Question of the Day, Thur 10/2

Good morning, folks!

Tonight is debate night between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden.

Are you going to watch? Why? What do you expect will happen tonight? Do you think any questions that you personally may have about the candidates will be answered? Do you think your vote will sway after watching the debate?

  1. It doesnt matter at all. Its just a show to take you from the real issues. Words have all run dry, A bunch of hollow promises never ful-filled. Its a big joke.

  2. Yes will watch. Sara Palin will have to prove she's "Smarter than a Fifth Grader". Anything better than that she wins, less she loses. Biden will most likely go at McCain and barely aknowledge Palin. At this point she's a non factor (actually a drag on the ticket). The jig is up for McCain. Gimmicks, including using one to pick a VP have a very short shelf life.

  3. I have heard somewhere along the line there is a question of the person who will be running the debate. Is it a woman that has written a book about Obama? If so, there seems to be conflict,

  4. I don't know why, but I'm really excited about the debate. I say I don't know why, because the political environment is depressing: two candidates (Obama and Palin) who are utterly unqualifed, and two candidates whose "experience" is worth about 2cents.

The only positive things I can say are that McCain is a hero and Biden's "3 regions" Iraq Plan is the best option. I'm still voting for Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party).

    Vote Principle, not Party.

  5. Palin is going to come off pretty well tonight, but don't be fooled! The real Sarah Palin was on display in the Katie Couric interviews. Please take the time to watch them on Youtube, and ask whether you honestly think she is ready to be our president. It wasn't "gotcha" journalism, she just could not answer really basic questions. Tonight's debate is simply about who can stick to a pre-written script better, it won't reveal much.

  6. Why does Palin win if she comes off smarter than a 5th grader? Let's hold her to a higher standard, the same standard we would hold for anyone who wants to be our president. They have deliberately set expectations really low so that if she doesn;t come off as an idiot, we'll all cheer! She isn't an idiot, she is an experienced debator, but she should not be our president (which is the standard we should use to choose our vps).

  7. Definitely watching. I think Palin will fail miserably as she is not qualified to become President should something happen. she is not prepared. The moderator wrote a book about blacks and politics and it has a chapter about Obama. The book is not about him.

  8. I've noticed that Palin never actually answers the questions. She seems to skirt the issue at hand by moving slightly onto another topic. She's very good at managing a discussion, and seemingly charming, but in these complicated times and given this mess we're already in, it seems as though more is needed than a good personality. It's been said she's a "quick study";frankly I don't think we have time to allow her to get caught up. Just like the Mayor of SBY, she's in over her head.

  9. I will be very blunt here....I would rather shave my armpits with a rusty cheese grater than listen to this partisan bitching anymore. I am thinking it is time to rewatch "The Towering Inferno" over a couple Captain Morgans.

  10. I keep telling you people, no name calling and do NOT copy and paste another commenters quote. Use anonymous 10:19 or whatever it may be so they can reflect back on their comment but do NOT repeat it or I won't post your comment. You know who you are, so stop it. Hence my rejecting your comment.

  11. Palin wins if she does a strip tease.

  12. Would somebody PLEASE tell me where to get McCain/Palin bumper stickers. Where is the Republican Headquarters locally? Please, anybody!

  13. Republican headquarters is next door to Kinko's on S. Salisbury Blvd. They had yard signs and bumper stickers last week and probably still do.

  14. Yes, I am going to watch it. If for nothing else, to see Palin put her foot in her mouth with her answers, and to see the source of this weeks SNL skit!!

  15. yes, i'm going to watch. I already know who I am voting for but still want to see what is being said so that when discussing candidates/politics/etc, I'll be educated on what happened and was said.

The moderator's book uses Obama's name in the title so it is a little hard to believe she is the most neutral moderator that could be found....

  16. anon 1042 all you have to do is change the name from Palin to Osama (oops Obama) and I agree with everything you said
