On July 26, 2008, the Salisbury Police Department was advised that it had met the requirements for re-accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). This was the Salisbury Police Department’s fifth re-accreditation since the original accreditation award in 1987. As a result of uninterrupted accreditation since that date, the department was given Meritorious status.
The re-accreditation represented the successful completion of a continuous process of thorough agency wide self-evaluation, concluded by an exacting outside review by a team of CALEA independent assessors. This recent evaluation and review took place in December of 2007. The Salisbury Police Department is the only department on the Eastern Shore of Maryland that has attained accreditation.
The Salisbury Police Department was the 45th police agency earning accreditation status in the United States. There are now 747 departments that are accredited in five (5) different countries. A Department’s continued accreditation status reflects a continuing quest for professional excellence by remaining in compliance with CALEA standards. CALEA accreditation has become the primary method for a police agency to voluntarily demonstrate its commitment to excellence in law enforcement.
If not for Coulbourne Dykes they wouldn't have this accrediation at all.
ReplyDeleteSay THANK YOU, chief.
Hate to say it 10:46, they have to QUALIFY each year, and it's not because of Dykes they QUALIFIED this year!
ReplyDeleteANON 11:56==BS COULBOURNE DYKES STARTED IT ALL AND THE REMAINING ADMINISTRATORS THAT WERE UNDER HIM HAVE KEPT IT GOING.THANK THEM NOT THE BS CHIEF NOW
ReplyDeleteDykes WAS the one who DID get this started!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me why the current chief does NOT wear a uniform while working day-to-day business? The only time I have seen this man in uniform is for a funeral. Chief Dykes ALWAYS wore his and was proud of it.
It bothers me as well that the Chief never wears a uniform.
ReplyDeleteBecause Webster could give a shit less. Its his retirment job. Other officers do the work, he takes the credit. If he wore the uniform he might have to actually do something other than ride around in his car. Webster is not qualified to wipe Dykes's shoes. Hell, he cant even wipe his own ass unless he has Barrie's permission. No balls Webster. Collect that $95,000 and keep on cruising.
ReplyDeleteCALEA was started by Chief Dykes. It benefits the dept. in many ways. It involves the paperwork and how the day to day operations are done. It has nothing to do with the quality of the officers, how they wear their uniforms, hats are how bad the cars look. When Dykes was chief, all officer were squared away, they wore their hats ( or were charged) and cars were not drive with any damage, or missing hubcaps. The dept. as it is now can not hold a minature candle to when Chief Dykes ran the show. SPD is an embarassing failure. Chief Dykes has been rolling in his grave since Webster and Tilghman messed everything up. CHIEF COULBOURN DYKES THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE CHIEF OF THE SALISBURY POLICE DEPARTMENT!
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:53 - AMEN to that. Just like Paul Martin was a truly great mayor. Webster thinks he can demand respect. I have news for him though. The only officers that respect him are those he takes on his golf outings, those he promotes because they don't do anything to make him look bad and those who don't know their true gender. This place is a clusterf-ck. Thanks cheif for all do. You are awesome. You are a god. You are a waste of good . . . oops joe already used that!
ReplyDelete12:56,,,,the chief wear a uniform??? LOL, you really think he would be caught dead in wearing those pants? As hot it is out side???? He sweat his a$$ off. Only police officers who run around and do work have to wear those funny pants. VOTE BDU styl pants! Oh I forgot, that would make too much sence...SWEAT SPD officers!
