Melania Trump unveils renovated White House Rose Garden

It’s all coming up roses Saturday at the White House.

First Lady Melania Trump gave the nation its first peek at the freshly renovated White House Rose Garden, just in time to use it as a backdrop for her Tuesday speech at the Republican National Convention.

“Excited to honor history & celebrate the future in our beautiful @WhiteHouse, Rose Garden this evening,” the first lady tweeted. “Thank you to all who helped renew this iconic & truly gorgeous space.”

The garden, located just outside the Oval Office, dates back to 1913 and was redesigned in the early 1960s under the direction of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

Trump’s changes include the restoration of the original diamond-shaped boxwood hedges and the installation of new rose bushes to honor the space’s history. The floral display includes cream-colored “JFK” roses, light yellow “Peace” roses, and the stark white “Pope John Paul II” rose to commemorate the pontiff’s visit to the White House in 1979.

  1. Didn’t have to renovate it. That lady could walk threw the bury and it would shine for the first time in years. You wouldn’t notice rainbow skreets or blm, for that matter. Might even look like Salisbury again. Go Trump!

  6. "...She said in a statement she hoped to better reflect the garden’s design in 1962, completed partly under the direction of Jackie Kennedy."

As you might recall, Jackie's work was interrupted by the death of her husband.

The renovation was reported to have been paid for by private donations.

  8. 3:33 She was trying to return it to the way Jackie Kennedy had designed it. You Democrats would think it was beautiful and artistic if the Obamas took a dump in a bucket and called it flowers. Which pretty much sums up their entire time in office.
