Shorebirds Game Called For Heavy Rain And Flooding

Even though it was a big night for the CAC, nothing was going to stop the heavy rain, high winds and hail at the Stadium last night. It was not a pretty sight once the storm finally made it to Salisbury. Everywhere you went there was serious issues and we captured as much of it as we possibly could.

Fortunately for the CAC they were able to complete much of their fundraising before the storm actually hit. WMDT was able to make their announcements and then all heck broke loose.

  1. I was at the game when the storm hit and came down hard with all the rain and hail. That field got flooded in no time.

  3. The Shorebirds need a better way of deciding games. People go only to have storms like this happen, when technology showed it was going to happen. Doesn't chris bitters watch radar? it would make for better community relations. If Bitters had watched the weather, the game should've been called by 5:30 P.m. as you could see we were going to get blasted, if you had any common sense.

  4. Does the $3 parking fee refundable since the game was postponed? Gotta love the parking fee :)

  5. So many haters... considering there is really no way to tell how bad some storms over on West Side are, or if they are going to hit the Shore or fizzle out over the Bay (as they so often do)... it's hard to look into the crystal ball that is weather predicting and determine if this area is going to get hit.

I know of times I was going to go to a game and when I called to check they have been called off early this year - and I appreciate that forethought. (When, in the past, BP (before parking), I would get my family out there only to get soaked out...) so I do think they are making the effort in order to keep us happier.

And really, considering other Minor League teams charge $7-20+ dollars for parking, $3 isn't that bad.

I was wondering the same thing? Do we get the same seats we paid for. I paid for box seats and I don't want them to tell me I have to sit in the cheap seats.

  7. I've been rained out before, yes you get your same seats and yes you get a refund on parking, so stop hating our Birds and start supporting them! See ya out there! :)

  8. Hey Joe, Whats up with the parking fee? If the game is called off due to the rain, shouldn't you get your money back or a cupon for the next game?
