School tells students to remove American flags from their trucks: It's 'offensive'

Virginia – When students at Franklin County High School in Virginia were told they could not fly the American flag from their trucks because it might be offensive – they did what any red-blooded American teenager would do: they flew the flag anyway.

The staff at ToddStarnes.com broke the story about this school in the area east of Roanoke and Christiansburg, where the flags displayed behind trucks have become a target for school administrators.

Earlier this week, an administrator at the Virginia school reportedly told several students that they could no longer fly Old Glory on their trucks because it was potentially “offensive” and “disruptive.”

  6. With all the problems that are happening in our schools, failing test scores and more than anything the high incidence of crime. Crime has never been this high in the Wicomico County School System until Donna Hanlin was hired as the Superintendent. Now we have an elected school board and the 7 elected miscreant voted unanimously to reappoint her as the Wicomico County BOE Superintendent. Donna Hanlin is the weakest and the worst Superintendent in the history of the Wicomico County Board of Education. The seven BOE members were too lazy and too weak to do a search for a new Superintendent.

The seven members of Wicomico County’s Board of Education unanimously reappointed Dr. Donna Hanlin today. She will serve another 4-year term as Superintendent.

In 2022 we have the choice to vote these clowns out of office. These so-called Republicans are a major disappointment to the Party. John Palmer, Ann Suthowski, Gene Malone and Tanya Laird Lewis. Tonya Laird Lewis has to get through the upcoming 2020 race to get re-elected and then run again for re-election in 2022. We are going to work overtime to make sure she doesn't get through the November election. BUH BYE Tonya!!

  8. Use some critical thinking folks. There HAS to be more to the story. Every school in America flies American flags, has them in their classes and DAILY pledges to the flag.

Does this narrative being put out here make sense? Don't fly the flag on your car because it might offend someone, but never mind the flags outside the school, in the class, or the pledge we say every day?

Something is missing here. It is QUITE possible that the flags are a distraction, or no safe in the parking lot, may be there is some sort of disturbance... but the narrative of don't fly them because someone might find it offensive just doesn't hold water.

Look folks, just cause you have a flag, it doesn't give you special powers to do whatever you want. That's not how things work, and I'm curious what the rest of the story is here.

  9. What ever school issues these instructions is unAmerican. Time to close that school. The Administrator needs to take a direct trip to the border and not return.
