!!!!!Dispatcher Screws Up Again!!!!!

OK, so this gets a bit more complicated but as you read this you'll come to learn just how screwed up the Salisbury Police Department actually is.

At 3:10 AM this morning a neighbor on S. Division Street called 911 for a break in & entering. She was redirected to the Dispatcher at the SPD. She explained how there were two black males breaking into the Exotic Sound Building on S. Division Street, across the street from Gene's Taxi.

The Dispatcher explained he was not familiar with the area, could she better explain where the building was located. She explained again how there has been banging going on for a while as they were trying to break into the building and gave her address again and told him it was right across the street from her home. She then explained it was on the corners of Washington Street and S. Division.

The woman and her Husband sat on the front porch of their home watching was was going on while two men used sledge hammers breaking through the cinder block on the building after cutting the phone lines. Once inside, rather than breaking open any doors, they simply broke through the walls to assure no contacts were broken, possibly setting off an alarm.

While the neighbors sat there in disbelief, the buglers couldn't fit the 50" Plasma TV out the opening, so they went back to busting out more cinder blocks while the Police were dispatched down to the Pep Boys area of Salisbury, (yes, you heard me right) to Delmarva Motor Sports and NEVER showed up at this business whatsoever. THEY WERE THERE FOR ALMOST 1 HOUR, NO POLICE!

The buglers made so much noise it isn't funny and they completely walked away from the business with a brand new, still in the box Plasma TV as well as inventory of stereos and other inventory from inside the business.

I started checking into this and came to learn that ANOTHER business in Salisbury recently experienced a similar situation, the RAC Center. The buglers broke into an Industrial Building next door, then used sledge hammers to bust through the interior walls to get into the RAC Center and stole a bunch of Plasma TV's and electronics there too.

This could have easily been a slam dunk arrest but because the Salisbury Police Department has hired young, inexperienced Dispatchers who DO NOT LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE AREA, these criminals are getting off scott free!

Hey Barrie, How's the Chiefy working for you now? Salisbury, the 10th Most Dangerous City In America. Dee, Dee, Deeee! Let me add. The woman used her LAND LINE, the Police should have had a general idea where they needed to go. She mentioned Gene's Taxi. IF the Dispatcher would have said that over the radio, the Officers would have known where to go. She said Washington Street and S. Division Street, how did they end up near Pep Boys? GOT ANY ANSWERS CHIEFY?

  1. I witnessed someone breaking into my car last year. I called SPD as it was going on, the dispatcher asked me what I wanted them do about it. How about you send a police officer! They are clueless. Of course then it took a half an hour for a cop to show up too.

  3. Washington St. ends at Eastern Shore Dr. Exotic Sound and Tinting is located on S. Division St. near Rt. 13. I wish I was working last night!

  4. Fire this useless Police Chief--this department must be shaped up and he's not the man for the job.
Not too many years ago the City Council considered firing Webster--let's revisit that IMMEDIATELY.

  8. This City is in the toilet: Finance Director who can't do her work on time, questionable Fire Chief, Police Chief who can't run the dept., three Council members who don't do their homework and can't think for themselves and a Mayor who is not administering the City's business.

  9. Ouch! My fault. Washington St. does end at the railroad tracks. However, Exotic Sound and Tinting is located on S. Division St. and can be easily seen by Rt. 13. Dispatcher should have just broadcasted the name of the business.

  10. Are you sh*tting me?If the dispatcher had no clue then at the very least wouldnt any of the officers?Isnt "geographic knowledge" of an area required in those type of jobs?Dominos could have had a pizza there in 30 minutes but the cops couldnt find it?Where are the standards???The late Chief Dykes is rolling in his grave at what his accredited police force has become. Why isnt someone suing the current chief, instead of him suing everyone? Before you know it,this will be another business that leaves the city.

  11. Salisbury is most likely taking a nose dive in the crime area, and I would bet 10th dangerous would be flattering for the SPD.

I was again told by two people today that there was another shooting two streets down, and again no news about it! The police don't want the public to know I guess. They'd rather have defenseless ppl walking anywhere, they must not care about us citizens.

That's why I believe heavily on semi-automatics with multiple clips and lots of rounds. Go Hade.....Make MY fuggin' DAY! Heck with the police I'll call the meat wagon to come pick them up....

  12. Well at least 2 of you know where Washington St is, obviously your dispatcher doesn't. So there are no city street maps at SPD? How about Map Quest, anybody can get directions on that, even the dispatcher.

  13. When are people going to realize that its easy to get SPD to show up. All you need to do is call and say that there is underage drinking going on and they'll be there inside five minutes.

  14. I would recommend that you clarify which dispatchers screwed up. Sounds to me that it was the Salisbury Police Department's dispatcher that screwed up this time. The 911 call, if placed was transferred to the SPD operators and they possibly screwed it up. Keep in mind that Gordy and See want to take dispatching fire calls away from Wicomico's 911 center and have the Salisbury Police Department dispatch calls in the Salisbury Fire District. Can you imagine how many houses will burn and how many people will die if Gordy and See get their wish.

This information is 100% true and the city has been trying their best to get their own dispatching ever since Gordy, oops I mean David See became the fire chief. Nothing like the city duplicating services again.

  17. Oh, get real...what intelligent person is going to risk going up to guys with SLEDGEHAMMERS with a camera in the dark? You think she has a mega zoom professional outfit with infrared?

At least she called the cops! That's more than most would do.

Why should these people risk their lives for a business the SPD dispatcher can't even find? I guess you, Bobby Bad Ass, would have walked right over there and told them to smile while you photographed them. If you knew anything about the city you would know from the corner of Washington across ES Drive to S. Division would not be an easy photo shoot for the average person with the average camera. Not everyone has telephoto lenses.

That was because they were incompetent retards. The hardest part of their job was trying to stay awake. Getting rid of them was something smart the city did.

  21. "Sounds to me that it was the Salisbury Police Department's dispatcher that screwed up this time."

YES YES YES. After asking two cop friends about this tonight, this is exactly what they said happened. New dispatcher on the job who doesn't know the area!

  22. Two words for the chief and his dispatcher: YOU'RE FIRED!

  23. Joe:

This happened on a day that the dispatch and several patrol units were on loan from Boss Hogg and the Pocomoke PD.

You see the crack supply was low in Russville over on Honetown Avenue at Cane Corner.

These big screens are very popular with the folks around town and fetch big bucks...

You do know the City Manager of Pocomoke wrote himself and the Chief of police employment contracts where that simply can't get fired... even if they are caught stealing TV's and especially not for being stooopid.

So my theory is the Russville Cops were on PAY troll that night and well you know it just took a while to arrive.

Domino's sure could have delivered a pizza quicker and I am sure all that sledge hammering worked up a mighty big appetite...

  24. Tells you criminals here are getting bolder. Don't do the door or window since it'll set off an alarm.

But by golly, you can work at the wall and grab stuff for a full hour and skip away, no problem 'cause Salisbury ain't gonna do jack.

  25. I would love to hear what Jack n Coke has to say about this. They've probably been sitting up with Bassett all day trying to figure out how to spin this one. I can hear it now, Verizon had a problem and the dispatcher couldn't understand what the woman was saying, we're working on fixing that as we speak. Barrie takes full responsibility.
