Bonanza In Delmar Burns Down

The Bonanza in Delmar, DE. experienced a major fire early this morning around 5:00 AM. Several Fire Departments were called in to help assist putting it out and the cause is still unknown.

The photo above was given to me from:

  2. It was probably those neon signs they've had on 24/7 since they closed. BTW, Fire in the Hole Photography will certainly get typecast taking fire scene photos.

  5. Wow Joe, this is fabulous. Not the photo or the fire. Well the photo is a pretty good shot. The fact that you and Wayne Barrall have obviously come to term. Congratulations to both of you. No matter how this reconciliation came about, I'm glad that it did. It takes a big person to bury the hatchet, even bigger people to admit there is a hatchet to bury.

    Congratulations, once again.

  6. I find the whole thing suspicious.

Some foreign group comes in and buys all of the Bonanza's from the guy who had originally owned them all for years and did well at it. The new people fire all of the workers who had been with the company, bring in family members to run the places they all go down hill and quick, they quit paying their Sysco bill and the next thing you know they are all closed down... and no one emptied the refrigerators or anything. Highly suspicious in my book!

  7. IT WAS THE NEON LIGHTS!!! I said that at 10:55 this morning, and it turns out I was right! For the last seven months I've commented on those lights every time I've gone by...about how dangerous that was. Turns out I was right.

  8. This is a great step in the right direction.

It is strange though, when Joe was posting on JFA blog, there wasn't the scrutiny there is now, however it is for the best. When given lemons make lemonade.

It would serve a better purpose to pick and choose our battles with only rock solid documentation or pictures to prove a point. I have stayed away from the fire department squabbles with the exception of how the new firehouse property was purchased. Borderline ethic's questions, and possible conflict of interest.

Other than that, good job SFD.
