Tim Chaney Hosts Their Annual Block Party
Sheriff Lewis & Tim Chaney pose for a shot during Tim's Neighborhood Block Party.
A local Clown came to entertain the crowd.
Babe Wilson & Mike Elliott entertain the kids inside the mobile command unit.
County Executive Rick Pollitt joins in on the fun.
It must be an election year?
Everyone seems to want to pose with Sheriff Lewis. It was a great time at this Block Party where they offered free sodas, free Hot Dogs and $1.00 each for chicken strips that were to die for, just ask Mike & Rick.
I wonder where Barrie Tilghman was that day? Great Job Tim!
Free food, Shanie is there. Forget it Shanie, District 1 has fed you $10,000 annually since you've been in office. NO MORE! You're outta there, sistah.

ReplyDeleteWas that DingleBarryie?
I can't take credit as host, The Community Foundation grants make things like this possible for many groups like ours, The President's Neighborhood Association.
ReplyDeleteIt was a pleasure to meet and greet the many neighborhood kids and their parents, offer them some free entertainment, food and cold beverages.
Pastor Sally Dolch of Saint Andrew's is a key link in our chain. Our group may be small in numbers but events like this is what may attract more volunteers.
Kathy Brittingham, Rick, Kay, Dan, Ron, George and Art with the help of members of the church's youth group "The God Squad" all did their share (Forgive me I'll have to do another post with last names) we've been together a while, I guess last names are secondary to getting down to business to make things happen and the events successful.
I do want to thank the Sheriff's Department, Mike Lewis and company came thru in a big way, and thank you Tim Spies, Shanie Shields and Rick Pollitt for attending, and thanks Joe for giving us some space in what looked like a busy day for good things happening here in Wicomico county. I know many others would have been at our event but there are only so many hours in a day, it was a busy day, I thank you all, you know who you are!
A special thank you to Captain Mike Elliott who suffered an accident on his way home. You are in our prayers Mike and family, if there is anything we can do for you, Mike knows how to contact me and just let us know, anything you need is the least we can do and it shall be done!
There are good people here, trying to do good things, and that is what really matters. Kudos to everyone who endured the sun and heat of the hottest day of the year so far, for every event that was sponsored and made for a fruitful day for so many people. Good job Peoples!
Why would Barrie want to attend anything with the likes of SOME of these [eople who attack her every day of her life??
ReplyDeleteShanie can't please you people no matter what. She comes out to support this great event and you have a problem with that. I know this won't get posted because you only post want you want and if it suits YOUR needs so I may as well let you have it. The Sheriffs Department is not the only law enforcement agency that gets anything accomplished. Why don't you spend some time with the SPD or MSP for a change? The Sheriffs Department seems to want everything they do in the news for their own political needs and YOU are there to accomidate. You make it sound like all we need is the Sheriffs Department. Hunter Nelms was a great Sheriff and you didn't follow him around taking snapshots at every function he attended. GIVE US A BREAK!! Also for the post about anonymous...think about it, you just had to use Barrie as an example! Why not throw this in there...if you say anything about the almighty Sheriff's Dept. they will follow you until you touch the yellow line in the road and charge you with numerous bogus charges.
ReplyDeleteWhat you talking about Willis? I not only thanked Shanie twice at the block party, I thanked her here on this blog and in a personal e-mail.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the mayor wasn't invited, it wasn't in my budget LoL
Also by the way the city police were invited, they were to set up a crime prevention table and have McGruff the crime dawg for the kids, sorry to say, they were a no-show.
I really understand too, I have asked for more city police at several city council meetings. The mayor and majority of the council say they can fund it and don't think it's needed. The taxpayers pay for Culligan bottled water in every city office in the town but can't fund public safety.
If the city police followed thu what they told us and were there, I'm sure Joe would have gotten pictures of them as well.
sounds like someone is just a tad jealous?
ReplyDeleteCorrection to post 11:52 That should have read "they can't fund it and don't think it is needed."
ReplyDeleteRich Weber and SRG. Swikertt (Sp?) have been to quite a few of our association meetings and in no way am I saying that they don't do anything for us. I know they need more officers and I'm not PO'd that they didn't come to our block party. In fact I think one has an illness in the family so I do understand.
I will just have to keep asking for more officers at council meetings. Not giving them the raise they thought that were going to get kind of disappoints me and I'm sure it's not good for moral.
Like the Chief said last night, "if it was easy everyone would want the job." At least we now know he has been making requests, it's up to the council to get it done. In this city? I don't think I'd want that job and probably wouldn't want to live here either~! I wish I could afford to move.
They don't go to council meetings because they already have too much negativity to deal with during their work day. Why go and ask for MORE disappointment Mr. Chaney?
