Eminent domain, China style: Farmers handcuffed, buildings bulldozed

Representatives of communist government confiscate private land for road

Chinese state police have confiscated a number of parcels of land to build a road.

In the United States, the landowners would be compensated for the value of the land and any related assets.

That's not necessarily so in China, Bitter Winter reports, where agents detained the farmers, ordered their livestock sold and their sheds demolished.

It happened in the city of Zhangjiakou in the northern province of Hebei.

  4. The statement that in the US landowners would be compensated for the value of the land and any related assets IS A LIE.

I know that as a fact because I was involved in an eminent domain land grab by the Federal / State and I was screwed out of $20000 in which the Federal booklet / guidelines stated.

They said I could get that $20000 if I took them to court. By taking them to court it would have cost me $25000 so I was screwed either way.
