BREAKING NEWS! A Sheriff's Deputy Gets In Accident On Rt. 50 Moments Ago

A Sheriff's Deputy had been heading east bound on Rt. 50 and was attempting to make a left onto Memory Gardens Lane. While crossing Rt. 50 a vehicle heading west bound collided with the Sheriff's Deputy. Both drivers were not injured, fortunately.

While I'm at it, I'm told that a State Trooper in Easton was heading to an accident scene today when the MSP hit a vehicle allegedly killing two people. I'm still checking into the story and none of this has been confirmed.

A Maryland State Police cruiser and a passenger car collided Monday afternoon on State Route 33 in St. Michaels. The collision occurred at the entrance/exit to the Graul's Market, according to witnesses. Route 33, the only road in and out of St. Michaels, was blocked for several hours as a state police accident reconstruction team worked at the crash site. Two people are believed dead as a result of the crash. State police have not yet released the names of the police officer driving the cruiser or the people in the other car.

  3. This is a very bad intersection, there have been some really bad accidents there you would think it would have a light by now.

  4. OK, what will we do? Suspend the deputy? If so, with or without pay? Shall we give him a desk job since obviously he can't drive? Usually an accident is just that...but how much LARGER of a story would this have been if it was SPD?

  6. It was an accident. Perhaps you don't know what an accident means? Let's go back to the Maryland State Trooper Todd and the Posts I put up about his multiple accidents. Are you kidding me? These guys live on the streets day in and day out and are bound to end up in accidents. More Anti Albero Bloggers with nothing better to do with their time, that's all.

  7. Joe, i'm not saying this deputy should loose his job. As a matter of fact i have total respect for the job they do and i agree it was an accident. So nobody is trying to say that. As you would say don't put words in my mouth. The point is if it was an SPD you would want his head and the mayors and so on. You always try to turn the tables on people. We know it was an accident and that's that.

  8. if the county sheriff was crossing the road, then the car traveling west bound has the right of way, did the sheriff forget basic traffic laws?

  10. when your driving on the highways day in and day out.. its not a matter of if the officer will get into a wreck its a matter of when. its going to happen. part of the dangers of the job. these guys put their lifes on the line everyday of the week dealing with wacko's and drunks drugies criminals etc. give them a break

  11. No one is saying that these guys should be above human and never have an accident. What I believe the comments are referring to are the fact that if the vehicle had been one from another agency, the story would have had a slant to it. I remember posts about accidents involving fire equipment and other law enforcement vehicles and you would have thought the world was ending.
