Look, we're encouraging everyone to physically go to tonight's City Council Meeting but for those who cannot be there, we're going live from the GOB!
Tonight may prove to be the most important meeting the Citizens of Salisbury could participate in and I know several people who don't normally attend plan on attending tonight.
Nevertheless, don't miss our LIVE Broadcast and hopefully everything goes as scheduled.
It really frosts my tail to read where the SBYnews.com is going to host a live blog in coverage of tonight’s City Council meeting in Salisbury, that will be taking comments from people WATCHING AT HOME ON CABLE TV!!! UNLIKE the openly corrupt Pocomoke City Government that has refused to accept the FREE PUBLIC ACCESS CHANNEL REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW SINCE 1984, so they can operate in the dark.
ReplyDeleteWe heard a little bit of ‘lip service’ from Mayor McDermott about “open government” and broadcasting the city council meetings but he has done a complete about face. It seems the time the Mayor started really openly supporting King Boss Hogg Russ Blake was about the time he used an unlicensed home improvement contractor to paint his house. I’m sure you all have heard the story about how Pocomoke Cities uncertified building inspector recommended an un-licensed home improvement contractor when is job is actually to FIND unlicensed contractors and stop them from working in the City limits.
Tonight the citizens of Salisbury have the OPTION to watch a live city council meeting broadcast FREE over the exclusive cable providers network as a condition of exclusivity. They have the option to comment and read comments from others in real time over the internet from a blogger with a lap-top and cell phone modem.
The people of Pocomoke City are forced to personally come to city hall, sit and a small room with bad heating & AC circulation then be subject to open public ridicule from openly corrupt city officials if they DARE QUESTION ANYTHING or anyone at the council table.
How much longer is this going to last?
Why does the government of Pocomoke City insist on forcing personal appearances to find out what is *REALLY* going on at city hall?
Why is King Boss Hogg Russ Blake still darkening the doors of City Hall after 32-years?
Why is Honiss Cane allowed to sit at the council table after disqualifying himself by moving out of his district?
Why does the City “Building inspector” recommend un-licensed contractors to perform work requiring a MHIC license within the city limits?
Go to City Hall and ask any of these questions and expect to be shouted down, insulted or to have a uniformed police officer stop by your house a few days later to ask why you are asking these questions.
It’s Pocomoke…
Boy, I thought we had it pretty bad in Salisbury, but Pocomoke takes our problems and makes them look tiny. Thanks to Joe for doing what he does so well. To put the public on the air through the internet is really good for those of us who can't make the meeting for physical reasons. Dot said she was going to go though.

Thanks to all of you who make this exchange of information and ideas possible. It's thankless work, and on top of the criticism and rudeness oftentimes shown to Joe and his associates, it's all for free.
