  3. Jim, I wish you the very best as Mayor of Salisbury, however, if tonight's vote regarding President and Vice President of the Council is what we are going to see, it's just going to be more of the same.

  4. A lot of gravity when the audience was prompted for a standing O for Barrie; none to welcome Jim! All went well until the 3-2 voted louweasel in as president. Well, you can't have it all in one night, I guess!

  5. Congratulations Jim!!! We are all so very proud of you! xoxo

  6. Best wishes Jim! Lets hope and pray that Shanie looses her seat, or we're back in the 3-2 mess again. I don't believe our voters are that dumb to let her get back in, or was it all the renters voting for her? Unfortunately, you can't get much done that needs doing against the 3-2 voting block.

Hey!!!! Who stole my punch line from Election Night? But anyway it is still funny and I am LMAO!!

That hag ran out of there tonight after that big fat suck up Pollitt gave her that Bullsh!t award. I saw her looking around to see who was clapping. Yep b!tch you looked right at me and I refused to clap or honor you.

Did anyone else see Bubba, Wilbur and Prick rolling eyes when Mayor Ireton was speaking?

  18. Mayor Ireton keep your eyes on the Internal Services Director.

  19. Not only was Gary rolling his eyes, that ignoramous was texting. SSDD is what I fear for the city.

Dinglebarrie was making sure he voted for Louweasel as President. No matter what many people think, Dinglebarrie will be in the picture for the next 2 years anyway. Bubba and Louweasel you and Shanie proved tonight that you can't think for yourself. What you did was sealed your fate on the city council. You 3 will never get re-elected again. It is time for a recall and I am going to work my butt off to assure that we get enough votes.

  21. Good Luck Jim. You have an uphill climb with this bunch on the Council. Only two of them will even know what you're talking about most of the time. I believe about the only way to change up this Council is for citizens to sign a petition to recall - especially if Shanie gets in there again.

  22. Congratulations Mayor Ireton, first you need to clean up the city of cancer, If your departments have cancer it will just spread. talk to the employees not the department head. the employees actually work. Best of luck to you, God Bless you.

  23. Best of luck to you Jim. Maybe the best thing that can be done is to bar all cell phones from council chambers. If those sitting at the table want to act like children, then they should be treated like they are in school - no texting, no cell phones period.

  24. Bubba and Louweasel can you hear this?

Tick Tock Tick Tock; you're getting voted out next!

Joe, It's time to start the Bubba/Weasel ticker now.

  25. 8:52 p.m. - Joe asked us to use this opportunity to send Mayor Ireton our best wishes. Instead, you trashed this post with your malicious garbage about Tilghman. I didn't like her reign any more than you did, but what possible purpose is served with your nasty and fictitious words on such a great occasion as tonight has been?
I assure you that in no way does it help Ireton to begin his term with "supporters" such as yourself.

Why don't you comment again with some genuine and perhaps encouraging words for him.

  26. For once we have a real major!
Up until now we've had tough times.
Just in time for some damn change!
And now we can have some need change!

Keep up the good work Jim, Joe, and Debbie!

  27. Ireton as Mayor wont matter. He cant beat the council. Barrie won even without running. Watch and see. She will control the council from the sidelines.
The mayor in this town really doesnt have much power unless they control the council. And Barrie did that and will continue to do so until one of the three ignorant members are voted out.
Citizens in Salisbury dont have the nads to try and recall a member of the council. It will be at least two more years of the same BS until the next election. Then you have to decide who will run that will actually be smart... Good luck salisbury... glad I dont live there.

  28. As a tax paying citizen I was very excited to be in the crowud and watch this historic event. I was very excited to be int the room with all of the supporters of the new mayor and councilwoman Campbell, but there was one thing that disturbed me. No offense Mayor Ireton, but your decision to name the Northeast Collector Road the Barrie Parsons Tilghman Parkway is just a feel good measure and it is wrong. That varmin doesn't derserve to have an outhouse named after her. With that said it would be more appropriate to name the failed wastewater treatment plant after her. That woman didn't even give you or the citizens the courtesy of watching your swearing in. She is so self centered that she ran out of the room ater she was taken out of the spotlight.

  29. Jim,

I have to agree with 6:00 am. In addition, for the visitors to Salisbury, we shouldn't have two Tilghman Roads, and having Beaglin Park road holding the same name from beginning to end would help people find their way around this town. If anything, rename the whole stretch College Avenue.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Congrats Jim!!!! I wish you nothing but success in your job as Mayor.

Now, let the campaign begin to vote out Comegeys and Smith.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Maybe renaming Smith or Barclay streets after Ms. Tilghman would be more appropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Congratulations Jim,
You have a long hard road ahead of you, but at least you have given the citizens of Salisbury some hope.

    ReplyDelete
  33. First, congratulations, Mayor Ireton!

Second, I feel the naming of a road after Tilghman was insulting after the abuse she did to people. Mr. Mayor, what were you thinking?

Third, I hope for the best but fear the worst, as those three council members blew us citizens off again in their pursuit of power.

The mayor doesn't have to control the council, just have cooperative people. Louise, Gary and Shanie proved (again) they won't be those people.

  34. This post is for Jim Ireton, tears come to my eyes when I think of how undaunting and optimistic all of us are about your election. Jim Ireton, you give us that energy and that optimism that you exude. Jim Ireton, you will help us help ourselves. We are the ones that have to get Shaney, Lying Louise, and Bubba to change their ways, or get out of our way. We've got half the job done, and we the citizens will help you help us get the rest of the job done. Congratulations, and god speed.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jim - Congratulations and I wish you the best in the uphill battle you are about to face.

Joe - Will you tell us where we can sign a recall petition for the three vermin on the Council.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Way to go Jim! I think we saw last night, though, that if you hesitate too long before making changes, the people who have been in charge of the city for so long will simply perceive this as another win and will continue to run this city. Have the courage and the strength to fight back for the citizens who have given you this office--we voted for change, and change is what we need. Force Comegys, Shields, and Smith to vote against your ideas, get them on record opposing good policy so we can crush them in the next election. We need you to stand strong for us, not move slowly. I believe you have the power to appoint boards--get rid of Insley.

    ReplyDelete
  37. He named the road to nowhere after her!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I join those opposed to re-naming Beaglin Park Rd after the former mayor. -- And I support the idea of naming the thing from beginning to end, not College Avenue, but University Parkway.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Congratulations, Mayor Ireton.

    I'm real happy you won.

But don't be so nice to those people. They are terrible to Mrs. Campbell. Mrs. Cohen, too. They were way over the top with you.

Don't turn your cheek too much or they'll eat your face off.

Glad I voted for you, but you gotta make some changes.
