COMCAST SUBSCRIBERS: Get Ready to Pay the "PAC 14 Tax"
Here is the document that has been drafted for signature by both Salisbury's Mayor Barrie Tilghman and Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt. Apparently the plan has been approved by a so-called "Transition Team" that was assembled and acted with little or no public disclosure at the request of the three "partners" in PAC-14: the City of Salisbury, Wicomico County and Salisbury University.
For names of members of the Transition Team see --

This is a message beings sent around Salisbury today and yesterday.

Here we go again with another tax that will only go up in the future.
ReplyDeleteAnother "deal" made in the sunlight. I plan to cancel to COMCAST package, which includes internet, telephone and digital service and go to VERIZON!
ReplyDeleteKen Smith
That's OK I'm about to drop Verizon and go totally with Comcast, cable, phone and high speed Internet. Not having to pay the Verizon franchise fee will balance it out somewhat.
ReplyDeleteThis is still another one of those times I'm glad I live in Sussex County! I thought a "Public Access Channel" was a part of the franchise agreement to start with? For those who don't know, a "Franchise" agreement is so Comcast gets sole rights to provide cable in the area. God forbid we should allow competition and get reasonable rates!
ReplyDeleteCall Verizon you'll be talking to somebody in Pakistan. Can't help it I get pissed when I wait so long then can barely understand the person I'm speaking with.
ReplyDeleteA franchise fee to have sole rights to the business they should be paying us. commie pigs
ReplyDeleteok 9:54am, you must be one of th partners that getting a comcast special package for pushing this crap thru...
ReplyDeleteAny one of our elected officials signs this agreement without legit public imput needs to be yanked out of office and run out of town. This commie type leadership isnt going to stop untill heads roll....and that needs to happen all the way to the top. We know barrys out the door so she'll sign and slap us with another tax, Pollitt....you better think twice big boy! WHY THE HELL does anyone at SU have a say in what prices/taxes I have to pay for cable?
Screw them all get Direct TV for tv and internet and vonage for your phone.
ReplyDeleteFrom the letter----
ReplyDelete"It is now time for Comcast to become an equal partner by supporting our capital needs"...
That's bullsh*t!! Comcast is the collector---it is the people that are being FORCED to become partners without any say in the matter, and whether or not you watch the show.
I have had ENOUGH of this Commie Crap that goes on in this town and county.

Comcast is why dish tv subscribers can't get "local channels" They buy the rights to broadcast or not in a bidding war in which not many can compete.(you CAN get local channels with a dish provider, for a fee. To me "local channels" aren't worth that much, so not having them isn't a loss.)
ReplyDeleteThe "best cable provider" on the shore...as if there were others. RRRRRip, rip, RRRRRip!
ReplyDeleteJust like having to purchase light bulbs which may or may not be efficient and CERTAINLY ARE a pain come disposal time!
ReplyDeleteThought it was a free country. If we don't want this, we shouldn't have to pay for it!
