Salisbury, There Is Light At The End Of The Tunnel...

I can tell you first hand, Jake Day will have a fierce opponent in the upcoming mayoral election.

This gentleman is a conservative republican, smart, intense and will not stand for the games currently being played.

In due time we will make the announcement and SBYNews will endorse this individual.

Put your seat belts on Liberals, it's time for new leadership.

  1. About time. Now to see if Salisbury will support change

  2. I pray this individual follows through. I watched a council meeting on PAC 14 a few weeks ago and caught John Rue and Steve Brewer calling Day and his band of misfits out on their BS. Day has NO true leadership qualities he merely follows the national trend and has run Salisbury in the ground. His need for acceptance and social media popularity by buying into all the ridiculous agendas and wreckless spending can't be allowed by the mayor of any city. I hope the challenging candidate wins and cleans out ALL the garbage that is Salisbury city government. There are too many people with jobs in city government that have no business holding the position they have. Day literally created these jobs out of thin air for a chosen few of his close friends. They hold NO qualifications or experience in running city government

    1. You must get a new line. Every election I hear you say the same thing. When this Republican gets into office. You'll be pissed off at something they did as well. And we will hear this ALL OVER AGAIN. Too bad your not a city voter uh??

  4. Hey Salisbury don't miss out on Day and "literally" all the little children that is Salisbury government and their version of green government(aka Cortez BS) ON MAY 11th. They gave festivities planned and a blessing of the Wicomico River. I SH** you not you can't make this stuff up

  8. If elected I hope the new mayor requets an audit of city finances and spending. It's time to find out the actual costs of this F** festival and marathon. Let's see just where Day has taken money from and what departments and services he's blatantly disregarded

    ReplyDelete

    1. Even they don't know how much it cost, or how much was "donated" on the day of the festival.

  9. Jake better start tightening his ship up and fast. All the major issues going on inside Salisbury Police Department and all the promises made at the last election. Its time to move forward Jake along with all the other major issues. Its time to either sh@* of get off the pot. Time running out. Cant wait to see who the new candidate will be. I'll bet he will fix these issue. Don't wait till its to late Jake. This is going to be a major platform for your opponent.

  10. @7:52 I hope Day has his daddy and PERDUE farms out there with skimmers. The damage their runoff and discharge from the processing plant can't be cleaned up by merely picking up a few plastic bottles and household garbage. Decades of negligence and disregard has had an irreversible effect on the wicomico. Between the old creosote plant andd tilghman fertilizer and PERDUE that river is dead. Let's not forget the annual flushing of the wastewater treatment plant adding to the destruction. Let's bless those turds JAKE

  11. Finally. Tell me where to send money for his campaign. As I said in past, I will have all kinds of donors.

  12. You'd better prepare to raise about $50,000, 'cause that's what the real estate/landlord cabal can muster in PAC money, if not more.

    1. I wouldn't call them a cabal. They may have equity but they don't have cash.

  13. Hope it happens
However I think Salisbury is flushed down the drain pipe
PD needs house cleaning and return to policing instead of being a social feel good tool for the Mayor.

Spending money on things that feel good better get back to doing what a Town is suppose to do
how about fixing a pot hole or two
Enforce housing code at the BIG RENT machine apt complexes list is to long to publish

  14. 8:25 that is sooooooooo perfectly said. What a great department that has needed a change for years. Lets hope he keeps Barb's through the election. This alone will cost him the Mayors seat and can only help this new candidate's.

  15. Joe, are you RUNNING again!? Just what we NEED in this area.

  17. So much is wrong in Salisbury and I certainly hope this new candidate WINS and takes back Salisbury. So tired of all this cosmetic crap going on (all the unnecessary crap they did in the park, all the unnecessary bright azz paint on that parking garage downtown, the rainbow cross walk in front of library) and on and on and on. And yes, our police department needs to once again do police work and WBOC and WMDT need to report on what is going on in Salisbury and quit with the Delaware crap already.

  19. It's time for a mayor that will put the city FIRST. Take back the streets of Salisbury and stop giving in to all the section 8 landlord BS and welfare entitlement programs. Is it just me or have they even used these are community centers their building all over town? They do the social media opening to make it look like great things are being done then they look like the vacant buildings they were beforehand. The one on Truitt Street must be a "stop and nap" center for city employees because that's all the vehicles you see there. One or two vehicles in the parking lot and the building locked up tight as a drum

  21. Well 8:51, with the way he has run this city down and destroyed Salisbury Police Department, this new candidate wont need $50,000 to defeat Jake.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Deja Vu.

I remember a fine fellow running for mayor sometime back that got tremendous support from the community; he went out and talked to many voters, they came and apparently voted for him in large numbers, but he 'lost.'

How will the ballot-box-stuffing and election-rigging be prevented this time? Or will it come out the same way with another Teflon clown show on the agenda for the next 4 years?

Inquiring minds want to know. [ RIP Mr. Duvall ]

  23. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that Jake will move on for a State election and Brad Gillis will run in his place... And win.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Palmer Gilliss won't let that happen. There's too much money for them to lose milking the city constructionn and commercial real estate business. They'll definitely be a conflict of interest if Brad gilliss were to be elected mayor. The gilliss' put the right idiot in the mayor's office with Jake Day, he'll do whatever they ask and he gets his public persona and progresive liberal social agenda. Take a ride from the south end to the northern Delmar end and ALL you see are Gilliss construction and SVN real estate signs. Talk about corruption

      Delete
    2. What do SVN signs have anything to do with any alleged corruption you speak about?? I’m confused by your statement here. Last I checked commercial property owners make their own choices on who they want to work with, just as homeowners do, so I don’t see any connection you’re trying to make between the choices private property owners make (many of which don’t even live on the Eastern Shore) and “corruption”? Please explain

  25. The powers that be will prevent this from happening, just like they did in 2012. That mayoral election was rigged and no one did anything about it. Even if someone complained, the attorney general's office is a far-left stronghold. Jake and all the landlords are laughing like crazy; they know they can fix it if they need to, with no consequences for them. Face it: SBY residents are permanently screwed.

  26. Funny no one talks about the Salisbury Fire Department anymore and giving them a free pass. No mention of them allowing an apartment that is fully sprinklered burn down to the ground. Those misfits are no better than they were in the 1800's. Good work, Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm confused. If the Salisbury Fire Department has its own Fire Marshal and he was on the scene then why did they call for the State Fire Marshal?

My guess is that Eric Cramer and John Tull are posers and they are wasting tax dollars.

  28. Unfortunately, I don't think the voters have been the problem. The problem is that we have had terrible conservative candidates with very low moral integrity and do not promote strong family values. We've had people who may have had some success in the business world but are known to have very little integrity in business, family, and community life. We need a candidate who reflects Judeo/Christian virtues and values. If this supposed candidate isn't that kind of candidate then it will be a similar outcome as the last time we had a conservative mayoral candidate.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't think any local is prepared to lead here. Anyone foolish enough to take it on has their own agenda and the backing of established existing interests. The tide will turn to the other extreme and the common folk will feel philosophically redeemed much like the current presidency but will see little real change and do little themselves to take action and get involved beyond bitching about it all.

I am the candidate running against Jake. I will be registering for Mayor next week. I am an outsider like our friend Joe. I don't want to speak issues much yet, except that I will be draining the swamp. People who are capable and follow my lead get to keep their jobs. The rest will be flushed. No favoritism. I can't be bribed and all bids for town work will be vetted. We will prioritize on how we spend. For instance, we are not having a festival if we are having trouble heating our schools, etc... Beautification will take place in our neighborhoods, giving our people pride. Drugs and gangs will be eradicated. A task Force will be created to just concentrate on those issues instead of shaking down every motorist that is driving 10 MPH over the speed limit. Law enforcement will be prioritized.

I gave you a taste. Much more to come.

  37. Mr. Weidner god bless you for your effort. I'm a county resident therefore I can't support you with my vote but I will most definitely support you financially and voluntarily with anything needed. I'm sick of the fiasco and circus Jake Day had created but more importantly the thievery that he has allowed in the construction market and rental property market. It's time to rid Salisbury of the veteran builders and Gilliss Gilkerson stranglehold. Day is literally flooding Salisbury with unnecessary apartment complexes two of which are more section 8 housing. Salisbury was once a family/home ownership community and now it's becoming a little Baltimore.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mr. Weidner good luck with your attempt at becoming mayor. Please go into this knowing that Salisbury's election process lacks any inkling of integrity like most of the current persons holding positions from the mayor on down. Thus news is a breath of fresh air

I would like to hear the real numbers on the festival expenditures along with any/all of Jake Day's manipulating Salisbury government finances to host the events

  42. I am here for the people and to clean this mess up. If I get elected, all of my decisions made will be based on the needs of this city. I am not a politician and I have no aspirations for higher offices. Businesses are leaving high tax states like NJ, NY, And CA. There is a grand exodus taking place. I will try to woo some of these businesses to come here. That is better than Day's economic stimulus plan of blowing 280K on our zoo and park. He actually said it in his budget speech. After seeing his BS speech I became convinced this City needs help and I believe I can help. Then I started to look in his past videos, speeches, etc.. My conclusion was, this guy is "Jake the Snake". Good nickname.
That is when I decided to run.

I ask the people to vote for me, because that vote is a vote for the city and the people that live here.

    God bless.

  43. Why is this report from the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office? I thought the Salisbury Fire Department had their own "Fire Marshal?"

WTH are the taxpayers paying Eric Cramer an Assistant Chief's salary and giving him the Station 1 volunteers pick up truck with "Fire Marshal" written all over it? Why does Eric Cramer use the title "FM 1?" Why did Eric Cramer respond to that fire as "FM 1" Eric Cramer was at that fire standing next to "Command" the entire time. Rick Hoppes and John Tull with the help of Jake Day and the rest of the lying council continue to fraud the taxpayers!

Erick Cramers salary could be paying for 2 firefighters who may actually be doing something productive.

I pray that we get a real Mayor in November!

First of all who is Wayne Wiedner?

"People who are capable and follow my lead get to keep their jobs." So you are telling employees to kiss your ass right off the bat? First of all this is what the swam does best. You aren't too bright telling them that. If you were smart you wouldn't have to tell them that.

"For instance, we are not having a festival if we are having trouble heating our schools, etc" For instance, we are not having trouble heating our schools! Second, the City has nothing to do with paying for heating county schools. Get with the program!

I don't think I'm going to be voting for someone as dumb as this.

you are a moron if you can not figure out what the guy is saying. We have bigger issues to solve than putting on a festival and the money should not be going to the festival it should be going to fix community issues.

Who is going to profit from the festival?
    Only a small few.
How is the city going to make money from it when we have no local tax? Employees working it aren't going to hit pay dirt now are they. Do you think the few hours of overtime on a 22 hour festival is going to bring in that much tax income?

You think the hotel tax is going to reap millions in revenue to replace the TAXPAYER funds used to put on this party?

So tell me how the city is going to make pay dirt after spending MILLIONS on a 22 hour festival.

Did you know the state gave the city over 500K for the party?
Would that 500K have been better spent heating our schools? Fixing our roads?

Your statement goes to show just how narrow minded and ignorant you are that you can not sort out what the man id trying to tell you

And really? You think him telling the staff to kiss ass is something new? You really think that those that have been there for decades and thru multiple administrations already do not know they need to kiss ass to keep their jobs?

Nice try jack ass. Go ahead. Vote for Fake Day, all he cares about is making stuff pretty
What has he done to straighten the economy here? Bring in another wawa? the 50th royal farms? Get a grip
