BACKFIRE: ‘Gone With The Wind’ Sales Explode After Leftists Target Movie. Sales Of Other Classics Also Skyrocketing.

The recent decision to pull the American classic “Gone with the Wind” from HBO Max has had the Streisand effect, a phenomenon where attempting to suppress something ends up calling more attention to it and thus having the opposite effect of the intended desire.

“HBO Max parent AT&T Inc.’s move came amid growing concerns about racial injustice following the killing of George Floyd, a black man, while being arrested by a white Minneapolis police officer,” The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. “Considered a classic of American cinema and winner of eight competitive Academy Awards, including best picture, the 1939 film starring Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh and Hattie McDaniel tells the story of southern belle Scarlett O’Hara and her love affair with Rhett Butler. Much of the four-hour film is set on the O’Hara plantation, Tara, and in Atlanta during and after the Civil War.”

A review of Amazon’s “Best Sellers in Movies & TV” from Sunday did not show “Gone with the Wind” appearing in the top-100 ranking of bestsellers in the category.

  1. All democrats boycotts back fire. And all businesses etc that democrats recommend end up losing a ton of money and if they are a small business they fail after being democrat recommended. Good people do the opposite of what democrats suggest.

  2. Speaking of the word “Plantation”, I was driving down Pemberton Drive last night and noticed a street sign, leading to a gravel roadway, with the name of “Plantation Drive”. The word “Plantation” is associated with pre-Civil War white slave owners and is offensive to me and many other people like me. I demand that either the City of Salisbury, Wicomico County or the State of Maryland remove this sign and rename that road MLK Drive. It’s only the right thing to do.

    2. Plantation Drive is the gravel road leading into a Pemberton Park. Do we know for certain that prior to the Civil War Black slaves were not held against their will to perform the deeds of their white masters? Maybe it would now be appropriate to demolish Pemberton Hall built in 1741 by Isaac and Anne Handy. I bet they owned slaves.

  6. This is great, the Chick Fil-A response. Every time some leftist scumbag tries to hurt something they don't agree with we need to promote it as much as we can especially with our pocket book.
