Bill banning ‘no-knock’ raids in Virginia sent to Gov. Northam

Virginia’s General Assembly passed a bill banning “no-knock” search warrants Wednesday, clearing the way for it to go to Gov. Ralph Northam’s desk.

“I applaud my colleagues in the General Assembly for supporting HB 5099,” Virginia Delegate Lashrecse Aird, who introduced the bill, said in a statement. “This bill was drafted with significant input from stakeholders from both law enforcement and the criminal justice community, working together towards the goal of protecting more lives in the Commonwealth.”

The bill passed the House of Delegates last month. However, It's just now being reported!

The legislation, in part, is a response to the death of Breonna Taylor in Kentucky earlier this year. She was killed at home after officers entered to serve a no-knock drug warrant connected with a suspect who did not live there and was already in police custody.

    1. Lol yeah 304 because you were there and can account for the conflicting reports on a knock. Doofus there have been plenty of problems with no knock warrants predating the BT incident.

    2. Not only that bullets found suggest she shot at the police ... she was fired from her EMT job in 2016 because a bullet riddled body was found in her car

    5. Actually a witness says they knocked. But guessing you never looked into the information for yourself. Don't allow anyone to tell you what goes on, seek information on your own. Question everything.

  14. We have enough crap on the books now. Police reform is a crock of bull chit. We do just fine the way it has been since our existence. Let the police do their job and clean up the trash. Sure there may be a deadly mistake on occasion, same as traffic collisions and war. We aren’t in a bubble. The large percentage of police activity is performed flawless. I would not want to be in their position today. Stay safe my friends. Blue Lives Matter!
