Investigators say knife recovered from car that Jacob Blake reached into; identity released of officer who shot him

Investigators say Blake admitted to having the knife in his possession

Wisconsin investigators gave an account of the controversial police shooting of Jacob Blake — with a crucial detail and also released the identity of the police officer who shot him.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigationreleased the details on Wednesday after two nights of violent protests, rioting and looting in Kenosha and other cities.

The account said that Kenosha Police Department officers responded to a call from a female saying that her boyfriend was refusing to leave her premises.

When they arrived, they attempted to arrest Blake, who resisted their commands. They tased him but he continued to resist. Officer Rusten Sheskey then fired at Blake seven times when he reached into his car.

  1. I DEMAND the knife company admit fault, immediately close company, beg forgiveness and pay all medical bills.

    1. That would be a seasoned police officer that fired 7 non lethal but paralyzing rounds from nearly point blank range. Sounds like our own highly skilled-attention-to-detail mall cops

    1. you ever been entangled with lunatic criminal ????

they are dangerous, and general force will not work

  6. Okay, he was carrying a weapon, he was a felon and a sexual predator, but did he need to be shot 7 times?

    2. Seven highly inaccurate times given it was point blank range! Leave the firearms to conservative gin owners who respect the right to bear enough to know how to properly use them.

    1. It wasn't in his hand - it was found in the car. If having any sort of a knife in your car or truck is justification for a police officer shooting you, did pretty much every person pulled over for speeding on the Delmarva Peninsula would be dead. How many of you have some kind of pen knife or a Leatherman or a buck knife in your car or truck? I'd guess a lot of us.

    4. He wasn't holding the knife and charging police. Have you even seen the video? If it was already in his hand, what was he reaching into the car for?

  11. 821 very unlikely he was fighting the police, sexually assaulted the women at the domestic, had a felony warrant, was tased, refused to listen, told police he had a knife, was going to the vehicle to get a weapon and hurt the kid in car or attack them again. I no it’s all a lie. But what I’m saying is I would kick the knife out of his hand soon as he grabbed it because I’m that good.

  12. We need to start holding cops accountable for their actions. Just because you have a badge and a few months of training shouldn't mean you're above the law just because of your occupation. There was no reason to shoot him once, let alone 7 times.

    1. You seem very well trained how would you handle it? A man that fought the cops, has a felony warrant (so fighting for his freedom) was tased refused orders, said he was getting a weapon n would kill them, goes to car, goes in car to get the weapon ???

    1. My kid isn’t a rapist and would comply with the officers orders if pulled over and wouldn’t pull a weapon because he thinks the law doesn’t apply to him because he’s black !

    2. Sounds like you are one of those types of officers that struggles to maintain even handedness with your entrusted power. And one that really doesn't deserve what we gave you.

  14. If black folks acted in a more civil manner 99% of their encounters with police officers would go much smoother.

Why? Anyone that attempts to kill a police officer deserves to die.
