Joe,
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up, the email address is the biggest indicator of this scam. Any address ending in .CO.XX indicates a county code. In this case Japan. This is a Yahoo Japan address. RU equals russia etc...
The any federal agency will always end in the agency.GOV, ie IRS.GOV, FDA.GOV, HOUSE.GOV, SENATE.GOV, etc...
Did you send a copy of the email to the IRS so they would know this is happening?
ReplyDeleteYou probably should.
I also received one of these email messages several months ago. I immediately called my accountant and he advised the IRS never sends out email and it is a SCAM! My accountant is a great guy!
