Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony In Salisbury

Last night some 200 people showed up to watch the lights switched on for the first time this season. It was cold and it seemed like it took forever for them to flip the switch but as always it was a beautiful sight and everyone can enjoy it each night until January. That is, if the City can afford the electric bill after the recent bad news of how broke the City actualy is.

The Mayor seemed overly joyous and excited saying this was her very favorite time of the year.

  3. The federal, state, county and city governments have us all in such debt that we didn't ask for, it's going to take twenty years to crawl out of this hole we are in if not longer.

Why does the government give our tax dollars away when it is against the wishes of the taxpayers?

Breaking News: GW just approved an unemployment extention until after the holidays. If I were unemployed it would be just enough to make me wonder how long after Christmas that I will loose my home.

  8. Can the City of Salisbury ever make any of you happy? Something nice like this and Joe and the gang always have to make a nasty remark. You just can't post anything with out a smart ass coment about Salisbury somewhere in the story. The Daily Times don't put smart ass comments in their stories.

  9. Joe...I thought you said this was a tree lighting. Looking at that picture of the Mare makes it appear to be a scene straight out of the Wizrd of Oz. She is a dead ringer for the Wicked Witch of the East. Where are her flying monkeys?

LMAO... that was my first guess. Does she actually think the citizens are happy with the quality of life in Salisbarrie?

  13. You know what, I think that dingbat does.

No different than Comegys actually thinking he can win as Mayor.
The Daily Times will do everything possible to get him in and you know what, it will finaly prove just how crooked they are.

    Lynn

Dang she must want that road named after her real bad. Lynn I doubt you see that as I expect the city will soon need to decide when to yank that $14,000,000 TIF (our future tax dollars are not garunteed revenue) get our TIF money back and apply it to the debt that equals $3000 for every man, women and child in this city.

The city debt equals just about the entire yearly Salisbury budget. It's like paying your mortgage with a credit card because you have no money.

  16. Why wasn't that drunken mare at the Salisbury Fire Department Banquet tonight(Saturday)?

She was supposed to be there. We were hoping she would drink more jello shooters with us and dance on the tables.
