Americans have brought on people of other ethnicities and cultures over the history of America may be seen by all the other nations of the world as Americans reveling in their history of aggression. Instead of a day for fireworks and raucous celebration, I am urging every American to spend this 4th of July going up to a person not Anglo-Saxon and asking them for their forgiveness for the sins their ancestors most certainly committed. Let's call it a day of national cleansing and atonement."

  34. Heh. Willards might cancel theirs...but the "Pittsvillains" won't!
