Robbers killed in Florida UPS truck hijacking, shootout with police are identified

Mugshots for Lamar Alexander, 41, and Ronnie Hill, 41. (Florida Department of Correction)
The two men responsible for a south Florida jewelry heist-turned-hostage situation and eventual police shootout previously served time for robbery, according to a report.

A UPS driver and an innocent bystander were also fatally shot during the gun battle in Miramar, which was seen on local TV.

The FBI identified the robbers as Lamar Alexander and Ronnie Hill, both 41, WPLG-TV reported.

  1. Ballistics that prove who shot the UPS driver and the motorist will be interesting to hear. The driver was sitting in the floor and the motorist was a wrong place wrong time victim.

  2. Stricter gun laws would have prevented the two young rehabilitated men from the temptation of a gun! Period! Why have a jewelry store is that bragging and shaming certain people who can’t afford it? Sell on line. The police could have stayed in the armored cars until the young men ran out of bullets. Fact.

  3. "Stricter gun laws would have prevented the two young rehabilitated men from the temptation of a gun."
These two young men were 40-year-old men. They also don't appear to be rehabilitated. Stricter gun laws would have made no difference to these clowns. They obviously cared nothing about laws.
"The police could have stayed in the armored cars until the young men ran out of bullets."
Yes, the police could have stayed in the armored cars until those grown-ass men ran out of bullets. And maybe they would have killed others if they weren't stopped. Hindsight is always 20-20.

  4. I find the PO-lice instigated this whole situation.

It's only Jewelry for goodness sake, and the two abuse AFIKAN AMERICANS have been in jail so long, they may have forgotten how to shoot a gun

The cops made these poor souls panic, and that resulted in a unnecessary gun battle.

I also agree with the above statement that stronger gun laws to include limiting ammunition to 5 bullets per gun owner could have prevented this horrible and scary incident

    1. 5:45- so the people who robbed the jewelry store didn't instigate it, the cops did? Really!? You BLM people are truly moronic!

    3. 5:45-"In jail so long, they may have forgot how to shoot a gun." They obviously didn't learn anything, this being their 2nd failed attempt.

  6. 11:29 if they were released from prison for armed robbery, they got their guns illegally. Why have a jewelry store? If that is your question, it's too ridiculous to answer. Most cop cars are not Bulletproof. Wait till they finish firing at anyone and everybody? You've got to be the most dumbest person to ever post on this blog. Fact.

  7. Northwest Woodsman: Anyone out there dispute my 85% rule? Although, I think it may have increased to 90% probably after the Obama influence. You all residing in diverse communities are in for some real trouble soon. Better be prepared. I reside in an almost homogeneous community of folks who look like me and even with that, I am prepared.

    1. So were innocent people in a shootout that happened because of the chase. Police track people all the time stealthily. Why not in these situations to protect and serve innocent lives? Oh wait it’s to protect and serve government property and business

  9. Best guess at this moment is that police bullets killed all those who died. The UPS driver and the innocent motorist were unarmed. Supposedly the robbers fired at police at the jewelry store and along the way. It's a point of conjecture as to how much ammo they still had when the truck got stuck in traffic-probably not too much.

I'm grateful we have trained police but the video made this look like the OK Corral.

  10. Northwest Woodsman: I certainly hope that some of the above comments are meant to be sarcastic. Unfortunately, there are some who actually believe that sort of nonsense.

  11. The convicted felons should have moved to Salisbury. Jake Day and the rest of the progressives, BLM and any other racist POS would have secured employment, a residence, the whole nine yards. We all know they were wrongly accused and convicted for a prior robbery, GET THE F*** OUTTA HERE! They got exactly what they had coming, a bullet to the brain. PROBLEM SOLVED

  13. You idiots are funny!! You cry stricter gun laws, crying that police fired back at suspects that resorted to their true calling of robbing honest working people. I bet if it were you or a family member out in that situation you'd want law enforcement's help then. I know I've heard the same broken record, it's the white man's fault, holding the brothers down, forcing them into a life of drugs, forty ouncers and the dumb ass idea of robbing a ups driver. What about the other two identical style robberies in the same state did whitey force them to grab a gun and attempt to take someone else's things there too? I call it like it is and they were just two lazy dumbasses that resorted to a life of crime and weren't good at it!

  14. 5:43 Hhhhmmmm. Rrriiggghhtt. I fail to understand your logic. Their point was incorrect. They did not attain their gun legally. Not being felons. They instigated the outcome, not the LEO's. How is a jewelry store shaming others? What TV shows are you watching to assume patrol vehicles are bullet proof? You agree that the police should allow them to mow down as many people as they can until they run out of bullets, until those police are allowed to respond? Are you mental? What a bunch of idiots defending the hostage takers! It shows how stupid the left in the country are!

  15. Here is a perfect example of how gun laws hurt law abiding citizens from defending themselves. These felons were able to illegally acquire a gun, while the idiot democrats scream stricter gun laws are needed, when the opposite would allow these victims to defend themselves from these pieces of Bipedal excrement. Far below the chain of evolution to be called Human excrement. So to classify them as being higher on the evolutionary scale as Baboons, would be an over statement. To those who want to defend these, thankfully dispatched idiots, suck it!

  16. 543 I see your point. If the police did not go to the call it would have been a insurance claim. Guns were only to scare the clerk who was probably in on it.

UPS has GPS technology in every vehicle. Nobody had to chase it. And the cops got that poor UPS driver killed. For what? to recover some jewelry?
