Debate

Remember when I said I wanted a Candidate to make me stand up and make me proud to be an American? Sarah Palin did just that.

Shorebirds To Charge $3.00 Parking Fee Next Season

While the Shorebirds plan on renovating their parking lot before next season, the cost of traveling for away games has skyrocketed as they put some 10,000 miles on their bus for these away games. They need to make some of these expenses up.

Rather than raising the price of a ticket they felt a parking fee would work better. They also explained that their water costs have gone up 15% at the Stadium and are expected to climb even higher next year.

What do you think Folks? This is a big hit for the Fans.

Ignore The Wooden Arrow Company?

I just listened to a U.S. Senator on CNN state that we should ignore the Pork added to the Bailout Bill because Americans would be more upset with our Government if the Bill doesn't go through.

No Sir, WE would NOT!

He added that if the Bill doesn't go through they'll simply have to keep trying until they get something passed because Americans would be very upset if Congress simply went home without passing this Bill.

OK, how do YOU feel about it?

I would like to add. Social Security has been in trouble for 30+ years and we've survived. They say it will run out in 2030. No one said the Mortgage Industry was in financial trouble for as many years, yet we're looking at an immediate $700 billion Bailout.

I'd also like to remind everyone, back around 9-11 the Airline Industry got, (I believe) a $10 Billion Bailout, $5 billion of it was a loan. Did they ever pay that back??????

Chrysler need help back in the early 1980's or somewhere around that time and they were given 10 years to pay it back and I believe they did so in 6 years. Of course one of the ways they did so was the fact that most municipalities, Police Departments and so forth had to purchase the K-Car for their vehicles. Our own Government actually bailed them out but at least they got something for their money.

In the case of this Bailout, I disagree with the Senator being interviewed. CNN kept trying to say, if the Bill is so important, why can't you deliver a Bill without ANY Pork to it and the Senator just kept saying, FORGET THE PORK and look at the bigger picture. The Pork in this bill is so minute it doesn't matter.

I say, FIRE ALL OF THEM and let's get a new Senate and Congress and get back to the old America you and I grew up with. A message from Senator Andy Harris will be coming some time tonight or early tomorrow morning referencing this matter. While he was firmly against the Bill at the SU Debate the other night, have the changes changed his mind? Will he stick to his guns? SBYnews.com will let you know just as soon as his message comes in.

Salisbury Mall – Precision Grading Services Case Is "Sub Curia"

On Tuesday, September 30, Judge Donald Davis heard arguments in the Wicomico County Circuit Court on the claim by Precision Grading Services – the firm that demolished the old mall building – for unpaid funds under its contract with the owner of the property. That claim is for several hundred thousand dollars. The Court’s ruling may come at any time, and will probably decide whether a trial is necessary.

Breaking News

Salisbury Mall – Hovnanian Development Case Is Headed to Trial

On Monday, September 29, Judge Donald Davis ruled that the case would go to trial in the Wicomico County Circuit Court and ordered the parties to meet with assignment commissioner for new trial date, preferably in February or first 2 weeks of March, 2009. This ruling appears to vacate or negate the ruling in August that Hovnanian could terminate its contract to purchase the land from Salisbury Mall Associates and recover its deposit because the latter had not taken appropriate action for development of the project.

Salisbury Mall Associates has also countersued for an order that Hovnanian forfeited the deposit because it failed to release part of the funds shortly after the mall building was demolished last year. That claim also was rejected by the Court in August, according to the Court’s docket records. That one may still be alive, too.

Who was it that said: "It ain’t over until it’s over"?

Anyone with more specific or better information can send it or post a comment, please.

A Credit Card Comment Worthy Of A Post

"I have a credit card that I have had for 5 years, never late with a payment, I paid 16% interest last year which increased to 18.99% this year for no reason.
I received a letter yesterday that it is now being raised to 29%. These bankers are F...ing nuts...

Send these a-holes to prison where they belong. China does it why not us. A-men!!!"

WICOMICO COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE MEETING

Last night a meeting was held at Wor Wic College. The organizational meeting was held in order to seek public input in order to update the current Comprehensive Plan for Wicomico County. At the end of the meeting, the audience was broken up into four workgroups. Each group was assigned the task to present public recommendations to the Planning & Zoning staff.

Here are some of the key highlighted results that were ranked by all the committees members votes:

1. Before any detrimental downzoning is enacted, compensation should be rewarded to the land owner to offset the devaluation of affected lands.

2. New comprehensive update should include provisions for fostering Domestic Oil and Natural Gas Development, including Solar, Wind, and other Renewable Energy technologies.

3. A new Sanitary Sewer and Water District should be created to provide services to many developments that are currently sub-standard. The creation should also help to alleviate housing pressure for solving long range population growth.

4. Salisbury's metro core is to congested and density should be reduced in the City limits. Moreover, the Metro Core boundaries should be expanded outside the current US 13 bypass boundaries. Also, alterations should be modified to current density allowances so as to allow homeowners the option to have larger residential lots as opposed to clustering concepts.

5. The lands set-a-side for Agricultural Land Preservation for current cluster developments should be contiguous and not allowed to be piecemealed outside of the subdivision boundaries.

Very interesting folks. It would be prudent to be monitoring the situation to see if any of the above are going to be implemented.

Obama Breaking Away In The Polling

The bailout brawl seems to have helped Obama, who has opened up a mid-single digit or better lead in most recognized polls and is getting 50% or more support in some. The period in which McCain was reaping the "convention bounce" has ended without getting 50% in any poll, with one exception. See the following sites for specific national and state polls:

Unless Palin pulls off a miraculous "big win" in the debate tonight, it may be over a month before the election. That noise you hear is the Fat Lady practicing the vocal scale.

War, Homeland Security, Wall Street Bailout?

While we've spent close to a trillion dollars at war in Iraq, while Homeland Security is out there buying Boats, Motor Homes, Trailers, Helicopters, you name it, is it time for all of us to allow a $700 Billion Bailout?

Spending and accountability is a lost subject to the wealthy and our Federal Government. There's no doubt in my mind that there will be yet another financial scam found from the Homeland Security funding as well as a $700 Billion Bailout.

The IRS can't even keep up with people truly paying their taxes, let alone some agency keeping track of $700 Billion! Oh, that's right, Congress will keep a watchful eye out on that funding, PLEASE!

Just like there was an organization taking care of oversight on the Mortgage Industry and let's not forget the Dot Com Industry! Sorry Folks, we're screwed in the biggest way this Country has ever been screwed.

Come on now, someone come back and argue my points today.

Another QOTD

DO YOU THINK THE BAILOUT WILL BE APPROVED?

Please read some excerpts from today's news:

By Charles Babington • Associated Press Writer • October 2, 2008

WASHINGTON — House members are getting another chance to vote on a bill many would like to avoid: a massive financial rescue that has infuriated millions but is being promoted as critically needed to stave off a deep recession.

This time, it comes back to the House loaded with billions of dollars worth of tax cuts and other sweeteners. They are meant to attract at least a dozen House members who voted against the measure Monday, when it failed, 228-205, triggering a record drop in the stock market.

Senators added the new items in a 74-25 vote late Wednesday, sending the rewritten package back to the House for a showdown vote expected Friday.

House leaders planned to spend Thursday pressing rank-and-file members for the dozen converts they need.

The bailout package was never in danger in the Senate. Senators instead played catalysts for the House, adding tax provisions popular with the left and right in a bid that House leaders hope — but cannot guarantee — will persuade enough of the House rank-and-file to switch from "nay" to "aye" on a highly contentious bill a month before Election Day.

The rescue package would let the government spend billions of dollars to buy bad mortgage-related securities and other devalued assets held by troubled financial institutions. If successful, advocates say, that would allow frozen credit to begin flowing again and prevent a serious recession.

To some degree, at least, House GOP opposition appeared to be easing as the Senate added $100 billion in tax breaks for businesses and the middle class, plus a provision to raise, from $100,000 to $250,000, the cap on federal deposit insurance.

House Republicans also welcomed a decision Tuesday by the Securities and Exchange Commission to ease rules that force companies to devalue assets on their balance sheets to reflect the price they can get on the market.

There were worries, though, that the tax breaks might cause some conservative-leaning Democrats who voted for the rescue Monday to abandon it because the revised version would swell the federal deficit.

Question of the Day, Thur 10/2

Good morning, folks!

Tonight is debate night between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden.

Are you going to watch? Why? What do you expect will happen tonight? Do you think any questions that you personally may have about the candidates will be answered? Do you think your vote will sway after watching the debate?

I Told You So

Remember the article I did Tuesday September 23rd called, My View? I tried to tell everyone that our Federal Government not only drained us once during the Dot Com crap and the fall of the Stock Market then, now we're in yet another jam and YOUR Congressmen and YOUR President are about to take whatever you and I have left and screw us once again for the sake of bailing out their crooked thieving friends on Wall Street.

Quite frankly Folks, we're in a War in Iraq based on our President flat out lying about weapons of mass destruction and if this guy hasn't lied to us enough and taken more lives because of such lies, I don't know what to tell you any more.

This is NOT America. Not the America I grew up in and was forced to pledge to each and every day. I cannot blame Obama for not pledging the Flag of the Unites States of America because we now live in a Country in which lying, cheating and stealing is a way of life and completely acceptable. "I did not have sexual relations with Monica Lewinski." I've had enough, I've seen enough!

My Grandmother got upset with me a few years ago because I challenged the Twin Towers, oh, that's right, most of you fell for that BS too. Nevertheless, she said, this is our America and it's all we've got. I disagree. This is no longer OUR America and it's not all we've got. I have the choice of packing my bags and taking all of my money and moving somewhere else. So does the rest of America. The funny part is, pretty much everyone here has family members that moved here from other Countries.

$700 billion is a total load of crap and I say 100% of the Americans "I" know said hell no, we don't accept this Bailout! Yet MSM Polls state most Americans are for it. We've lost complete control. We have a Mayor locally who is out of control and nothing is being done about her as well. We need $700 billion to bail out Wall Street, yet we're getting ready to spend millions in Wicomico County for a Park we don't need.

Yeah, sandy beaches and no taxes elsewhere is starting to sound really nice to me any more. Think about this for just one second. Joe Albero leaves the United States of America and sits back watching CNN or any other news channel watching just how you people live every day. Robots to and from work daily, just to pay the increased taxes to pay for bail outs or because the Governor in Maryland screwed everyone financially and had to raise taxes. I'd be watching from the outside watching the soldier ants, (YOU) working to create a bigger government. Oh, that's right, you're supposed to be so proud of your government too.

America is becoming a huge joke and I'm not one of it's worker ants. If things continue down this path I truly will consider relocating like my ancestors did. Can you tell I'm pissed off?

Before you close this page, think about this. Each and every one of you are against the $700 billion Bailout, that's a fact. Each and every one of you know for a fact we do NOT need another Park in Wicomico County. Each and every one of you know you were against a $14 million TIF. Each and every one of you know we do NOT need a $840,000.00 Fire Boat in Salisbury. Just how much more crap are you going to take. I ask this before you slam me with comments.

Fernando At Parkside's Pep Rally

"Hey Joe,

I like your blog a lot and I thought that you might be interested in this. Our local boxer, Fernando, was at Parkside's pep rally tonight. I, being a senior, was glad to see him there. I wish you where there. The rally was good and everyone filled their bellies with the finest barbecue, courtesy of Whitey's. I'm glad Fernando came, and I wish him luck. Everyone at Parkside appreciates a former graduate, Fernando, for being the best!

Ricky McGee"

Thanks Ricky. See you at the Fight tomorrow night.

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of crossing?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.

DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his current problems before adding new problems.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed t he road because he's guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmers Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.

JERRY FALWELL: Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth? That's why they call it the other side. Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay, too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like the other side. That chicken should not be crossing the road. It's as plain and as simple as that.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never reboot.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

No Crime In Salisbury?

The Salisbury Police Department hasn't reported ANY criminal activity once again for an entire week. Obviously there's no Gangs or Crime in Salisbury and perhaps Salisbury News has been completely wrong about the Leadership at the SPD after all? NOT!

My guess is that they'll pop up a ton of stuff over the next two days just to catch up. In the mean time Folks, there's still a murderer on the loose as they have failed to catch the guy who killed/murdered the local prostitute months ago. So much for the temporary tags, eh Chiefy?

They must be working on lowering that 10th Most Dangerous City In America thing.

2 Years Ago Today

Mr. Bill Hearne gives Police Chiefy Webster a piece of his mind when it came to what would be done with the horses from the Horse Patrol.

Mr. Hearne kept those horses on his property for many years at no charge to the City and the Mayor and Chiefy treated him like dirt in the end. Hence the obvious photo of Bill Hearne showing the Police Chief he wasn't going to take any of his bullsh!t.

Janet Dudley-Esbach Need A Leash

"Janet Dudley-Esbach, president of Salisbury University and first cousin-in-law of vice presidental candidate Joe Biden continues with her arrogant behavior. Who can forget the criminal activity of her son while a student at Salisbury University, or especially her recent embarrassing pictures on Facebook.

Just about a year ago, Dudley-Esbach was forced to remove very offensive photographs from her Facebook account that showed her holding a stick having to 'beat off the Mexicans' and another emphasizing the genitals of a tapir. She has not learned from her past mistakes. This latest photograph of the bumper sticker stating 'My Corgi is smarter than your honor student.' from the back of her Acura (attached) proves her continued disrespect and disregard for not only the Salisbury University community, but for Salisbury and the surrounding areas. It insults not only many fine students on her campus, but thumbs her nose at the many hard-working high school students and their families in the region."

Mr. Pollitt said that the land under consideration would accommodate a facility equal in size to Winter Place Park.
