JUST WHAT WILL TOMORROW BRING AT THE TAWES CRAB AND CLAM BAKE?

I don't care what anyone says, tomorrow is a BIG DAY!

Expect some serious announcements coming from Salisbury News tomorrow and yes, we're going to go LIVE at times from the event.

YES, I know some of the Candidates that are going to run for MAYOR of Salisbury and I know of at least one of them that will be announcing tomorrow! This is one of the bonuses an event like this creates because everyone in the state of Maryland will be present and I can't wait for this person to announce.

Barrie Tilghman, YOU'RE TOAST! I cannot wait to see that door hit you on the ass on your way out of the GOB!

Andy Harris Outraises Kratovil Yet Again

Harris Out-Raises Kratovil Yet Again Kratovil's Liberal Message Fails to Resonate

Annapolis - The Kratovil campaign continued to show their lackluster fundraising ability with the announcement that for the 4th consecutive quarter the Harris campaign has outraised them. The Harris fundraising juggernaut has continued to post strong numbers from quarter to quarter.

Harris has continued to surpass all stated fundraising goal. Months ago, the Harris stated he wanted to be halfway to a $1.2million dollar budget. The campaign has brought in over $746,000 well above the $600,000 goal. "Andy's message of lower taxes and less wasteful spending is generating the support allowing us to surpass every fundraising goal we have set," said Campaign Manager Chris Meekins. "The Harris campaign clearly has the momentum, and the Kratovil campaign has once again come up short."

Despite the influx of liberal special interest money from DC, Kratovil still cannot match the Harris fundraising juggernaut. "This is a clear sign Kratovil's liberal message of higher taxes and more wasteful government spending is not resonating with donors." Said Harris Campaign Manager Chris Meekins.

To help weed through the political spin typical of campaign seasons, here are some facts about the fundraising totals:
Harris out-raised Kratovil for a 4th consecutive quarter.
Harris well surpassed all stated fundraising goals.
Harris has $150,000 more cash on hand than the Kratovil campaign.

Now This Is Smart

Everything else is stupid. That is, unless you have an argument with a Mack Truck!

As The Salisbury City Council Turns

The show last night could not have been scripted any better if it were written by Hollywood writers. Reading the agenda, I knew before the hypocrites stood to pray (that their items get passed through quickly) how the vote on the agenda items would go. It's a no brainer, for the most part. Now lets get to the good parts.

PAC-14. I sat in amazement as Gary Comegys stood strong for the little old lady on a fixed income having to pay an increase of 85 cents per month on her cable bill. Where was that concern for the same little old lady, on a fixed income when you implemented a 14% property tax increase last year? Where was the concern for the little old lady, on a fixed income, when you implemented the 15% water and 13% sewer increase this year? Like Comegys, his concern is fraudulent. His attempt at garnering votes of the little old ladies on fixed incomes, like him, is a failure.

Debbie and Terry did such a good job of bringing forth into the light things that might otherwise not be shared with the public about the Partners of PAC 14. (and they did it in 5 minutes or less) Mike Goodson declined to release the names of these partners so he put John Pick on the spot. Pick reluctantly named Louise Smith, Barrie Tilghman and himself as the partners from the city. Hasn't anyone at PAC 14 been paying attention the past 10 years? Doesn't anyone at PAC 14 realize how little to no confidence the citizens of the city have in Barrie Tilghman and Louise Smith? Why on earth would they want as a partner, a woman that has destroyed the city? Do the folks at PAC 14 actually believe the people in the county trust these two any more than the city residents? Everything Barrie Tilghman has touched in Salisbury has turned to crap. Name one thing she has done in this city that has benefitted the citizens and not the developers or landlords? Name one thing Louise Smith has kept her word on? John Pick is a flunkie he'll do as told, period. For Louise to sit there, as if all is well in the land of Barrie, knowing she did not bring Debbie Campbell, her appointed representative to the PAC 14 board, up to speed is beyond puzzling. It just proves there is something to hide. It should also be noted, the County Council pulled PAC 14 from their agenda this morning. What does that tell you? Mike Goodson should have been on the up and up from the beginning, now that row is going to be a tough one to hoe. First impressions are lasting Mikey, you didn't leave a very good impression last night.

Lyin' Louise, the niece of one of the greatest Senators to serve the state of Delaware, can't do math or tell the truth. When asked by Campbell what 2/3 of 5 is, Louise's reply of "we all know what that is" just doesn't cut it. For the record, 2/3of 5 is NOT a super majority, you moron. Didn't she say she is a retired school teacher? I guess math wasn't her strong point. Hmmm, how would that work with her audit experience? Louise also doesn't want any anonymous letters entered into the record (actually, this is a suggestion made by Gary Comegys, at the June 16 work session) but she can enter 107 anonymous phone calls? I don't know what the big deal is over the anonymous letter. It was only anonymous to those of us NOT on the city council. Everyone on the council knows who wrote it, except Louise.

Shanie, no need wasting bandwidth on the stupidity that flows from her mouth. Did anyone else hear her say how great the housing stock is in Salisbury? Did anyone else hear her say we don't need more houses? If that is the case, why the hell is she voting to annex the proposed development of 95 new homes, between Queen Ave and Chippewa Blvd? Why is she voting to annex that monster development going up behind Target? If we have enough houses what is the purpose of all of this development? Shanie, McDonalds called, your Big Mac attack has been postponed.

What really got me about last nights meeting was John Pick. Did he admit, repeatedly, that they cooked the books? Falsified the budget documents? Entered numbers, in the amount of $1,500,000.00 into the budget to balance the water and sewer, KNOWING they don't have the money to cover the, PADDING, for lack of a better word? I heard him say the developers at Westwood were going to donate those funds for a water tower but changed their minds. I heard him say, they were NOT going to be getting that $1,500,000.00, didn't I? Did you hear it? Well, if they are not going to get that money and they do not have that money WHY did Barrie Tilghman put those figures in her proposed budget? Why did Gary Comegys use those figures in his calculations for the Water and Sewer Budget? Why is there a line item "Proceeds from Developers" in the amount of $1,500,000 on this spreadsheet? OK, the books are balanced but the money is not there and we're not going to be getting it. Is there a CPA or Attorney or even a book keeper out there that can explain what this is? It looks rather shady to me but, once again, I don't have a certificate on the wall so I'll just have to see it for what it appears to be to me and that is CRIMINAL. Like I said, it's what it appears to be to me, I hope I'm wrong. FY09 Budget Ordinance 2053

Princess Anne Makes Historic Vote Last Night

The Princess Anne Commissioners voted on a historic decision for the 2,500 residents of their small Town.

The Somerset County Sanitary District have controlled the water for the Town of Princess Anne since 1958. Last night the Commissioners voted to create a Committee to "take back our water," said President Frank White.

Allegedly the Sanitary District Control hasn't maintained their water for 30 years and the Town is fed up. "We'll take back our water in whatever means necessary," said Frank White. The Citizens clapped and gave the Commissioners a standing ovation during last nights meeting.

The Sanitary District Control determines who can or can't have water and it is stalling any kind of smart growth into the area. Even UMES can't get what they need and the Town Officials have had enough. They've been held hostage, so to speak.

The Town will create a committee right away to determine exactly what they need to do and have already started consulting with a firm in Delaware to look into their own Treatment Plant.

Last year the Town lost $1,500,000.00 in Building Permits because the Developers couldn't get the water to many annexed sites. So why didn't you see this in the Daily Times today? Because their Reporter has a 7:30 deadline and left the meeting before it was even discussed.

WMDT Covers Deer Story

WMDT, 47 News did a story on the unusual deer at the Salisbury Zoo. GO HERE to view their story.

"If controlling the goose population is worthy of council time, I don't understand why this wouldn't be as well," said Campbell.

"The zoo director says they can either put the deer down or keep it comfortable."

A Letter To The Editor Referencing The City Council Meeting

"My husband and I watched the City Council Meeting last night on Pac14, and I can
not believe what I am seeing. Why in God's name are the city residence letting
this happen. Why is not someone putting these three people out. It is plain as
day to watch what is happening. It is not about the citizens at all, it is who
will win the battle between the council members. Salisbury City is the way it
is because the residence are allowing this. We were absolutely amazed at what
we saw. Oh My Gosh!!!! There is no way I could keep my mouth shut and not just
blow those three out of the water. It is time for someone to setup a booth for
the city residences to get all three out of there. Smith, Comegys and Sheilds."

Andy Harris Continues Strong Fundraising

Harris Continues Strong Fundraising Pace
Campaign reports over $600,000 Cash on Hand

Annapolis - In a sign of continued strength, the Andy Harris for Congress campaign announced today another strong fundraising quarter. Today the campaign announced it has $609,482.95 in its war chest leading into the General Election. "I am humbled by the support I have received," said Dr. Andy Harris M.D.

During this quarter, Andy laid out his five-point "Prescription for the Pain at the Pump" which offered common sense solutions for lowering the high cost of fuel. "This financial support will allow me to get the message of common-sense solutions to lowering the price of gas to voters throughout the district," Dr Harris added.

"Andy Harris' fundraising strength shows that people believe Andy Harris is the kind of change we need in Washington," said Campaign Manager Chris Meekins. "Andy's message of lowering taxes and decreasing wasteful government spending to stimulate economic growth is clearly resonating with voters and donors alike."

ABC Bans American Flag Pins

Yesterday, the brass at ABC News issued orders forbidding reporters to wear lapel pin American flags or other patriotic insignia. Their reasoning was that ABC should
remain neutral about "causes".

Since when is support for preventing our death & destruction some sort of a “cause”? Since when is patriotism to be discouraged. I urge you to boycott ABC and its sponsors and affiliates.

We are slowly losing everything our country stands for, and everything our men and women fought and died to preserve.

Consider These Three Thoughts

(1) Zero Gravity

When NASA started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ball-point pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat this problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside-down, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 C.
The Russians used a pencil. Your taxes are due again--enjoy paying them.

(2) Our Constitution

'They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq . Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and hell, we're not using it anymore.'

(3) Ten Commandments

The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse is that you cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians! It creates a hostile work environment.

I Have A Mastiff With A Problem--I Fear For My Life

I have a male Cane Corso/English Mastiff who we will call 'Petey' (this could damage his reputation). He will be 2 in March and, at 140 lbs, is still growing. He's the best dog in the world--friendly, energetic (yet will take naps with me, his sleep-deprived mom), and he loves his brother, a Chihuahua. He's never chewed on anything that I own (which is good, because I think he could fit my entire dresser in his mouth. Including the lamp.) But, we do have a serious problem.

Petey is...flatulent. To an extreme degree. Now, I know a lot of you out there are saying, 'Hey, my dog (husband/boyfriend) farts all the time, so what's the problem?' I don't know how to explain it, but the best way to describe Petey's gaseous expulsions is with this word: 'heavy'. Like a dense fog settling on the mountains, Petey's farts will settle in the lower 3' of the room--about the altitude I inhabit while asleep. Thus, I fear that he may kill me (accidentally, I hope) in my sleep. Let me explain how the routine (when you go through this about 100 times a day, you make a routine) works:

-I'm in bed, innocently typing on the computer when I hear it: 'FFFWWWWWPPPPPP'
-I look over at Petey, who was asleep next to my bed, and he is now fixated on his butt, with a look of confusion and wonder ('What was that!? Where did it go?').
-Petey looks up at me (no doubt wondering if I saw the little creature that he thinks ran out of his butt while he wasn't looking), and, after taking in my terrified gaze, thinks that he has done something HORRIFYING and he must move away from me before I yell at him.
-Petey jumps to his feet as I throw my comforter over my head to prevent my eyes from watering due to the noxious gas. In his attempt to slink out of the room unnoticed, he has shaken his intestines, which, in response, proceed to expel gas with his every step. In his mind, lots of little butt-dwelling critters are escaping, foiling his stealthy exit. I have yet to break it to him that he isn't stealthy at all, with or without the butt-dwelling critters.
-Hearing him exit the room, I crack the window behind my bed and shove my head out. 3 minutes later, I am in the clear. I shut the window and continue on with my work--shaken, but alive.

(At times I will get up to find him in another room, intently staring at his butt in hopes of catching one of those pesky critters.)

I live in fear. These are SO BAD that I actually wake up in the middle of the night. Please, does anyone have any sort of home remedy? I've changed his food, stopped giving him rawhide, tried to eliminate tasty treats that I know cause gas in humans (cheese, anyone?)--everything I can think of, but my life is still on the line! I am a student, so money is tight, please keep this in mind!
Thanks!

Everyone Is Dying For Us To Add Obituaries?

"Hey Joe,

My wife and I canceled The Daily Surprise years ago because it was not reliable then and is getting worse (from what everyone tells us). I do look at their online version but just for the obituaries which are late posting half of the time. With everything else you have added I thought it would be neat if you had that section too. We look at your blog and follow it daily for more accurate news. We used your new classified section with faster results then the paper and much less frustrating than the paper.

Thanks for all you do in keeping us up to speed with the news and adding more to your blog to make it appealing for all."

Answer:

We are considering adding the feature as well as several others. However, this will come in time.

Councilwoman Cohen Tries Once Again To Help This Animal

But the Mayor and 3/5 of the Council REFUSE to do anything about it. Shanie, (once again) trusts the Department Heads and new Zoo Director. Here's a HINT for you Shanie, he designs exhibits for a living, not diagnoses and treats animals. You would have been better off calling a Veterinarian. That's OK though, I'll contact Dr. Tragle and got his opinion on this animal.

As for Gary Comegys, he says in some areas these animals are trophy mounts. Hey Gary, you're an a$$hole. That's all I got to say about that.

The Mayor sat there chewing the inside of her mouth and bowing her head while she ONCE AGAIN ignores the health and welfare of the animals at the Zoo, just like she did in the Jim Rapp days. She's worthless, useless and let's see, what did I say to her and she called a Press Conference? Then the Press challenged me asking me if I would take it back and I refused and stood my ground! Last night proved my case/statement.

You voted for that Idiot as well as Comegys, Smith and Shields, deal with it. Oh, they stated last night that they're a legislative body, therefore they don't need to get in the middle of all of this. Well, that means the Mayor should. She's the administrative body then. Demand she do so. Here's her e-mail address. Tell her what you think of this animal. Where's Alessi in this matter? Don't you see how they hide whenever anything tragic comes up. sbymayor@ci.salisbury.md.us

The Mayor didn't say a word last night. Like I said, she kept bowing her head and chewing the inside of her face. Oh, Gary & Shanie, IF they're going to cut off the circulation to this area, ("like they do a mole") why didn't they do that two years ago? Why didn't they do it last year and here's a really good one for you, why haven't they done it this year? Do you think we're all that stupid to believe your BS?

Are YOU Going To The Tawes Crab & Clam Bake?

Here's what's interesting Folks. Everybody and their brother seems to be attempting to sell off tickets, including Mayor Tilghman. I have received phone calls from just about every Politician I know asking me if I'd like to be a guest of their and offered me free tickets. That was very kind of all of you, thank you. However, I got my own tickets and the Wife and I plan on going and enjoying the day away.

Anyhow, getting back to the point I was trying to make. One political group sent out an e-mail asking if everyone might be interested in DISCOUNTED ticket prices. This lead me to believe that this event just might be hurting this year.

With a price tag of $40.00 per person, the hottest day of the year, the event is held on a mainly blacktop area, increasing the heat. Gas prices at $4.00 a gallon, the event is being held on a Wednesday afternoon, can YOU afford to go? Are you planning on going? Do you even care? ;-)

Do You Remember the Stories the Old Folks Told You? Oh Well, You May Just Get to Experience It Firsthand

How many times did we here about how hard our Grandparents had it when they were coming up? "I had to walk 5 miles to school...Up hill in both directions"! We heard the stories over and over but did we take them to heart? With the events of today, we may be telling our grandchildren the same stories if not worse!

Mortgage Giants’ Collapse Could Herald 1930’s Style Depression

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
Monday, July 14, 2008
Veteran London Times journalist William Rees-Mogg predicts that the collapse of U.S. mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could herald a downturn into a 1930’s style depression that threatens to sweep away democratic governments.
Rees-Mogg served as editor of The Times, Britain’s oldest surviving newspaper, from 1967 to 1981, and currently sits in the House of Lords.
In his column today, Rees-Mogg states that the world economy is not just entering an economic recession, but a depression comparable with the great crash of 1929 and its 10-year aftermath.
Tracing the origins of the crisis back to the dot-com bust at the end of the 1990’s, Rees-Mogg writes that stock markets are so ravaged that they will not recover to their 2007 levels until at least 2032.
“This recession has produced a succession of nasty surprises. Things are always proving to be worse than anyone had expected. Last week the crisis spread to the American mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, created by President Roosevelt in 1938,” writes Rees-Mogg.
“These are far bigger than the investment bank Bear Stearns and Northern Rock put together. They have brought the crisis from the level of billions of dollars, to the level of trillions. No doubt they will be saved because the US would be bust if they went down. But you cannot save six- trillion-dollar institutions without suffering on a large scale.”
Ominously, Rees-Mogg foresees “A momentum of negative events sweeping away financial flood defences; in the 1930s that force overturned democratic governments as easily as it overturned banks.
The veteran journalist is referring to the 1930’s hyper-inflation crisis in Germany, which led to the destruction of the Weimar Republic and the rise of Adolf Hitler.
“Before we get back to balance, we may see dramatic changes in politics, as well as in business and finance,” Rees-Mogg concludes.
The veteran journalist’s warning comes on the back of news that “U.S. regulators are bracing for dozens of American banks to fail over the next year.”
According to an International Herald Tribune report, “Troubles are growing so rapidly at some small and midsize banks that as many as 150 out of the 7,500 banks nationwide could fail over the next 12 to 18 months.”

After hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Spanish - enough is enough. Nowhere did they sing it in Italian, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German or any other language because of immigration. It was written by Francis Scott Key and should be sung word for word the way it was written The news broadcasts even gave the translation -- not even close. NOT sorry if this offends anyone because this is MY COUNTRY - IF IT IS YOUR COUNTRY SPEAK UP.

I am not against immigration -- just come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor; have a place to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- may God Bless You and MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA!

So Why Do People Pay For The Daily Times?

WBOC is Free. WMDT is Free. Salisbury News is Free. Do all those people buying the Daily Rag need something to read in the John? Wouldn't it be cheaper to have an cable outlet installed the very first month than it would buying a subscription?

In my honest opinion, the daily paper should be Free as well. At the rate they print the news anyway, do like they do in Ocean City and simply produce a once a week paper full of everything you'll read on Salisbury News.

Check this out Folks, http://weblogg-ed.com/index.php?s=copyright. I find it pretty damn interesting the Associated Press wants money from Bloggers for their work, yet the Associated Press isn't paying ME for my work? It should go both ways, right?
