Update on Coronavirus Cases At Miami University in Oxford, Ohio

Officials at Ohio's Miami University held a press conference on Sunday evening, along with the Ohio Department of Health, Butler County General Health, Middletown Health Department and the Hamilton City Health Department to provide an update on the two individuals at Miami University who were tested for the novel Coronavirus.

The announcement from Gregory P. Crawford, President of Miami University:

"Today we received notification from the Ohio Department of Health that the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) test samples sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were negative. We are so glad to hear that these students are on the road to recovery. I am also particularly grateful to the Ohio Department of Health and the Butler County Health District, as well as Governor DeWine’s office, for their leadership and guidance this past week. Their support was remarkable. I am thankful that Miami leadership and our Student Health Services/TriHealth personnel were prepared to take the right, proactive actions.

"Even with this news, our student health providers ask that we all continue to be proactive in monitoring our health as we are still in peak flu season."

  1. This is good news, but over 1000 students are still Chinese.. it may not be over yet.

The Chinese are becoming global pariahs.. deservedly so, IMO. It is becoming clear that they waited far too long to admit this and address it, causing it to spread and worsen much more than it needed to, and now countries all over the world are being affected.

And when Mr. Trump called them on it, they said he was being rude.

We should do like many other countries have done-- suspend travel to and from China, and quarantine those who have arrived until the 2-week possible incubation period is up (which may be even longer, we are now hearing..)

The word is that this may have come from a bio-weapons lab. If that proves to be true, they should pay dearly for it.
