NEWS RELEASE
OCEAN CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND
On Wednesday, August 13, 2008, Ocean City Police Officers were working in
unmarked patrol cars when they noticed a man, later identified as Chad Jeffrey
Marciano, 19, of Milford, DE, smoking what appeared to be a hand rolled
marijuana cigar. Marciano was driving north on Coastal Highway when officers
witnessed him smoke the marijuana cigar and then hand the cigar to a female,
who was later identified as Cassondra Mae Rivera, 18, of Milford, DE.
While following Marciano, officers detected an odor of burning marijuana
coming from the vehicle. Also, officers noticed a young female and a toddler
who was seated in a car seat in the rear of the vehicle. The young female was
a 17-year-old relative of Rivera and the toddler was Marciano and Rivera’s
1-year-old son.
OCPD officers stopped the vehicle. During the stop Marciano admitted to
officers that he was smoking marijuana inside of his vehicle. Upon searching the
vehicle officers found one partially smoked marijuana cigar, and other related
controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
Marciano and Rivera were placed under arrest and charged with possession of
marijuana. Officers brought 17 year old and the toddler to the Public Safety
Building where they were turned over to representatives from Social Services.
Marciano and Rivera were taken before a District Court Commissioner and
released on their own recognizance.
People are so stupid! Why dont they just get high at home BEFORE they get in their car?
ReplyDeleteOnce in OC, they think they are invicible.
ReplyDeletea few weekends ago, there were 2 teens sitting on the window sill of the back doors on an s10 blazer. They made it from 60th st to the inlet without getting caught.
Is there a law against smoking & driving? Because I wonder why where they pulled over? Was it the appearance of smoking something other than a cigarette, or because they were smoking while driving?
ReplyDeletethey were pulled over because they looked like cheech and chong...
ReplyDeleteThey were pulled over for driving a car in OC! That's about all it takes there. Driving after dark is considered a suspicious activity!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I'm not really kidding.
These people aren't too intelligent, but seriously, with the cops in OC, you really are guilty until proven innocent.
Is it still two weeks training and then a gun for the seasonal cops?

ReplyDeleteFirst off, OC is what it is because they take a strong hand to crime. Know what you are talking about before you open your mouth.
There was 2 undercover detectives who saw these jackasses smoking weed in the car with a 1 year old in the car. They called for a officer and they were pulled over and arrested for CDS.
Great Job Guys!!!
bc, we used to have something like that in delmur to. there gone now.
ReplyDelete(ha,ha,ha...).
"While following Marciano, officers detected an odor of burning marijuana
ReplyDeletecoming from the vehicle."
One more lying cop, if that SOB smelled burning marijuana while driving, it was coming from his own ashtray. The only person that will lie more than an OCPD cop is one from Salisbury.
" people are so stupid! Why don't they just get high at home before they get in their car?"
ReplyDeleteOMG Really???
Would that have made it any better? I think NOT... They'd still be high and driving with a BABY in the car!
Well... OK maybe a little bit better. At least then child wouldn't have been inhaling second hand pot smoke. It's still a stupid idea.
Sadly, this dosen't surprise me.
What a buz kill.
Ok, let me get this straight. OCPD is a bunch of jerks for arresting people who break the law? And there's no way the cop could have smelled the marijuana coming from the car? Puleeze! I live in a city in another state that is near the beach. These guys drive around with their windows down, and my windows are up with the a/c on, but my "flow-thru ventilation system" draws their smoke into my car! Nad believe me, I can smell the difference between the regular cigs and the "funny" ones! As for getting high at home and then driving with a baby and another child in the car, stupid idea. I hope 4:10 was being facetious.

ReplyDeletemaybe the OCPD arrested your dumb a$$ and that is why such haste. Whatever, if you cant tell the difference between a cig and skunky smelling maryjane, then something is wrong.
No problem killing your child with tobacco though.
ReplyDeletevThey will probably get PBJ. My sister in laws boyfriend (23 years old) was pulled over for smoking pot at 2 am on a back road near Denton. He had a 14 and a 15 year old in the car with him. Went to court and PBJ was all he got. Should of been a stiffer sentence.
ReplyDeleteAstonesthrow, Sorry you couldn't detect my sarcasm or pick up on my sense of humor. I guess it's hard to do in typed form.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry two cents...I would have picked up on your humor sooner or later. I'm new here please forgive me? :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think smoking weed is as bad for you as drinking or smoking cigarettes. I know many people over the years that have died from alcohol related accidents and have had family memebers die from lung cancer or other cigarette related diseases. Yet, I have never known someone to die from b/c of marijuana. Still, keep the kids out of it.
ReplyDeleteLEGALIZE IT!! JUST DONT ACT LIKE MORONS LIKE THESE TWO.
ReplyDeleteThese individuals leaving the anti-OCPD comments are just unhappy because they can't be one:) I bet they make a point to watch ALL of the Police shows on TV though...
ReplyDeleteI smoke better when I drive anyways...or is that I drive better when I'm high???? Dude...I'm so high...
ReplyDeletePeople act like they own their own bodies. Like they can drink, smoke, eat whatever they want just because it is their own body. Well wake up! The rest of us see you, smell you, and hear you. You people need to get in line and in a hurry. We don't need people going around in this life acting like they can say, eat, drink, smoke whatever they please. This is America. Start acting like Americans.
