Just outside Brew River the Police finally arrived and shut down the road because of flooding. Clearly the City of Salisbury cannot handle such heavy rain and I have to tell you, I have never seen the river so high.
AND THE BIG NEWS IS..this has been happening at this intersection for 60 plus years. Way back when there was an Acme Store, a PURE Oil gas station and the original Curley's mens store any time there was a heavy rain that whole area would flood and the street would be closed until the water was able to drain. Check with Pete Cooper or George Chevallier.
I been in every damn one of those row-houses, 20 years ago. All of their old basements probably have at least six feet of water in them now. Could be a perfect time to CONDEM THEM for the betterment of Salisbury and the whole DOWNTOWN area. There water heaters are in the basement could be a gas situation.
It was high tide when the storm hit last night.
ReplyDeleteI hope it washed the scum off the streets
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there was a sewage spill into the river? Usually a storm like this will send thousands of gallons of sewage into the river.
