Statement from Governor Hogan on Shooting in Northeast Baltimore

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan issued the following statement on today’s shooting in Northeast Baltimore:

“This morning, two members of a joint federal-state-local task force—a Baltimore City police officer and a Baltimore County police officer—were struck by gunfire during a warrant apprehension operation.

“This task force included state troopers assigned to the Maryland State Apprehension Team, as well as Maryland Transportation Authority Police. I have directed Maryland State Police Superintendent Bill Pallozzi to offer the state’s full support and all available resources for the investigation. We ask Marylanders to join us in praying for the full and speedy recovery of the brave officers who were injured.

“Every day, state law enforcement officials are working in close coordination with federal and local agencies in Baltimore City and throughout the state. We are providing unprecedented resources to combat this violent crime crisis from all directions, with everything we’ve got. The time has come for Baltimore City to finally take back its streets and communities, once and for all.”

  1. We will probably find out later it was a no knock raid. I can't believe that practice has not been banned. It's dangerous for officers and for the public. How many times have they done this and found out they were at the wrong house after they killed the family pets or a person holding a TV remote that was mistaken for a gun. What's so hard about surveiling a wanted person and just having two plain clothed officers grab them when they go grocery shopping.

  2. Well have to justify their exsistance for all of the orwellien toys they got after 911. Makes you wonder why do they need it. Since 1:27 has a good final point. If we were allowed to conceal carry maybe we would not need to waste money for more cops courts and jails.
Hogan should just STFU he is just another useful idiot of the leftards.

  5. Baltimore is criticized for becoming a very dangerous city full of thugs and violence. Hurray for the officers on this task force and all the others who are risking their lives to restore public safety. Why some people vilify them for their service escapes me. I pray for the injured officers and all those who endeavor to protect us. In VA the state police are ejecting citizens from public hearings for opposing policy. In MD we have law enforcement officers standing up for us on enforcement of immigration laws at the state level, multi-agency coordination for warrant service , and we are serious about making cities like Baltimore safe again. These officers put their lives on the line every day to protect both the grateful and the ungreatful.

  7. The first thing they have to do is get rid of the Democrats that have running that city forever.

  8. Northwest Woodsman: Rid Baltimore of all Scandinavian and Amish gang members and the community that provides tacit support by ignoring and allowing the criminal behavior. Problem solved. The violent culture of the community is the problem. That is never going to change.
