    1. Some type, it could have been retail sales, or sales tax licenses! And not necessarily the proper alchohol permits. Just like a bunch of Democrat politicians...the laws don't apply to us, we make them and can break them with no consequences! This all started with the Clinton crime family and grew to other Democrats with the attitude "they can why not me!" (Not getting into trouble)

  2. The last thing I would want Franchot do is become Governor and then have Maryland become another California. The way things have been going in Annapolis is scary.

  3. Understanding how deep and insidious the Democratic party is. The heck with the law if it promotes the Dem anything is allowed. How anyone can vote for this lawless party is beyond imagination.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Why was Hogan not brought into the process? Hogan is supposedly the Boss of these idiots that refused to respond and then override State regulations to ignore County responsibility. Hogan must not want to buck the Democrats as usual.

  5. So not only last year, but this year also the Comptroller (his majesty) King Peter Franchot hath decreed that he can do whatever he pleases and by-pass laws established by the Governor. Now, suddenly, there is outrage over a letter sent right before the second festival. How many letters have to be sent before you are considered ignoring the proper protocol? Wow Peter, whatever type of spin you are going for is clearly BS. Nice try, but we all know what you are about !

  6. Hogan needs to get his Comptroller in check, this is a real test to see where his priorities are!

  7. I don’t know what the reason is regarding not licensing the event with the Wicomico liquor board, but rest assured, there is a reason. What say you Mayor Day?
Trust me, the mayor will not answer this question.

  8. He allegedly did this to “protect his citizens” yet had the ability to walk down hall and discuss but claims it’s not his duty...wouldn’t that fall under protecting his citizens? Second, he claimed he funded so much money, allocated trucks for last year for protecting unsafe streets, and allowed parks and rec to be a part of the folk fest. Why use county resources and money if you don’t morally and professionally believe all i’s were dotted and t’s crossed? Why didn’t the local businesses apply for licenses to be acceptable for walking around within the festival limits?
The argument that “it’s not our job to ask the city if they got one” while knowing issues they had in 2018 were a possibility yet find it their responsibility weeks prior is egregious and frankly sad.

    1. You’re a hack! Is it the county exec’s job to wipe the mayor’s nose for him too??? Culver was backed into a corner wrt to providing resources for this money pit of an event. Even you probably have the imagination to figure out by whom. You ought to go over to Foxwell’s FB page and see what the Salisbury self-proclaimed political elite are saying. Included are Day, Boda and Anderton. They thumbed their noses at due process, and once again pulled it off. Salisbury is the butt of this joke. Franchot needs to be stopped from running for governor. Foxwell is too naive to understand that this fracas will come up during the campaign and Franchot will disavow him.

Did you not read the part where the County Executive was saying that the State of Maryland issued the liquor license when it is the responsibility of the County to do it.

    1. Nope and I really don’t care who issued it. This is a national festival and apparently in compliance with state law. If they pissed off the local people sorry. They sold primarily local beer and wine which was very cool

  11. Executive Culver's letter was factual and to the point, however, the Democratic response was laden with mean-spirited overtones. It's truly telling, that Comptroller Franchot and his staff believe they are above reproach. Executive Culver has a the right and the authority to question how and why local authority was bypassed.

  12. The Comptroller’s office did reply last year. Not sure why no one received, but I’m pretty sure it was sent. I saw a copy of it somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hogan is out of the country and Peter Franchot had nothing to do with it , it came from a person in his office, the foul mouthed over dramatic Foxwell.

And dumbass September 17, 2019 at 11:46 AM is too stupid to get the point but was intelligent enough to dispense beer? I don't think so. So desperate for volunteers they'll let 11:46 in.

Jake never applied for the license in the county like he should have and went running to his buddy in Annapolis and then lied thru his teeth about it when Culver mentioned his antics.

This is just another example of Jake screwing people over to get what he wants, which is the Lt Gov position in 2 years. You are an idiot if you think he gives a rats ass about you. He only cares about himself and his next step up.

    Wake up people.

  14. The comptroller does not work for the Governor, is not duly assigned to obey the Governor, nor does the Governor have any real ability at oversight and direction of the comptrollers office. The comptroller is an independently elected official, linked in no way, shape, or form, to the governor, his political party, or his rule of law. The comptroller technically works for the people of the state who elected him, not the political parties or even the chief executive of the state. So saying that the Governor needs to get him in check is a fallacy as he has no power to. This is why the county executive wrote his letter to Senate President, Mike Miller.

The responsibility of oversight and direction of the comptrollers office, and the abilities of the comptroller reside with the state legislature. He absolutely needs to be reigned in, but if you really want to make that happen it is up to you as a citizen to call on your elected state representatives to do so, and then ensure they follow through with actually doing something about it during our very small state legislative session. However, considering that one of the officials that you all would be calling upon for this is Carl Anderton, I can't imagine that anyone will even bat an eyelash... I am hopeful, that eventually, one of these scenarios will stir up the people of the eastern shore enough that they bring their elected officials to task, but all I ever see is complaining about someone who then gets reelected in a landslide (usually unopposed). Until the citizenry changes their representation, they will not be adequately represented...

Perhaps people hadn't thought much about these facts before, and maybe, in hearing them here some of you may go educate yourselves about your state's government and the various departments. You would certainly be more well informed to advocate for your community with more knowledge, and maybe, YOU could be the person who finally finds the way to break the status quo that has plagued the shore from our legislature since it's inception...

    At least, one can dream.

Why is the applicant for the liquor license the City of Salisbury?

The city is a sponsor of the event, not the organizer.

Point of the event is to showcase our area. The executive shouldn't be in the business of making the event more difficult to pull off.

Oh Lord! Can you imagine Franchot as Governor and Gay Day as the Lt. Governor! God help us!!

But Dumb A$$ RINO's keep saying Jake Day is doing 'great things' as mayor. I just want to walk up to these idiots and slap some sense into them. Right Beth Reid.

    ReplyDelete
  35. One thing to keep in mind is Peter Franchot didn't write the scathing letter about Culver, his Socialist mouthpiece Liberal Len Foxwell did. With that said, Franchot knew Liberal Len wrote the letter and allowed him to.

My guess is he let Liberal Len write the letter to come to Gay Day's defense is so that when he runs for Governor, Liber Len will get the blame and Franchot will get a free pass.

  36. I just looked at Foxwell’s FB post and literally suffered through reading the comments. What a circle jerk! I’m not a culver fan, but was shocked at the venom being spewed. Also Anderton, Wellfonder, and Boda commented. They were with Fox well and against culver.

Btw foxwell is a proud su alum. I suppose the kindness lady must be his mum?

  37. All I can say is Salisbury is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Anytime you have people like Jake Day representing your city you're in trouble. Day will bring more chaos into your city with transgender and LGBT festivals once this folk festival is done. Day is doing all he can to control county/city tax revenues to further his socialist liberal agendas

  42. I loathe driving thru Salisbury, let alone hanging out in that crime infested shithole.

I use the bypass as often as I can instead of entering that city, driving on terrible roads, surrounded by people who don't have a clue how to drive or what the rules of the road are.

There are a lot of fine people in Salisbury and they have common sense. They know which events are worth their time and worth the risk and which areas and time of day to avoid.

IMO, the city seems to not care a lot about its citizens. The citizens feel that and respond in kind. The select wealthy few are catered to, of course. The rest? Just pay your taxes and fees for the honor of living in the area.

But don't worry, they will be your best bud come election time.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's absolutely ludicrous for the city of Salisbury and this idiot mayor Jake Day to report that this festival had a 40 million dollar impact on the community and then to get a loudmouth LIBTARD like Len Foxwell to try and shame the Executive!. Jake Day's blatant lies are inexcusable!

    Jake Day - RESIGN!!
    Len Foxwell - RESIGN!!
    Peter Franchot - RESIGN!!

  44. There were more people at Delmarva Bike Week at the Delmarva Shorebirds stadium then the National Folk Festival had in Salisbury for the past two years combined.

  45. I have a issue with the whole thing from a business stand point. This festival relocates the local farmers market from the area they normally set up on and puts them out of contact with any customers. Mean while they set up anybody from out of town that's a vendor for this event. This definitely does not help the local farmers that depend on this market for income. I hope that hopeful Mayor King realizes this when he sits In office and organizes these types of events.

  46. Quote by Jake Day's Libtard FB Hitman, Liberal Len Foxwell:

"If you will indulge my personal observation, I would suggest that, rather than engaging in mock outrage that the Comptroller’s Office acted without the blessing of your political cronies, you should be personally embarrassed that we needed to be called in the first place."

Liberal Len is calling the Liquor Control Board of Directors Executive Culver's "political cronies." What a F'n slap in the face to all of these Commissioners!

    ReplyDelete
  47. He’s a liar, now he’s trying to blame Bob Culver for adhering to the law and DHS recommendation about alcohol sales without the required amount of volunteers as some political stunt. Jake Day and his whole crew of Socialists are disingenuous liars that will make up and misconstrue anything to score political points with the idiots that believe them.

  56. It seems as though the local liberal delegation wants the city of salisbury to have their own liquor board. Giving Jake Day power which will inflate his ego. Jake has said, he wants people to walk out of one restaurant with alcohol and walk into another restaurant. He wants mardi gra all the time downtown. He doesn't want restaurant to have a food quote, that way they can be more bar. He wants the college kids inside of bars. He loves twisting the truth. He wants maryland to be even more diverse in alcohol laws than they already are. He wants to add another layer of government at the cost of the people. He has done nothing for any other neighborhood in Salisbury other then spending large sums of money downtown. He is terrible at math, there was not 100000 people at the folk festival. What Jobs has he brought here. He flies on the coattails of his daddy. Why else would perdue sponsor the folk festival. if you want to pay even more tax dollars to have have two liquor boards, i mean you are paying to have two fire safety departments. They speak about annapolis, the population of AA and annapolis within AA is apple to oranges. I can only assume Jake wants to be another CA, you know that Governor Gaiv.

  57. It's time for cannon to go. It was not the responsibility of the legislative branch to even get involved in this matter. It was cannon's own personal vendetta against Culver that cost taxpayers? money for legal advice on his own personal reasons.

  58. Jake Day did this on purpose. The jacka$$ is doing everything he can to make Culver look bad because he wants Culver out!! Culver is standing in his way of spending every last penny of county taxpayer money in Salisbury. This is just the latest example. Bob Culver is supportive of library going to Pittsville. Nope Jake Day has his little butt buddy post stuff on Pittsville Open Line and Pittsville Uncensored about how Bob Culver is not supportive of the library there. It’s all about the money honey. Jake Day wants that $2,000,000 grant to go directly to library in Salisbury. He seems to forget that there are taxpayers in the entire county not just his crime infested city. It’s just another example of how stupid and greedy Jake Day really is. We see you Jake Day. Keep trying to play your stupid games. More and more every day people are realizing just what a dirty politician and human being you really are.
