Somerset County Commissioners Meeting

Tomorrow at 2 PM is the monthly Somerset County Commissioners Meeting, held at the County Building in Princess Anne. County citizens need to pack this meeting and voice their sincere displeasure and disgust at the Commissioner's recent, unethical maneuver of arbitrarily appointing Sam Boston to the position of County Administrator.

This appointment was made totally without following County due process personnel regulations that require advertising County positions followed by a competitive selection. Somerset County citizens, rise up, attend this meeting and make the Commissioners hear your disdain for the Somerset Good Ole Boys Network that is so rampant in your County Government.

  4. Thank you for the meeting information. I, for one, care and will be there. Change will never happen if you allow people to attack you and call you names to try to stop positive change. We need to lift our heads up. The world is not just what you see thrown at your feet! Time to look up!!!

  5. Let me get this right,,,It is okay to back door a county position with GOOD OLD BOY THINKING but not okay to voice yourself if you disagree. Breath deep everyone...this is America and a new air of change is here. The door is open...come out and let yourself be heard.People are listening.

  6. Prediction:

There won't be anyone there to "voice their displeasure".

You know why? Because you sackless bunch of crybabies can't show up as anonymous.

Write it down Joe. These spineless mouthpieces won't show.

Now go back to working your deskjob at Baker, Seidel & Tilghman. I'm sure you've got work to do there that isn't getting done while you're playing on your computer.

  9. Somebody wanna prove that County Procedure wasn't followed in this particular case?

    Didn't think so.

    Want to know why?

    BECAUSE YOU CAN'T!

  10. A lot of wrong doing and corruption cannot be proven but that doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

  11. I agree that few will show up. Everyone complaines about there taxes being to high, but no one ever shows up at the public hearing to protest.I suspect that most think that it is a waste of time since the commissioners have already made there decisions before the meetings begin. So much for public meeting laws.

  12. Annon 2:13, you said in this particular case. Seems to imply procedures were not followed in other cases.

  13. Thanks for the info Joe, attending the meeting and voicing ones displeasure with this decision is a first step to resolving the horrible situation in Somerset County. The commissioners certainly are not sagacious.

  14. If this action was legal it would be very easy for the County Attorney Simpkins to come on here and explaine it. Oh! Maybe he likes to comment anonymously also 2:13.

  15. Was county procedure followed when James Henderson was rehired 2:13. I would think a background check would have been appropriate. Of coarse the commissioners already knew that he was under criminal investigation and were willing to hire him anyway. Absolutely no reputable employer would hire someone who is the target of a state police investigation except Somerset County. Not a one of them has ever commented on this subject. Do we really trust any decision that they make when it comes to hiring? I don't think so.

  17. Somerset county does waht they want and the sad part is no matter if the room is packed it will never cahnge commissioners will have a closed door session and target the ones who attend the only thing thta will happen if one ot he ones who attend have family that works for the county they will be fired and the commissioners will give a family member their job we all know nepotism is the favorite tool in somerset county detention center roads department court house sanitary district I could go on and onbut nothing will change until election time then theses so called commissioners will try to kiss our a--

  18. AMEN TO THAT. YOU CAN COME THERE AND SPEAK BUT IT WILL BE YOU THAT IS THE BAD GUY BECAUSE YOU WANT CHANGE. BUT JUST REMEMBER YOU GOT VOTED THERE AND CAN BE VOTED OUT.

  19. To all that speak as anonymous I commend you. A voice is a voice. I would speak to those people directly who attack those that chose this form of expressing themselves, but alas, they chose to be anonymous themselves. If a great number of people show tomorrow the blogs will not matter...the voices of the people will. I hope you give your presence a chance and not let the group who push fear to protect their wrongs win.

  20. Excellent question 3:25. Planning and zoning even has a lawyer as director. It does seem a little demeaning to have an attorney and many other college graduates working for someone with only a high school diploma.

I think that you comment shows how stupid you are! What is so much better about a person just on the one fact that they dont have a degree? If that is the only thing that you can base his character, and job skills on than mabye YOU should go back to college and expand your mind some more! Come on now! plently of people with degrees less able, even less willing to do good at what they are hired for. Come On NOW!!!

  22. Susan......They at least deserve a chance.

  23. So much for hiring the most qualified. Just hire anyone and at least give them a chance. I know a lot of unemployed factory workers. Why not hire one of them and at least give them a chance? This logic does not work. Any employer wants to hire the best and most qualified. Doing anything different than that is incompetance.

  24. Not able to attend but will be anxiously awaiting your comments this evening regarding this meeting.

  25. And just how many people showed today?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Probably none because the citizens didn't want to get on the notorious hit list.

  27. Bitch, bitch, bitch, I have never heard of so much bitching from so many ignorant people..
