WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THE PROBLEM AT THE ELECTION BOARD. CAN'T ANYONE COUNT. I CANT BELIEVE HOW THEY ARE DRAGGING THIS OUT. IT ISNT FAIR TO THE TWO CANDIDATES OR THE PUBLIC. SJD
I've explained this before, here it goes again: the reason they drag this out is a good one: they have to give overseas ballots (largely from the military) time to get over here. They always keep a certain number in reserve because of the following scenario: let's say they count ALL of the ballots and it is a tie today. On Friday a single overseas ballot arrives. Then there would be no anonymity, because when the results of the election were announced, we would know how that particular person voted. It is frustrating, but there is no way around it unless we want to go to internet voting, which seems to have even greater potential for voter fraud.
So, what does happen if Shields actually lives only in Princess Anne? Can she be legally seated in Salisbury or is she outside of the opertunity to be a council member in Salisbury? I would think so, so why the problem with the count since she is obviously not quallified to run for office in Salisbury?
This whole thing is amazing to me. Although probably a nice person, Shanie doesn't have any business in any position of responsibility, evidenced by her history and legal record.
Shanie is a likeable person, her associations have influenced her judgement and voting decsions and that is why District 1 needs a change.
This is the kind of person Debbie Campbell is, all of Shanie's acomplishments stated during the campaign, Rose Street w/SNHS and the Westbrook apartments would not have happened without the help of Debbie Campbell, however Debbie never made that an issue.
wow... that's amazing!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable -- many of the absentee ballots were challenged -- it's unclear how that will be resolved.
ReplyDeleteApparently the Board would not allow candidates reps to see the date stamp on the envelopes.
This is still Salisbarrie folks.
One honest question. Why do they draw all this out? Do it today adn get it over with.

Debbie has done more for District 1 than Shanie.
