The Mayor claims that the subject of Albero "came up in interviews", but "was a non-issue". Please! Did Mayor Tilghman bring the subject up. I have a hard time believing that a candidate interviewing for the job would ask the Mayor questions about a blog. Not answered in Latshaw's article is a response from Tilghman regarding Tate's reported lawsuit against Zoo Boise.
The most amusing, and Clinton-like, remarks from the Mayor were, again, regarding Albero:
I've been very impressed in the ability of the professionals to put something as inconsequential as a blog behind them.
It must be remembered that Tilghman (as well as Salisbury Police Chief Allan Webster) is currently suing Albero. What does this say about the character and professionalism of Tilghman and Webster?

ReplyDeleteThis post is one of your bigger bullseyes as a blogger.
Barrie Tilghman has allowed the Zoo to become a real "zoo" (in the other sense of that word) and now wants to deflect public attention and criticism. Joe Albero is a target of opportunity in that effort.
This weekend walk through the Zoo and you will see why nobody in their right mind would want to move across the country to try to run it. If Ms. Tate initially wanted to do so, the reason she has reneged is probably because she became more familiar with her prospective boss as well as the inept mismanagement and financial plight of the Zoo.
Good to see ya writing again G.A.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is good to see GA is writing againand he has the Tate thing figured out about right. The mayor has to be either nuts or kidding that she blames Joe for her resigning so suddenly after accepting the position. She did probably find out what a mess she was getting into. But also, whoever did the interviewing must not have ever checked her out very well, or they would have considered the lawsuit she has against the Boise City for a
ReplyDeletecronic work injury. And I guess thats the physical problem she used as a reason to decline the job.

This woman has bumped her head, plain and simple. So it's Joe Albero's fault no one wants to take on a job at the zoo or in public works, or anywhere else in the city? The facts, when they are uncovered, tells the real story. Barrie and her cohorts have destroyed what was left of a fine little city. Under her leadership Salisbury is now ranked the 10th most dangerous city in the USofA. This too is surely Joe's fault as well.
ReplyDeleteI have a question for Greg Bassett. How do you sleep at night knowing you are a slave to one of the most irresponsible people in the county? It's not easy serving the master of disaster, is it?
Just when you think that the mayor and her cronies have reached the all time level of absurd reasoning they surpass it with another illogical and untrue theory that the Zoo hire didn't take the job because of a blogsite. Doesn't matter that the info on the blog site about the misusue of power, the illegal procedures used by the city , mayor, attorney, the absolute gutting of the taxpayers for wasteful projects that only benenfit the landlords, bankers, and developers is 99% absolutely true. Don't think that we will be fooled again Barrie, your days are numbered.
ReplyDeleteOkay what are the facts with the Zoo since Rapp took over? Triple the budget! Double the staff! Half, if even that many are left, animals housed there!
ReplyDeleteNow please fill me in on all the positives? New restrooms that took 3 years to complete. Don't forget the jackhammered floor to find the lost water main. A stage that exceeded it's height and needed correcting, a Tropics trail with nothing but plants and some goldfish that took around 8 years of planning to completion. The Flamingos he can't take credit for. Three master plans costing almost $100,000.00. A loose Jaguar, a dead Jaguar, 100's of other dead animals. Illegal drainage into the river. All new rules in the Zoo targeting me and of course lets not forget "Code 4". Someone tell me where the Zoo has improved? I'm at a loss.
Oh, truth? I have absolutely 100% spoken to candidated who applied for the Director's position at the Zoo. In fact, they told me that they would have INVITED me to see what their plans were, asked for my input and kept me informed along the way. THAT is what probably kept them from getting the job, because THAT probably pissed off the Mayor.
Oh, I HAVE to add, the ones that qualified and were OFFERED the positions, the CITY turned them down. NONE of them said they didn't want the job. NONE OF THEM! Including Lisa. Would they reconsider at this point? Hell No! The Mayor has PROVEN just how big an IDIOT she can be and they would absolutely 100% know that they could NEVER trust that woman.
It was a mater of SOMEONE being a YES MAN to the Mayor. Lisa was her pot of gold.
Trust me Ladies & Gentlemen, this is ALL about who the Mayor, Alessi and Caldwell can CONTROL. It had nothing to do with me. I had a lot to do with those who are no longer at the Zoo. I had nothing to do with Lisa getting hired and or fired.
IF YOU WANT TO DISPOSE OF ANIMALS DONATE THEM TO THE ZOO.
ReplyDeleteHey, Joe, according to both the Daily Crimes and the Grapevine, you are the reason the zoo can't get a director. It couldn't possibly be because of the ineptitude of the City leadership. It has to be blamed on that nasty, mean spirited Joe Albero. Again, Joe, the Crimes is giving you TONS of free advertising.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good post by G.A. Harrison, although I would knock off the comparison to Clinton because 1) it's not necessary, and 2) regardless of how one feels about Clinton, he was still a better president than Tilghman is a mayor.
ReplyDeleteSo the "professionals" got past Albero, but the mayor could not?
And speaking of both ways, according to the mayor, all is well at the zoo, and Jim Rapp was the next best thing since Jesus Christ, but now it's too "daunting" to get the zoo up to snuff in time for the AZA? Well, so sayeth the "professionals" she was praising.
WTF?
She should hold another press conference and tell people not to go to his blog.
I don't approve of Albero calling people "idiot" all the time, but I just might have to make an exception on this one.
And the Times? Do you think these guys could EVER do a real investigative piece? Not even "investigative." I'd settle for them just -- for once! -- asking a few logical questions!
I feel like I'm being asked what pill I want to take in The Matrix.
"I've been very impressed in the ability of the professionals to put something as inconsequential as a blog behind them."
ReplyDeleteSpoken by the mayor.
Apparently, she doesn't even impress herself.
