Sheriff Lewis Does It Again!
Incident: Possession of CDS
Location: Glen Avenue at Beaglin Park Dr., Salisbury, MD
Suspect: 1. John William Gordy, 52, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 3 April 2008, Sheriff Lewis stopped a vehicle operated by
John Gordy on Glen Avenue in Salisbury, MD. When Sheriff Lewis made
contact with Gordy, the Sheriff observed in plain view what he recognized
as a pipe used to smoke crack cocaine and an open container of alcohol.
Based on that observation, Sheriff Lewis conducted a probable cause search
of the vehicle. Inside the center console of Gordy’s vehicle, the Sheriff
located three separate small plastic baggies containing suspected Crack
cocaine, another small plastic baggie containing prescription drugs
(Valium), and an additional crack cocaine glass pipe. These items were
concealed inside of a Maxwell House Coffee bag which was further concealed
inside a vinyl eyeglass case.
Gordy was arrested and transported to the Wicomico County Central Booking
Unit where Gordy was charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute
CDS. After being taken before the District Court Commissioner Gordy was
released on Personal Recognizance.
ADDITIONALLY: I was told to keep an eye on this case as I believe there may have allegedly been additional drugs and or cash or both found as well.
John WILLIAM Gordy!
ReplyDeleteIs that the Gordy Tiger Mart Gordy
or someone else?
As a Salisbury resident: Thank you, Sheriff Lewis, for protecting us.
ReplyDeleteSomeone else.
ReplyDeleteYes, A huge thanks to Mike for his dedication in attempting to rid this county of drugs.
ReplyDeleteThey say the sheriff's nose for sniffing out drugs is better than any dog.
ReplyDeleteI guess Lewis could smell the gas in Ray Lewis's truck too. PLEEEEEZE!!! I am not bashing the Sheriff, however most if not all of his arrests come from tips.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 12:59,
ReplyDeleteAny relations to the criminal Ray Lewis?
Mike Lewis is not only the most professional Cop on the entire Eastern Shore, he's an EXPERT respected around the World for his God Given Gifts.
If you worked 1/10th as hard as this man you'd understand just how easy it comes when your fully dedicated.
If you don't believe me, grab a Pool Cue and come play a few games of 9-Ball and I'll easily show you what I mean.
There are quite a few EXPERTS out there...NOT JUST MIKE LEWIS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have heard so much about him I am sick!!!! HE IS DOING THE JOB HE CHOSE TO DO!!!! I don't see any of the fire service getting all of this recognition!!!! AND REMEMBER???? A REAL HERO DOES NOT NEED TO BE PAMPERED FOR DOING THEIR GOD GIVEN TALENT!!!
Another street bum hits the bottom pit. Great work thewre Mike - keep em coming!
ReplyDeleteA. Goetz
has salisburys police chief even ever pulled someone over? You mean in all these years he hasn't seen someone not fully stop at a stop sign, or go over the posted speed limit? Anytime i've ever seen him he's standing around with his hands in his pockets.
ReplyDeletewhen colbourn dykes was the police chief his name was known as the same as mike lewis, if your doing something you shouldn't be you better not let them catch you, cause you were going down. most people here couldn't even tell you what the salisbury police chief name is. good thing for this area there is a mike lewis.
Salisbury's Police Cheif is a Bald man and drives a black car. I know because he pulled me over and gave me a stern verbal warning for speeding in front of Bennett about a year ago. I was going over 50 late to class at SU. He was pissed but NO ticket so, I thanked him. He did run my License and stuff because it took like 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 3:56,
ReplyDeleteI believe you're Chief Webster himself, trying to cover his ass. If you had put your real name up I may have believed you but the anonymous is bullshit.
It's a shame that the sheriff and his deputies aren't allowed to make any arrest in the city of Salisbury. If they were, Barrie would be in trouble when driving drunk.

And how do you know most if not all of his arrests come from tips? That is the dumbest statement I have ever heard.

Look farmin, don't be a hater. If you had a few more points on your IQ you would qualify to be a deputy, but instead you took the easy way out and became a farmin. You will never amount to anything.

Is the road in front of Bennett even in the city limits? I don't think it is the SPD's juridiction. But of course Baldy, with a capital B, wouldn't even know this.
Hey Anonymous 8:59....you are the dumbass...even the Albero himself has been on the blog trying to get people to go to Mike Lewis with all of their information!REMEMBER?????? He gets all kinds of tips...that is why he looks like a hero! Now who is the dumb dumb?
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of a plea agreement?????? Tell me all of the information I can't find myself and I will see that you get on the good side of the jail!!!
ReplyDeleteHey 8:59....that would be the dumbest statement you have ever read....not heard. I don't believe I was talking to you...you would have been reading the statement!!
ReplyDeleteI think I learned that in first grade...I bet you are not a farmin!! Even they are smarter than that.
ok. Im glad that super cop has and does keep these people off the road , before they hurt someone else.
ReplyDeleteBut what happens after!
They the criminals are released on there own recog.
So they can do the same thing the next Night or day.
I dont get it i dont guess.
Those damn Gordy's are disqusting, aren't they?
ReplyDelete141 wicomico county shreiff deputies can arrest anywhere in wicomico county
ReplyDeleteanon 9:20 I dont hear anyone asking to be pampered and I am sure Lewis knows he is doing the job he was elected to do. He promised from the beginning he would do the job the citizens elected him to do. Looks to me like he is just being the good cop we all knew he has always been, just getting a blog kind of recognition. why does it bother you to see someone give credit where credit is due. His office is due alot of credit they have come along way baby!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOn an earlier post regarding the FOP someone asked about a source of information, I thought I would post it on this post also so you wouldnt miss it.

said Oh please tell us what those more dangerous jobs are and please cite the source so that we can check it out ourselves.

Structural metal workers 58.2

Roofers 37
Electrical power installers 32.5
Farm occupations 28
Construction laborers 27.7
Truck drivers 25
Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics; survey of occupations with minimum 30 fatalities and 45,000 workers in 2002
On-the-job killers
Type of incident 2002 deaths
Aircraft accidents 192
Caught in running equipment 110

Looks like the police didnt even make the list. Sounds to me like the guys at the Roads Division, and Landfill have more dangerous jobs. Truck drivers, construction laborers, in and around moving traffic all day, (not parked in a parking lot, dunkin doughnuts)
And that is fatality rates, as far as injury rates, they are even lower on the list. Sorry guys
First of all what is a "farmin"? That isn't even a word. While I am on here I thought I would clear something up about that incident at mill street with the deputy that two people decided to get on here and say he was rude and cursed at this woman in the intersection. I too was in that intersection and I was able to move over and get out of the way. The woman the deputy got out to was too busy talking on her cellular device to move out of the way. If it was one of your relatives needing help and they didn't arrive in a timely fashion you would be bitching about how long it took for someone to get there. If a cop is behind you with their lights on MOVE!! If you truly can't move that is one thing, this woman just sat there like a bump on a log staring at him.
ReplyDeleteJust about any trooper can tell you that most of his work in his whole career has been tips! Thats not to say that its still not good work, you have to have some kind of re pore in order to get the tips, but hard work is finding it on your own! and there are plenty of other leo's who deserve more recognition for there HARD work!
ReplyDeleteJoe - Ask Mike Lewis why Barrie can drive drunk and not get a ticket. I know you give him tips and encourage others to be cooperative too. Fair is fair.Is Chief Webster the Mayor's guardian angel?
ReplyDeleteNot to mention Barrie has no clue what a SPEED LIMIT is!!!! I live down the street from her and flies down Division Street. Will some officer PLEASE have the balls to pull her ass over?! Oh yeah CHICKIE, STOP MEANS STOP!!!!! I would go through the academy just to be able to pull her ass over just once and catch her on a dash cam video. Hmmm, SPD does not have them yet. DAMN!!!
ReplyDeleteI take it the word Farmin' is just Delmarva hillbilly's term meant to be Fireman? I'm sure Bubba uses the term "Farmin'" whe talkin bout firemen. It's good Ole Boy ebonics.
ReplyDeleteEvery County should have their local hero. Sheriff Mike Lewis has been elected. He is popular, reduces crime, chases drug dealers away and does a good job. He is professional, supports his deputies, and is fair- no politics played.
ReplyDeleteStop picking on my Bubba. I told you before how I felt about the so-called firemen's brotherhood bullshit.I'd like to know who keeps putting his name on the blog and meet up with you at the firehouse. I'll show you how much woman I am.
ReplyDeleteI want all Sheriff department cars to be equipped with noise meters and get some of these loud stereo cars off the road. Some times one pulls up behind me and my car vibrates from the stereo turned up so loud. Makes me right nervous. The other day I just sat there when the light turned green while one of them blew and blew his horn. I got out and said when you turn that noise down maybe I can get my thoughts together enough so I can drive. I'm 74 and my nerves are already bad.My daughter helped me with this blog. Computers confuse me.
ReplyDeleteI understand Bubba is going to be a fire policeman. Does that mean he will have arrest powers? Will he have his own fire car with radio and all the equipment? Sounds like a nice promotion to me. Must be the chief's boy.
ReplyDeleteJoe, what's this I hear that Ray Lewis is putting up big money to sponsor something downtown? This is a plea agreement to forgive him for stealing a little bit of diesel fuel. Sonds like a good agreement since some of the higher -ups who are guilty are not going to be prosecuted. They'll drag this whole landfill robbery out until the public forgets and their attentions are redirected.Good idea to play on human nature.
