A Family enjoys a beautiful day out fishing on Leonard's Mill Pond this past weekend. With temperatures at hot as it's been, what have you been doing to stay cool?

Staying in the A/C just like an old person. How embarassing. I rush from house to car to office. I even found myself complaining about the heat to another person at the bank yesterday, just like an old person. Hmmm. I might be a "new" old person. How can you tell for sure?
We used to swim at Leonards, in fact my sons took swimming lessons there, it seems like eons ago. It used to be such a great place to take the kids for a day out, picnic, swim, play. We did the same at Schumaker. Sadly, those days are long gone.
Why is that, anon 9:54? There is no reason why this shouldn't be a clean pond. Sewers take the sewage away, so there shouldn't be any of that seeping into the water. Clearly the area is free from litter and other debris which could contaminate these ponds. Why are they no longer swimmable?

10:49.... a few years back this pond was closed due to high bacteria levels in the water. It's gotten better but I still wouldn't swim in it.
ReplyDeleteWouldnt eat nothing caught there either.Ironically almost all my neighbors have pools-I dont.I stay in AC on hot days either at work or home.
