Red Net Alert! BOMB Threat @ Fruitland WalMart

To All Customers!

DROP EVERYTHING YOU HAVE A EXIT THE STORE IMMEDIATE AND GET AS FAR AWAY FROM THE BUILDING AS POSSIBLE!

The Fruitland WalMart Management refuses to confirm anything happened and instead forwarded me to their Media Relations 800#, 800-331-0085. They expressed to me that they are NOT allowed to release that information.

However, another source went into the Store and asked around and one of the employees confirmed it was in fact a Bomb Threat.

Happy Holidays Folks!

I should add, this happened around 1:00 PM today.

  1. Well this sure is a life shattering incident. It should end up on CNN.

  2. mcmd,

Are you from The Daily Times? Pissed that SBYNEWS.COM out scooped you once again? My bet, you'll not even read about it in tomorrows paper.

Take good note as well, The Daily Times was NOT at the Welcome Home today for one of our Soldiers and local Citizens. That's OK though, Chris likes my Blog better than the paper anyway. LOL

  3. Was it an actual bomb threat or just a suspicious package that someone panicked over?

  4. I have provided an 800# for you to confirm. I can't get anyone to reply, as of yet. I was informed it was a Bomb Threat, hence the title.

  5. Joe,

My son and I were in the store at the time. I can not confirm anything as far as why the store was cleared, but at 12:30pm an announcement came on the loudspeakers informing everyone to leave the store.

We were in the restroom at the time, and because of this I can not tell you exactly what the announcement said, but as we exited the restroom, there were several officers in the building instructing everyone to leave everything in their carts and leave the building.

The eveacuation was reatively calm and very orderly, with no visible "panicy, stampeding" people. One in the parking lot, people seemed more anxious than normal to get out of there (and the driving was a bit frantic) but there was realative calm for a "two-weeks-before-Christmas-evacuate-WalMart" event.

    FYI

  6. I think Dan sends entirely too much time in the boys room, both at school and at WalMart.

Okay, first of all, I'm glad you never have to pee on the job.

Next, it's unfortunate this had to happen this time of year. Sometimes it can be used as a cover to shoplift. Also, it could have been a disgruntled employee. When I worked at CallCenter Services a MILLION years ago, we had a lot of bomb threats, and most of the time it was some employee pissed off about being fired.

  12. That explains why when I got there yesterday afternoon, it was hardly anyone there and I breezed through the line! I thought it odd that there wasn't that many people there. I had just left the Mall and figured everyone was there!
