After 20 + Years Dave Ryan Is Still Worthless, Yet Keeps His Job?

A conversation with a member of Salisbury/Wicomico Economic Development Team.
Joe/Editor,
Take this for what it is worth. Mr. Ryan skated around almost every question, and this mission for the City of Salisbury is not much of a plan.
Regards,
Wayne King

David, what's going on with our torn up town? In the aftermath of this virus, I doubt Jake will be able to procure more grants to continue construction downtown. BTW, how can the people on this economic dev team accept this constant construction? And if you don't, why has no one spoken up in the media? From my point of view, and many others, the entire economic development team should be replaced. What say you?
And what are the plans? The Empire State Building was built in less than a year. Why the he'll is the construction moving so slow? Jake should have the roads sealed up and have the downtown ready for business. No more construction. The way this city is being ran, it looks like no one knows what the hell they are doing. Wouldn't you agree? Present company excluded, of course.
Another question, what's going on with the Ross building? And do you agree with the construction of this future section 8 destination?
Also, Jake has increased the city deficit by over 23%. Did you know that? If yes, is that a concern? Who has the biggest voice, not necessarily in charge, on this team?

Hi Wayne, we’re going to continue our effort to promote more jobs. BTW, I spent some time playing tennis in Huntington Station with a teammate of mine (a long, long time ago). Not sure if the center is still there or not. Stay safe!

Why didn't you answer any of my questions or concerns? Please do not act like a politician. Explain why the construction is taking so long and please tell me how you plan on promoting new business or jobs with a ripped up city? So far, everything you guys have been doing downtown has been an utter failure. Please explain. Businesses are leaving, not coming. The citizens need to know what the heck is going on. You need to address the spending too.
Sorry but I’m focusing on our mission and I’m just not involved enough to know those answers. I suspect you’ve reached out to the City? Stay safe!
Stop with the stay safe BS. I am reaching out to YOU. You know the answers to these questions. Why do you fear answering them?
Okay fine. Please copy and paste the mission right here. You must have it written down. I hope you are not talking about the construction - like the Greenway, etc... Thanks.

Per request sir. Still, I wish you well.  ‘Mission is to enhance the socio-economic environment of Salisbury, Wicomico County and region through the preservation and creation of productive employment opportunities’.
That's everyone's mission. Thanks...

  1. Salisbury/Wicomico Economic Development Team's only "plan" is a weekly paycheck without actually having to do anything.

I for one would love to know ONE thing they have accomplished that has brought economic development to the community other than a wawa or royal farm.

  2. dave ryan, although probably a nice guy. Hasn't down squat for the last 20+ years as director of swed. other then cash a fairly big paycheck!
I just wonder how much of a state/county pension he's managed to pocket along the way with all the other trimmings?

  3. Economic Development aka job creation is a front for implementing the green new deal. Government employees have been brainwashed into believing there is a climate crisis and the sea level is rising in order to implement change at taxpayer expense.

Grants should be eliminated so that taxes are reduced. This would shrink the government while allowing taxpayers to create jobs through growth and development.

  5. Wow. What a non answer run around that was. I think it's a matter of milking a job on gov't money. And poor Jake just doesn't have any municipal managment skills to end it all. The town really is torn up. It's killing a failed downtown even more. I just stay away from there. There's nothing to go there for anyway. The library, when open is a homeless sanctuary, and people feel uneasy going there. And from that picture comparison with Annapolis, it needs to be bulldozed down and a nice park put up. Or make the businesses and offices, landlords, etc clean up and remodel their outside areas. Why would you put yourself in a picture next to Annapolis? Jake is on a learning curve with all this. Seems he doesn't have very good people around him.

  6. Look at the tremendous job Michael Day did in Berlin. DAVE Ryan should be embarrassed be the comparison.

  7. Ha. Joe's just mad because Dave has a big hand in promoting off-shore wind in Maryland. Will produce a lot of jobs.... in Wicomico.

    1. 8:26- "Ha." This was a message from Wayne Knight. Did you read it? Not Joe. Also, virtually everyone, who is not a politician, doesn't want wind farms off shore. You're point is?

  8. The sad thing is, there is an enormous amount of funding being invested in these "improvements". It is no secret that Day has plans for higher office and is using the City of Salisbury pocket book to finance his resume building. His future campaigns will proudly point to what 'he' did in Salisbury. However, he will move on and we will be stuck with trying to pay for all of the deficit spending that he is creating. All with a rubber stamp from the current sitting Council.

  9. This guy is a Lackey for the City and County who pays his salary. For years he has done absolutely nothing.

I enjoy watching the County Council meetings and seeing John Cannon kiss his ass that praises him for the great things he has done. It becomes an exercise for my brain because it works overtime trying to figure out what great things Dave Ryan has done for the County. Then the bottom line is I remember that Dave Ryan hasn't done Jack Shit for the County and it's time to cut him from the Budge.

Bob Culver, when the Hell are you going to cut him out of your budget? County Council, if Bob Culver doesn't cut Ryan from the budget it's up to you to do so.

    1. Bob Culver has never tried to cut his budget. In fact, a couple years ago Bob gave him a big budget increase. The council had to fight Bob on that.

  10. The 5 biggest losers in Downtown Salisbury are Jake Day, John Cannon, Bill Chambers, Mike Dunn and Dave Ryan.

    Change my mind!

  11. Dave likes to dream about back in the day when he was an average tennis player and he's a below average SWED director Peter principal definitely was in play 20 years ago and he has never risen above average in life.

  12. How is a wind farm off the coast produce jobs in a county that only Touches the bay? Do you think that they will live in Salisbury? Not likely.

ACTUALLY - I have a post where JAKE DAY states that we will see very few jobs as we all know they are going to Baltimore.

Not sure what koolaid you are drinking, or which cronie you are of Day's but even that fool admits we will not see very many jobs AND the jobs are not long lasting.

    You are such a fool.

  14. One of the reasons the construction continues is the first contractors that started work on Main Street had an agreement with the Mayor and City Council that all waste cleared from Main Street old pipes etc would go to the County Landfill at no charge, as it was city existing waste. When they tried to take it to the landfill they were told they would have to pay each load. The city did not keep their end of the bargain and so they were sued for breach of contract, and the contractors were never paid. It's like those promises the city makes to get businesses to come to Salisbury all the time and then the city pulls the plug. Ask the Mayor and City Council how many Contractors have been hired and things fell through due to the city's fault? They want business to come to Salisbury but don't even know how to keep contracts. Day is a dumbass and the city equals dumb & dumber!!!

    1. It was tainted soil from a gas station that had a leak in its underground tank. Day was told that remediation would be needed... He didn't listen....

  17. Ryan is fall-out from the Liberal Sarbanes-Tilghman Agenda.

And as one opinion said. Easy smooth talk with a somewhat concerned listening face has provided him a nice easy paycheck for 2 decades.

  18. Dave Ryan and Mike Dunn are probably the only two 60 year old white men that are tolerated and employed by the local government. They both are nothing more than glorified ass biters that go along with Jake Day's bullshit agenda therefore their left alone and tolerated by the progressive liberal lunacy. Ryan's daddy and in-laws hooked him up with his bogus position and Dunn well anyone that's ever been around him knows he's a camellia. Hell adapt to whatever social/political agenda is popular at the time and start licking boots. It's sickening to hear all the garbage he feeds Jake Day's while he manipulates and strokes his ego. His local sexual hedonism is well known and got the side of his skull crushed in by an angry ex husband, rightfully so.

  19. Why didn't he answer the questions? They were very reasonable and I would really like to know the answers. He works for the city. I pay taxes here, so he works for me... Us! Answer the questions Dave. I am sure you are monitoring this.
