Maryland 1st District congressional candidate Frank Kratovil has been crowing about his campaign's designation as a DCCC-targeted race. His buddy, DCCC chair Chris Van Hollen is promising to pour all kinds of special interest money into Kratovil's race.
We shouldn't be surprised that Van Hollen is capable of funneling cash into Kratovil's campaign coffers. Van Hollen is one of the TOP 3 PORKERS in the US House, according to Citizens Against Government Waste.
Kratovil, who claims to reflect "Eastern Shore values" and attacks his conservative opponent, Maryland Sen. Andy Harris (R-7) for taking small dollar contributions bundled by the low-tax, pro-growth Club for Growth, is starting to show First District voters what he's really about.
IF "Eastern Shore values" include high taxes, begging money from special interest lobbies that want to harm our economy, higher government spending and creeping socialism - all values personified by Kratovil's new best friend Van Hollen - then perhaps Kratovil really does reflect the values of Maryland's First District.

I knew it, I could smell that runt from here
ReplyDeleteyou're late on this one. A couple of months ago he said in an article in the Baltimore sun that he admired O'Malley and would support him!!! We know O'Malley's position on shore issues. Also don't forget does Kratovil support O'Malley in his agenda against the MSP.... remember Bob Bambari!!

Sorry to say that those would be the better or redeeming values of the Pocomoke City Government.
We have become a "nanny state" where everyone is "entitled" to their pice of the government pie.
To Quote Spike Lee from last week:
"It's going to be chocolate city at the white house after Obama is elected..."
Boycott Gordo's Exxon's, he is sporting the ugly Kratosmell sign's at his stores.
ReplyDeleteTop congressional Porkers?
ReplyDeleteUhhh. That would be the Republicans. They nearly tripled the pork expenditures under Bush, and much of that money went to Red states.
Why do you think they lost the majority??
They lost their majority because they forgot their principles.
Higher government spending? That too would be the Republicans under Bush. HUGE increases!! They hired so many new contractors in Washington, that the roads there are now clogged.
"Van Hollen is one of the TOP 3 PORKERS in the US House, according to Citizens Against Government Waste."
ReplyDeleteSorry. Not true. Van Hollen is ranked 119th at www.cagw.org
And, he's ranked the 3rd BEST voting record in Maryland behind Wayne Gilchrest and Roscoe Bartlett
I like a spirited political debate, but let's not resort to lies and distortions.
I just copied this off swineline.com You must be looking at old information - check out the date. Van Hollen is indeed in the top three.

Washington, D.C. - Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) today released its preliminary analysis of the House version of the Fiscal 2009 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act. In total, there are 1,370 earmarks worth a staggering $618.8 million of taxpayer money. This represents a 5 percent increase in number of projects, but a whopping 122 percent increase in dollar amounts over the FY 2008 version, which had 1,305 earmarks costing $277.9 million. The top three porkers are as follows: Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii), $168.5 million; Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), $161.3 million; and Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-S.D.), $148.5.

Uhhh. My data was ACTUAL 2008 pork data.
ReplyDeleteYour data is 2009 PRELIMINARY data. They haven't even voted on the 2009 budget yet, and probably wont for a full half year. Things will change before they are passed. Bet on it.
If you want to ding Van Hollen for trying, that's OK...
If Bush was smart, he'd kill all pork spending again. What good is a divided government if all they do is "divide" the spoils.
Sorry about that. I should have read a little closer but you have to admit he seems to be aspiring to a spot in the top three.
