Republicans Got What They Deserve, Americans Got What They Wanted

There's no denying they system worked this go around and Americans weren't screwed out of a Presidency.

Overwhelmingly throughout the Country people voted out the incumbents, (YES) and demanded CHANGE. While some are saying I have sold out the Republican Party, you have to be NUTS to believe any of that garbage. George Bush sold out the Republican Party. Congress sold out the Republican Party. The games are over and damn it, it's about time.

As you followed this Blog for the past two to three months, I never once swayed away from my message as a Republican. I clearly stated that I would vote my party line in this election and I did so. I stated that Obama was a good man as well as Kratovil. Am I torn about the meaning of CHANGE, hell yes I am and if you say you're not comfortable about how this Country has been run the past 8 years, you need help.

Would McCain have changed things for the better? No, I personally do not believe so. However, again, as I stated in the past, neither Presidential Candidate will do well over the next 4 years, we're that screwed thanks to George Bush.

I'm sure many of you can imagine, my phone is ringing off the hook and what you're reading is exactly the message I'm spreading.

As for the Congressional Race, Andy Harris vs. Frank Kratovil. Again, I stated Frank was a good man and Frank knows the one on one conversation we had outside Holloway Hall a few weeks ago. I meant what I said to him. However, it was after that day Frank Kratovil lied to the public by stating the Daily Times retracted a quote and they absolutely did not. He could have worded it professionally and stated a completely different article was written by a completely different reporter but there was no correction and there was no retraction.

Do I feel Andy Harris will make a better Congressman, ABSOLUTELY! Does either Candidate have this thing won? Absolutely Not! When Andy Harris spoke at Holloway Hall, he failed to reach the people. He came off arrogant and I believe that hurt his race dramatically. It must be understood however, Andy has experience and while he was simply answering questions with great confidence, he didn't carry himself with an attitude of, I want your vote.

I will also state that Bonnie Lunna was nothing short of a pain in the a$$ throughout this entire campaign and rather than the Central Committee selling the McCain/Palin/Harris race, she kept Andy out of that connection and the numbers clearly show the end result of her drive. McCain did well in Wicomico County, Andy Harris did not. Bonnie, (IMO) is a scary individual in which you never know what's up her sleeve.

There's a lot of finger pointing and blaming going on everywhere in America today. When your knocked down and out, you don't get back up and take the same beating over and over again, you move forward and accept your loss. Yeah, there's going to be a lot of bellyaching over the next year, perhaps more. All I can say is, I stuck to my Party and I am so pleased that I live in the State of Delaware. Maryland has some serious issues and it's not going to be an easy road to travel in that sate for many years to come.

For me personally. I'm looking forward to watching Obama deliver his message to Americans. I'm happy to believe that he'll not once get on that television and tell me he sees weapons of mass destruction. I'm going to enjoy watching the Democrats pull us out of this DEPRESSION we are in or heading into. I want nothing more than to be able to say to everyone here, well, they most certainly did it. I'm confident we wouldn't be saying those same words if McCain had been elected.

So even though I was just a child when we heard the great words from Martin Luther King, "I Have A Dream," the dream has come through and as Americans you should all be extremely proud and embrace victory. Now let's keep this man safe and this time give America a chance to heal. Let's bring our Troops home and end this war in Iraq. South Korea & South Vietnam survived, so will Iraq.

I'm encouraged to sit back and watch democracy at its best and I hope all of you are too.

  2. change is coming:

higher personal, corporate and capital gains taxes
401k's being taken over by government
    the fairness doctrine
    card check
    redistribution
lower standard of living for everyone

Yup, change is coming, for us all.

  3. No matter what you say, people are going to bitch!

I am disappointed that Obama won, but I am more proud of McCain's speech and I think his words should resonate to his followers, myself included. This is the United States of America, and we have to now pull together as one nation. It is time to lick our wounds or celebrate our victories and unite. This is the time to reclaim our country and work together. The key is work!

It is that type of message that has convinced this nation to start the change.

This is not junior high. It is time to grow up and stop whinning.

  6. Damn, Joe, WTF? I am IMPRESSED as HELL at your attitude...you are to be commended my friend...I have been a big denouncer of your ways in the past but you have been very FRANK and CLASSY in your view/opinion of the outcome of this election! Great job, my man - REALLY...great job! You are a gentleman and actually have given me some hope that those that follow you will help work the problems in this counrty and not continue to beeyotch and moan about having lost.

  7. I believe Joe that you have good points and I like what you have to say. I never thought I would agree with you but it seems that I do, Good article. The rest of the haters, you need to jump aboard or swim away, we have enough negativity and hate in this counry, we don't need anymore, take it elsewhere, thanks but no thanks.

  10. To those Americans whose support I have yet to earn—I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your president, too. Yes, even you 11:28 AM, you racist piece of garbage.

Joe, I just thought our readers might want to see that. We may not have the president we hoped for, but let's hope now we have a great one. And for any with hate in their hearts, this is a short but great message of overcoming that hate.

  12. 11:28 Actually reported by CNN the
figure is close to 1 billion dollars, and I agree they bought the White House. I disagree with Joe in that our problems started long before Bush came into office.
I do agree that Bush never surrounded himself with enough of the best economist. The Democrats have complete control almost a fillabuster. Lets see what they can do.

  14. Wow Joe... where to start with your comments....

"As you followed this Blog for the past two to three months, I never once swayed away from my message as a Republican."

Well that's for sure! You went above the sites "unbiased" title and posted everything possible against Obama. I really hope that the unbiased view comes back soon!

"I stated that Obama was a good man as well as Kratovil"

Never saw that! Maybe it was hidden in all the bashing posts??

"For me personally. I'm looking forward to watching Obama deliver his message to Americans. I'm happy to believe that he'll not once get on that television and tell me he sees weapons of mass destruction. OK... who just kicked Joe off the computer and posted that? How can the months of bashing and only posting negative about Obama lead to this? While I am glad to read that message... to keep an "unbiased" site, this should have been done a loooong time ago. Then the remaining admins, who follow your lead, would also have cut back their negative one sided posts.

Thanks for writing this kind of positive message for your viewers.

  16. This is one of those moments where it was said be careful of what you wish for because you just might get it. Well asked for it and you got it. Now is the time to get a government job because it is going to grow like a bad fungus now. I hate to tell you this is not only going to effect republicans.

  17. How can the Eastern Shore sweep, including Wicomico, by Frank Kratovil be blamed on Ms. Luna (FYI-I'm not a friend or political supporter of the woman).
It made sense for Harris to distance himself from the mainstream Republican party, which has been his stance in general. And it's no secret why McCain won on the Shore -- if Hillary had been the Dem. nominee, she would have trounced him.

What hurt Harris was his own performance, such as at the debate at SU when he was hung out to dry, and then those false ads and claims about Kratovil. Harris does not deserve to win, and it will be a miracle if he does.

  18. You have to commend the Democrats for their unity, focus and organization. Republicans in Maryland have a LOT to learn from them.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, I agree Bonnie Luna is a scary individual. Not many folks ever figure her real agenda out. It is one to promote "Bonnie" only and she never really plays fair. She hides behind a June Cleaver smile to get her way and strokes people - I have seen it time after time. She is a wolf in sheeps clothing - a dictator lies behind
    that mask!

  20. Good God. Stop blaming Bush for everything you don't like. We are such a fortunate nation and yet we are a nation of belly achers. Bush has kept us safe and he alone did not create the financial crisis. If anyone wonders where the economy problems are coming from - start by looking in the mirror. Our own personal greed is where it came from. No one saves or does without....instant gratification is top priority. gotta have the best and have it now.

Things would be different with McCain in office. I would feel as though our future would be safe in his hands. I do not feel we will be safe with Obama. Our backs are turned right now because we are all focused on our pocketbooks and not on what is going on in the rest of the world. Leave the economy alone, it will correct itself.

Time will decide that George W Bush is/was a great president. How soon we forget what a mockery Clinton made of the presidency. Soon we will be belly aching about Obama.

  22. I know Ms. Luna like the other commenter. This time her mission was to keep a job for her husband in the EPA. He will be job hunting real soon. She didn't want to taint her motives with anyone else. It was all about Bonnie and Luis.

Pull out of Irag and do what??? Leave the region open for Osama Bin Laden and the nut in Iran? Don't think so. This is different then pulling out of Korea or Vietnam. This would be a threat to our American soil. Hello?Terrorism, 09/11/2001. What are you talking about correcting? Yes, scale back on troops but not pull out.

  24. anonymous 1:32,

Scare me no longer Mr. President.

Bin Ladin was bullshit. He was the Oliver North of Bush's wana be war.

It would have been MUCH cheaper to hire the Mafia to go in and take care of those ALLEGEDLY in charge of a terrorist organization. HELLO!

Funny thing is, NO BIN LADIN! Gee, I wonder where he just up and disappeared to, on dialisis at that. Give me a break! You were sold a boat load of bullshit and Americans aren't falling for it any more.

If you are right, then why was Ms. Luna wasting her time here when she could easily have worked for McCain in PA or VA where it might have made a difference. I think your BSing us, pal.

Her spouse will find some cushy and overpaid position with a Beltway bandit/lobbying firm (let's hope he doesn't wind up in a local government position here).

I won't go any further with this. See ya.

  29. Besides Mr. Luna, there's another Salisbury personage/Republican luminary who may be seeking other employment because of the "regime change" that's about to occur in DC. In short, the bloom is off the boom for Republicans with high level contacts in the GOP.

    Here's a resume (from Wikipedia):

Alexander M. Azar II was appointed by George W. Bush as the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Before this appointment, Mr. Azar served as General Counsel at HHS.

Prior to his service at the Department of Health and Human Services, Mr. Azar was a partner with the law firm of Wiley Rein in Washington, D.C. He was previously an Associate with Kirkland & Ellis.

Mr. Azar is a graduate of Parkside High School, Dartmouth College and Yale Law School. He later worked as a law clerk to Judge Michael Luttig and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

Although a talented lawyer, Mr. Azar has no direct experience with medicine, medical science or health care.

In May 2007 Azar left the HHS to become senior vice president of corporate affairs and communication for Eli Lilly and Company, reporting directly to Chief Executive Sidney Taurel.

  33. Another black man has been set up to fail.
Just like the Universities that force admission for people based on skin color, Obama got elected.
Just like most of the balcks that get in to ivy league schools, Obama is not even close to qualified for the job. The excuses are already out about how "difficult" it will be for Obama to solve problems because they are "unprecedented".
    Bulls88t!
He won't solve anything because he represents the party of the problem not solutions.
Socialism does not work! It has been proven time and time again all over the world!
I wonder how the dumbocrats will blame their failings on the Republicans now?
The Dumbocrats have all the control...now they can only blame themselves for the mess they make!
4 years from now this country will have a majority of whining government handout dependant slackers and a third world economy to pay for them.
    Mark my words!

  37. Wow most surprising post I've ever read on this site. I usually read it for the local news and laugh at the opinions.
For everyone saying what bad socialist "changes" Obama will make you have to be going off the negative things said about him which is ignorant.
Go see his platform and what he actually does once he's in office. Don't just believe what the neo-cons say.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Joe, you said it perfectly. I agree with everything you said. The first year Obama's in office it'll be a hard road but that's only because of how badly George Bush has run us into the ground. I wonder how much more damage he can do before he leaves the big house.

    K

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anon3:37-

Bigger question would be how much more damage would have been if McCain followed in Bush's footsteps for at least another 4 years?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Joe, great post, but I'm disappointed that you couldn't have been this fair throughout the election. That's part of why McCain lost -- the negative b.s. and the passing on of ugly lies, gross exaggerations of "associations" to say Obama was "palling around with terrorists" (Palin's words, but McCain didn't shut that down since she used it over and over and over and over...)

I guess this is your version of a concession speech, and all I gotta say is, I hope you put this into PRACTICE, rather than going right back to the malicious fictitious slamming.

We've got plenty of real problems to discuss. People don't need to keep lying about the duly elected president-elect.

  45. Letter to the editor:

Remember the days of John Wayne, Nathan Hale, John Paul Jones, Ronald Reagan, and the Founding Fathers who wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution? Great men of vision, and intestinal fortitude to boot.

But on November 4, 2008, the once free United States of America committed mass suicide with spoon fed socialist strychnine by exalting Barack Obama, a known confidant of terrorists Bernardine Dorne and William Ayers, to the "presidency".

If any indication of his "presidency" is like what the Black Panthers did at a poll in Philadelphia, America is doomed. Thuggish behavior such as this is killing America.

So what do we have left folks? Spineless politicians who are not statesmen. Prostitutes who sell their souls for power. And the average everyday Joe? Screwed right where the brown comes down. And the real Americans? Thrown out as yesterday's newspapers. Spat upon by the communists, and other thugs who are about to kill Liberty.

So where do we go now? It is time to regroup, and weed out those who sold out America. It starts locally, and we must take back America, or what is left of it.....

Obama will eclipse Jimmy Carter. And I will predict Obama will be the worst "president" America, or whatever is left of it, has ever seen.

Keep the powder dry, and pray to God we can survive the socialist Tsunami that is about to hit us.....
