Northwest Woodsman: Poor taste would be the only excuse for purchasing one of those ugly American Motors cars. Had a fellow agent when working in LA area in those days. He continually complained about the job, supervisors, the agency, and the result was that when we received new vehicles, he got the Purple Gremlin! Punishment?
I had a brother-in-law that had one. He thought it was ugly, but wanted to drive it until it died. The car outlasted him! It had a motor that just wouldn't quit.
Ugly ass car.

ReplyDeleteThat is a Gremlin and youcould get 304 v8 in 1972 models.....really could spin the tires.....but still a piece of you know what
ReplyDeleteNot to mention the Levi's edition trim. Very uncomfortable if you were a back seat passenger. But cheap wheels back in the day.
Ugly car, appropriately named. But you couldn't kill that engine. It would run much longer than you would want to be seen in that car.
