Donald Trump: Congress ‘All Talk and No Action’ on Big Tech

President Donald Trump demanded Wednesday that Congress hold top Silicon Vally technology companies accountable.

“If Congress doesn’t bring fairness to Big Tech, which they should have done years ago, I will do it myself with Executive Orders,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “In Washington, it has been ALL TALK and NO ACTION for years, and the people of our Country are sick and tired of it!”

The president spoke as Amazon, Facebook, Google, and Apple executives began testifying digitally at the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday about the power of online platforms and censorship issues.

The Department of Commerce filed a petition to the Federal Communications Commission on Wednesday, challenging the regulation of large Silicon Valley social media companies.

“President Trump will continue to fight back against unfair, un-American, and politically biased censorship of Americans online,” the statement from White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany read.

  2. They'll never rise up against their donors. It's the main problem with our politics. Politicians are bought, not elected.

  3. Blah blah blah. Big tech is in charge of the world and 80 percent of the employees are in their 20s.

  4. While you're at it hold the pharmaceutical companies responsible too. Set limits to what they can charge for life saving medication. No more should $$$ be valued over human lives.

  5. Interfering with these companies it what is un-American, and not very Capitalist minded.

Remember, they have no obligation to give anyone a platform, and you not being able to post there is not your speech being taken away. You still have free speech.

The market will correct this, and all ready has started. There are services like Parlor that offer a place where they will not censor content, no matter how outlandish, nutty, false, or not backed by evidence of science it is. Conspiracy run a muck.

However, the government getting involved here is what the true tyranny is, and if you are conservative, how can you support this effort to make government even more intrusive, larger, and meddling with private citizens and companies.

Supporting what Trump wants is not a Republican or Conservative idea. I don't know how this ever got off the ground in the conservative camp. Ya'll freak out about "fake news" and there needs to be something done about it... but when fact checkers start doing it, you start screaming "censorship". Trump has this party so twisted and confused, and so far away from what it stood for it's not shocking that so many Republicans are opposing Trump now.

Damn!, As smart as Trump is with a buck, surely he hasn't just found that out!
Their classification is dumb-ass with three exclamation points.
Their beef with Trump is when they made a disaster before him, the taxpayers had to live with it and were happily ignorant of the facts and the Dims were safe. Now, Trump calls them out and provides the proof of their incompetence and the cloak is off. They can't stand it because they don't have it on the ball to do anything because all they worry about is re-election. Trump wants the win but not at the sacrifice of the Country.
There's more to any problem than money alone will fix. That's all they've got because of the strangling rot in their party. Pelosi, Schummer, Nadler, all actors, not doers. Left in the dust of time, these cretins are relying on 1950s thinking that is on par with the dinosaurs. See what happened to them. I can't imagine the new left allowing these dolts to cause an implosion to the point not only do they remove all doubt of their stupidity but hold the Country back in comparison to other sovereigns who are modern and functionally viable to their people.
Is it possible that hard-hardheadedness has overcome common sense and being led by a inner circle of toads? Yes I think so. Rep. or Dem....Please take the steps with your vote to rectify this lunacy before your Country pays the ultimate price.
