The Salisbury Tax Day Tea Party

Salisbury, Maryland, March 30, 2009 —The Salisbury Tax Day Tea Party is part of a nationwide protest of Americans who are against the current government bailouts, expansive big government, and excessive earmarks. This event will take place April 15, 2009 (Income Tax Day) at the steps of the government building, downtown Salisbury from 4:30 until 6:30pm. This event is part of a larger movement to let our Maryland representatives know that their citizens are not going to allow these initiatives and demand to have their wealth and their rights protected.

The Salisbury Tax Day Tea Party is the Maryland segment of a nationwide protest that is promoting a current liberty movement against big government and over spending. The National movement was created by organizer Michelle Malkin who has a record of contributing to liberty, based on her best selling books and extremely popular blog. Also, the Tax Day event is nationally sponsored by Top Conservatives on Twitter, Don’t Go Movement, and Smart Girl Politics. Our goal in Maryland is to let our representatives know that tax increases, increased excise taxes, bailouts, and big government are not the solution to our economic disparity. Marylanders who support this movement want American solutions to these problems though tax cuts, less government and sensible regulation. This is the time to show the world that America, and Maryland will lead the way out of this crisis though liberty and capitalism. The Salisbury Tax Day Tea Party is designed as a protest event to allow Marylanders that disapprove of current legislation to express their concerns to our state and national representatives.

  2. The only reason it would be a waste of time is because of elected "officials" have forgotten who they are supposed to be working for.

  10. Mob mentality is for people who believe in democracy and not our republic...

  11. 10:36. When I risked my own life, and that of my brothers, to organize protest against British imperialism, similar to your original Tea Party in Boston, to burn official 'registration cards' {like you Americans resist registering your firearms based on Constitutional/moral rights} I did not minimilize my 'higher calling' by making a few bucks selling bootleg T-Shirts.....Boo to you, sir/and or lovely woman-like person. Veddy bad. Veddy, veddy bad.

There are good people who hope this will change things.

Then, there are people running this thing who start websites and sell $12 white T-shirts to those who are brainwashed into thinking this is the answer.

    Here's a T-shirt I want to see:

"I spent 2 hours venting to thin air and all I got was this lousy T-shirt... that I had to buy"

Go write your senator, it'll do the same as this will.

  13. The whole purpose is to let people know their rights to write their congressmen and senators and inspire them to do so. Come out to watch and listen, if for no other reason.

Your mentality is one share by many Americans. Unfortunately it is the same mentality that has permitted our government to become so large that they can do whatever they want to whomever they want any time they want. We The People are saying it's time for that to change. This republic was built on the premise that our government was instituted by man. Now it taxes and controls every move we make. Stop this madness! One step at a time.

  15. It is a first step in "We The People" taking back what is ours. Our elected officials in all levels of government have forgotten who they work for. We all complain about the state our country is in. Come out on April 15th! Express your disatisfaction! Power in numbers!!
